Time-series data prediction aims to predict future data according to previous data. Following the temporal correlation of data, the data can be forecasted via recurrent network, considering the neighboring data. By leveraging the powerful discriminative capability of convolutional neural networks, we combine convolutional neural networks with recurrent neural networks to perform time series data prediction, using time-series data as the subject of analysis. Our network includes 4 layers fully connected layer and a 2 layer LSTM network, the full connection layer is used to low dimensional feature mapping to high dimensional, LSTM network is used to learn the timing trend. Our method obtains the mean square error (MSE) of 0.0782 in our evaluation data. This paper provides a good benchmark algorithm in the field of data mining, which lays a foundation for the subsequent application of deep learning. © 2024 IEEE.

With the surging growth of model parameters, foundation models pose unprecedented challenges to traditional computational infrastructures. These large models inherently require substantial accelerator memory to accommodate massive tensors during pre-training, fine-tuning, and even inference stages, making it even more challenging to deploy a model with restricted computational resources. Given this challenge, distribution and offloading the model states are two major solutions. Partitioning the required states to participating workers, and storing them in lower speed media, such as host DRAM and block devices, largely alleviate the accelerator memory pressure. However, the prohibitive costs of tensor communication render it a theoretically plausible yet practically inefficient solution. Previous efforts to improve efficiency include maximizing rematerialization and employing chunk-based tensor management to reduce host-device communication. Despite these efforts, the reported training throughput only achieves 36.54% of model FLOPs utilization (MFUs), still not comparable to full on-device training. In this work, we redesign the data flow of heterogeneous hardware and sharded model training to minimize the excessive communication overhead. Our proposed scheme significantly enhances training and inference throughput of large language models under restrictive computational resources. We confirmed a large leap in effective compute time by looking into the kernel-level runtime behavior of our trials, where the MFUs can achieve up to 51%. Compared to the state-of-the-art approach, our framework robustly achieves remarkable speedups from 3x to 30x in multiple distributed heterogeneous training setups and inference speedups of 1.5x to 2.35x without compromising arithmetic precision. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Continual learning aims to progressively acquire new knowledge while retaining previously learned information, addressing the challenge of catastrophic forgetting. This paper introduces a novel continual learning method, called SPrint, which is the first research effort to devise the principles of self-paced learning for solving continual learning problems. SPrint dynamically adapts the complexity of samples for both new and previous tasks in response to the model's current learning capacity. It employs a self-paced loss function for sampling new tasks and a forgetting occurrence for sampling previous tasks with replay memory. Through extensive empirical evaluation, we demonstrate that SPrint consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods in various continual learning benchmarks. Insect fine-grained image classification is an application scenario in fine-grained image classification. It not only has the characteristics of small inter-class differences and large intra-class differences, but also has the difficulty that some categories have multiple life-stage forms, which makes the general fine-grained image classification model difficult to play a role in insect scenes. To this end, based on the Vision Transformer, we design a fine-grained classification network for insect images based on abnormal clustering and cross slicing, called ACCS-Trans. In the first stage of the model, we use segmentation and clustering operations to distinguish the special morphology of insects in those few-shot life stages. The model can avoid the interference of few-sample abnormal morphology on the class feature extraction of the current class during training. The second stage is the cross slicing module, which uses the anchor box of the image sample segmentation region in the first stage to cut the original sample image to form the main target image, which is used as the information supplement area of the original image. Finally, the image is divided into doubling patch groups by two vertical patch operations. In the third stage, we concatenate the multiplication patch group and input it into the Vision Transformer network for class feature extraction. We fully experiment with ACCS-Trans on two insect image datasets. Compared with the current mainstream fine-grained image classification models, ACCS- Trans achieves state-of-the-art effects on both datasets, and we do ablation experiments for each module. The effect of each module on our ACCS- Trans is analyzed. The excellent performance of our ACCS- Trans in insect scenes is verified in these experiments, these provide new ideas for the task of fine-grained classification of insect images. © 2024 IEEE.

