Label Propagation Algorithm (LPA) predicts what label a node in a graph has by its accumulated label information after iteratively propagating label information among adjacent nodes. Subsequent studies of LPA try to assign weights on connections to adjust the propagation between different node pairs. However, such approaches still rely on the assumption that adjacent nodes should have similar labels. To predict when the label distribution may differ from this assumption, we propose Residual Label Propagation (ResLPA). It approximates residuals between labels with node features, then adds the approximated residuals to the label information as corrections before propagating. In experiments on five real-world graphs, ResLPA matches or exceeds state-of-the-art LPA-based methods, GCN-based methods and their integrations. © 2021 ACM.

Score-based generative models are a new class of generative algorithms that have been shown to produce realistic images even in high dimensional spaces, currently surpassing other state-of-the-art models for different benchmark categories and applications. In this work we introduce caloscore, a score-based generative model for collider physics applied to calorimeter shower generation. Three different diffusion models are investigated using the Fast Calorimeter Simulation Challenge 2022 dataset. caloscore is the first application of a score-based generative model in collider physics and is able to produce high-fidelity calorimeter images for all datasets, providing an alternative paradigm for calorimeter shower simulation.

When implementing zero-trust edge computing, offloading computational tasks and data access through traditional model training and usage approaches can lead to increased latency. Since the traditional methods often involve extensive communication with a central server, creating additional network hopping stations/nodes resulting in increased latency. The challenge is bound to allocate a befitting resource at a given consumer demand. In this proposed system, a federated learning model based data offloading and consumer medical resource recommendation of IoT is discussed and validated. The user/consumer group and local training models are aligned with edge servers for data preprocessing and customization with a series of resources demand creation and coordination. The consumer resource allocating priorities are fine-grained with the proposed blockchain based priority analyzer for recommendation and allocation. The computational parameter such as resource pool, average waiting time, energy consumption and transmission trust delays are observed and validated. The proposed framework fetches consumer resources logs and synchronizes the centralized training model for effective scheduling and allocation of resources with an accuracy of 94.92% under the 5G operating spectrum. The technique has demonstrated minimal latency in offloading the data request demand and resource allocation at the cloud servers. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Microcomputers and medical devices with signal transceivers that operate on a specific radio display constitute the backbone of wireless sensor networks (WS Ns) that monitor environmental conditions (temperature, pressure, light, vibration levels, location). It is widely used in WAN sensor networks because of its flexible design and low setup fees. The u200b touch network allows for the connection of up to 65,000 devices, while the Intelligent sensors on other wireless networks are used to transfer data ports and assign wireless networks. Since the price of wireless solutions has been decreasing, and their functional capabilities have been growing, they are gradually replacing wired ones in telemetry data gathering systems and long- distance detecting communication. A deep learning model was used in this investigation to prevent the sensor nodes from manipulating data. Sensor nodes include a lot of parameters and estimations. If these projected data values are altered, network performance will suffer, and the node's lifetime will be reduced. data security became a priority when the sensor nodes were distributed. This new method is 98.82% more efficient than the previous one.

A Hybrid Continuity Loss to Reduce Over-Suppression for Time-domain Target Speaker Extraction

The speaker extraction algorithm extracts the target speech from a mixture speech containing interference speech and background noise. The extraction process sometimes over-suppresses the extracted target speech, which not only creates artifacts during listening but also harms the performance of downstream automatic speech recognition algorithms. We propose a hybrid continuity loss function for time-domain speaker extraction algorithms to settle the over-suppression problem. On top of the waveform-level loss used for superior signal quality, i.e., SI-SDR, we introduce a multi-resolution delta spectrum loss in the frequency-domain, to ensure the continuity of an extracted speech signal, thus alleviating the over-suppression. We examine the hybrid continuity loss function using a time-domain audio-visual speaker extraction algorithm on the YouTube LRS2-BBC dataset. Experimental results show that the proposed loss function reduces the over-suppression and improves the word error rate of speech recognition on both clean and noisy two-speakers mixtures, without harming the reconstructed speech quality. The autonomous decision-making capabilities of cyber-physical systems (CPS) establish key elements that optimize the management of resources while distributing tasks and maximizing system operational efficiency. Deep Q-Learning (DQN) represents one approach along with Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TD3) and Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) that demonstrates capability in handling decision tasks. The existing models face multiple implementation challenges including inaccurate Q-value estimations weak multi-agent relationships and restricted scalability for dynamic systems. The inadequate performance of present methods for energy efficiency and latency alongside poor collaborative coordination led to the necessity of developing a new approach. The new framework DDQN-MAC takes double-deep Q-Learning and combines it with multi-agent collaboration technology to enhance decision-making abilities specific to challenging environments. The method solves overestimation bias through separate action selection and evaluation processes that use multi-agent collaboration for dynamic task distribution and resource control. The designed model demonstrates enhanced performance in multiple critical evaluation measures. Benchmarks indicate that DDQN-MAC attained a superior completion rate of 95.4% while demonstrating reduced latency performance at 12.5 ms versus the other methods DQN (18.7 ms) and Multi-Agent PPO (92.3%). The research provides fundamental groundwork to guide upcoming investigations in hybrid model development while advancing complex multi-agent system capabilities for enhanced autonomous navigational choices within variable operational environments.