A supervised ranking model, despite its effectiveness over traditional approaches, usually involves complex processing - typically multiple stages of task-specific pre-training and fine-tuning. This has motivated researchers to explore simpler pipelines leveraging large language models (LLMs) that can work in a zero-shot manner. However, since zero-shot inference does not make use of a training set of pairs of queries and their relevant documents, its performance is mostly worse than that of supervised models, which are trained on such example pairs. Motivated by the existing findings that training examples generally improve zero-shot performance, in our work, we explore if this also applies to ranking models. More specifically, given a query and a pair of documents, the preference prediction task is improved by augmenting examples of preferences for similar queries from a training set. Our proposed pairwise few-shot ranker demonstrates consistent improvements over the zero-shot baseline on both in-domain (TREC DL) and out-domain (BEIR subset) retrieval benchmarks. Our method also achieves a close performance to that of a supervised model without requiring any complex training pipeline. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Dance movement accuracy prediction is a critical component of modern dance training, yet traditional methods often lack objectivity due to the subjective nature of evaluations and the complexity of human movement. To address these challenges this paper introduces MoveMatch, which is a web-based platform built for real-time dance movement prediction. By leveraging deep learning techniques, the platform performs posture estimation in real-time and detects key points. The system compares the detected poses using Euclidean distance to calculate the alignment between corresponding key points which provides a quantitative measure of the user's accuracy. Based on this comparison, MoveMatch delivers real-time feedback, offering an accuracy score and personalized suggestions for improvement. This immediate feedback fosters a more efficient and engaging learning experience for dancers. Extensive testing of MoveMatch in various dance styles demonstrates its effectiveness in objectively assessing performance, enhancing both training quality and accessibility. The integration of pose estimation, deep learning and real-time comparison offers a novel, user-friendly solution for dancers seeking to improve their skills, transforming traditional dance education with AI-driven insights. © 2025 IEEE.

This study presents an adaptive online learning method for text classification under distribution shifts. We formulate a typical neural network-based text classification model as multiple logical modules. By leveraging the characteristics of the modules, we introduce three novel indicators to effectively measure the degree of dynamic distribution shifts without evaluating the model. To enhance online learning, we tactically trade off between learning efficiency and accuracy based on distribution shifts measured in real time. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first effort to adapt the model to the preference of learning efficiency or accuracy for online text classification. Extensive experiments on real-world streaming text datasets show that our method outperforms the best static update strategy and state-of-the-art online text classification models. This study addresses the challenges faced in personalized tutoring within large-scale programming courses, such as significant ability gaps among students, limited available resources, among others. For these reasons, we proposed an intelligent programming assistant, ProgMate, based on large language models (LLMs). Benefitting from the robust understanding and learning capabilities of LLM, ProgMate not only comprehensively monitors the learning process, but can also surpass human teaching in aspects such as intelligent assignment grading, identification of knowledge gaps, and assessment of learning abilities. ProgMate embodies a new 4-A digital teaching paradigm, characterized by its ability to provide precise guidance with anything, to anyone, anywhere, at any time, with features like 'omnipresence', 'adaptive guidance' and 'customization'. It facilitates the organic integration of collective teaching and individualized guidance, continuous learning, and long-term development, as well as resource efficiency and precision nurturing, offering a viable path and empirical support for the digital transformation of future education. © 2024 IEEE.

Through early intervention and individualized treatment plans, timely disease detection and personalized healthcare can advance patient results and reduce healthcare costs. With the aim to categorize medical conditions, we present a dataset in this study that includes blood sample parameters like haemoglobin, cholesterol, and glucose. To analyse these parameters, we created a three-layered artificial neural network (ANN). Achieving an accuracy of 93.42% on the test set, the ANN was trained and validated on the dataset. With the aim of reducing overfitting and enhance model generalization, dropout layers were added. Furthermore, a comparative analysis with various optimizers was carried out. The results highlight the ANN's potential as a means for timly diagnosis, personalized healthcare, improving patient outcomes and lowering long-term healthcare costs. They also demonstrate the ANN's ability to accurately classify diseases. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper aims to address the difficulties faced by novice programmers in grasping code structure and execution flow, improving programming thinking, and pinpointing code errors with accuracy. It proposes providing students with program behavior diagrams based on large language models (LLMs) and visualization techniques to achieve personalized guidance. Specifically, these program behavior diagrams include programming thinking visualization diagrams and code vulnerability visualization diagrams. A programming thinking visualization diagram employs static code analysis to gather code structure information, combined with the structured chain-of-thought method to collectively optimize the LLM. This enables the LLM to explain each interpretable part of the code from top to bottom, detailing the programming concepts, and displaying them on a modularized code structure diagram. The code vulnerability visualization diagram primarily utilizes the fine-tuned LLM, optimizing it based on program analysis and clustering analysis methods to accurately identify vulnerabilities in student code and display them on a code flow diagram. Its feature is to visually display to students the error location, error information, and the impact of errors on program flow, rather than providing the programming answers. Lastly, through experiments and statistical analysis of actual teaching data, this paper serves a demonstration that the enhanced models used in the visualization diagram generation process have a noticeable effect on mainstream LLMs, and that visualization diagrams hold significant value for students at different stages of learning. © 2024 IEEE.