Statistics on migration flows are often derived from census data, which suffer from intrinsic limitations, including costs and infrequent sampling. When censuses are used, there is typically a time gap - up to a few years - between the data collection process and the computation and publication of relevant statistics. This gap is a significant drawback for the analysis of a phenomenon that is continuously and rapidly changing. Alternative data sources, such as surveys and field observations, also suffer from reliability, costs, and scale limitations. The ubiquity of mobile phones enables an accurate and efficient collection of up-to-date data related to migration. Indeed, passively collected data by the mobile network infrastructure via aggregated, pseudonymized Call Detail Records (CDRs) is of great value to understand human migrations. Through the analysis of mobile phone data, we can shed light on the mobility patterns of migrants, detect spontaneous settlements and understand the daily habits, levels of integration, and human connections of such vulnerable social groups. This Chapter discusses the importance of leveraging mobile phone data as an alternative data source to gather precious and previously unavailable insights on various aspects of migration. Also, we highlight pending challenges that would need to be addressed before we can effectively benefit from the availability of mobile phone data to help make better decisions that would ultimately improve millions of people's lives. In this paper, a semantic communication framework for image transmission is investigated. In the framework, a server transmits image data to a set of users utilizing semantic communication techniques, which enable the server to transmit only the semantic information that accurately captures the meaning of an image. To evaluate the performance of the studied semantic communication system, we propose a multimodal metric called image-to-graph semantic similarity (ISS). The significance of this new metric is that it can measure the correlation of the meaning between semantic information and the original image. To meet the ISS requirement of each user, the server must jointly determine the semantic information to be transmitted and the resource blocks (RBs) used for semantic information transmission. We formulate this problem as an optimization problem whose goal is to minimize the average transmission latency while reaching the ISS requirement. To solve this problem, we propose a model-based actor critic deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm. Compared to traditional actor critic DRL, in the proposed algorithm, we design a novel value function to improve the action exploration thus improving the probability of finding an optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed method can reduce the transmission delay by 16.4% and improves the convergence speed by up to 50% compared to the traditional actor critic DRL.

Given a set P of n points in R 2 , in general position, denote by N 2 ( P ) the number of empty triangles with vertices in P . In this paper we investigate by how much N 2 ( P ) changes if a point x is removed from P . By constructing a graph G 2 ( x , P ) based on the arrangement of the empty triangles incident on x , we transform this geometric problem to the problem of counting triangles in the graph G 2 ( x , P ) . We study properties of the graph G 2 ( x , P ) and, in particular, show that it is diamond-free. This relates the growth rate of the number of empty triangles to the famous Ruzsa–Szemerédi problem. We also derive similar bounds for the growth rate of the number of empty simplices for point sets in R d .

The evolution of online social media has reshaped public behaviors, and social data infused with emotions provides crucial decision support for sentiment analysis tasks. Conventional multimodal approaches, influenced by redundant information in feature extraction during sentiment analysis, often focus solely on modality interactions without considering the unique content of each modality. This paper introduces the HGB-HFN model, addressing feature redundancy by optimizing extracted features using metaheuristic algorithm techniques, achieving a higher accuracy optimal feature dataset at lower computational costs. To counteract the neglect of modal-independent information, a hybrid fusion approach is adopted. It prioritizes visual features to extract precise semantic and emotional information from textual content, training multiple base classifiers to learn independent and diverse discriminative information. Comparative experiments on streaming datasets MOSI and MOSEI demonstrate the computational approach’s superiority in both accuracy and efficiency over existing methods.
