Community websites bring many conveniences to people, and the classification of community content is playing an important role in website management and information searching. As the carrier of community content, posts are difficult to classify manually. According to the characteristics of community content, a hybrid classification model for machine learning is proposed. This model consists of three steps. Firstly, aiming at the problem of fewer features of posts, a weighted word vector is proposed to enrich the features of posts. Secondly, since the single kernel function of SVM can not completely match all data distributions, a mixed kernel function is employed to improve the model. Finally, in order to fully utilize the powerful feature extraction ability of Convolutional Neural Network as well as the classification ability of SVM, a hybrid model is designed and implemented by replacing softmax layer with SVM classifier. The corresponding experiment results indicate that compared with traditional Convolutional Neural Network, the proposed hybrid model has better performance and stability with classification accuracy improved from 0.9% to 1.4% in general. © 2021 IEEE.

The real academic network belongs to a heterogeneous network, therefore, for the link prediction tasks, some information on the network may be lost if only using homogeneous network methods. In order to make good use of the rich semantic information in a heterogeneous network for better predicting the cooperative relationship between scholars, this paper proposes a cooperative relationship prediction (CoRP) model. The CoRP model includes the following three steps. Firstly, a structural feature extraction module is designed based on meta path by using the similarity metric function to measure the meta path similarity between scholars. Secondly, to overcome the defects that the existing methods usually ignore the attribute information on nodes, three attribute feature presentation functions are constructed to fully utilize the attribute information of scholars in the academic network. In the end, a machine learning classifier which combines the structural similarity and attribute similarity is utilized to learn each attribute feature and complete the task of cooperative relationship prediction. The experimental results reveal that compared with the benchmark method, the proposed method has better performance and interpretability with improvement from 3% to 10% of AUC value for the AMiner academic data set. © 2021 IEEE.

Burst-Sensitive Traffic Forecast via Multi-Property Personalized Fusion in Federated Learning

For distributed network traffic prediction with data localization and privacy protection, Federated Learning (FL) enables collaborative training without raw data exchange across Base Stations (BSs). Nevertheless, traffic across BSs exhibit inherently heterogeneous trend burst and smooth fluctuation properties, but existing FL methods model single-scale series from only one view, which cannot simultaneously capture diverse trend and fluctuation properties, especially distinct burst distributions. In this paper, we propose Personalized Federated Forecasting with Multi-property Self-fusion (P2FMS), which can represent multi-scale traffic properties from different views. With precise multi-property representations, a fusion-level prediction decision is learned for each client in a personalized manner to promptly sense traffic bursts and improve forecasting performance in non-IID settings. Specifically, P2FMS decomposes the traffic series into distinct time scales, based on which, we effectively extract closeness, period, and trend properties from different views. The closeness and period are embedded through global-view representations with spatial correlations, while non-stationary trends are individually fitted from the client-side view. Furthermore, a personalized combiner is designed to accurately quantify the proportion of general fluctuation raws (i.e., closeness and period) and specific trend property in predictions, which enables multi-property self-fusion for each client to accommodate heterogeneous traffic patterns and enhance prediction accuracy. Besides, an alternant training mechanism is introduced to optimize property representation and fusion modules with the convergence guarantee. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets show that P2FMS outperforms status quo methods in both prediction performance and convergence time. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) play a significant role in multiple complex human diseases. In order to understand disease pathogenesis at the molecular level, identifying potential associations between piRNAs and diseases accurately is very critical. The computational methods provide a cost-reducing strategy for biological wet experiments. Several computational methods have been proposed, however, most of them still adopted traditional machine learning methods. It is still a challenge for them to deal with the complex and non-linear data. Identifying associations between piRNA-disease is a link prediction task in the heterogeneous network constructed by piRNAs, diseases, and the existing verified associations between them. In this study, a computational method named PDA-GCN is proposed based on Graph Convolution Network (GCN). GCN performance well in aggregate complex information hidden in the heterogeneous network. PDA-GCN adopt 2-layer GCNs to extract features form three aspects. Experiment results show that PDA-GCN achieves superior performance comparing with state-of-the-art methods.

Automating the synthesis of User Interfaces (UIs) plays a crucial role in enhancing productivity and accelerating the development lifecycle, reducing both development time and manual effort. Recently, the rapid development of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) has made it possible to generate front-end Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code directly from webpage designs. However, real-world webpages encompass not only a diverse array of HTML tags but also complex stylesheets, resulting in significantly lengthy code. The lengthy code poses challenges for the performance and efficiency of MLLMs, especially in capturing the structural information of UI designs. To address these challenges, this paper proposes UICopilot, a novel approach to automating UI synthesis via hierarchical code generation from webpage designs. The core idea of UICopilot is to decompose the generation process into two stages: first, generating the coarse-grained HTML hierarchical structure, followed by the generation of fine-grained code. To validate the effectiveness of UICopilot, we conduct experiments on a real-world dataset, i.e., WebCode2M. Experimental results demonstrate that UICopilot significantly outperforms existing baselines in both automatic evaluation metrics and human evaluations. Specifically, statistical analysis reveals that the majority of human annotators prefer the webpages generated by UICopilot over those produced by GPT-4V. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

DCSim: Computing and Networking Integration based Container Scheduling Simulator for data Centers

The increasing prevalence of cloud-native technologies, particularly containers, has led to the widespread adoption of containerized deployments in data centers. The advancement of deep neural network models has increased the demand for container-based distributed model training and inference, where frequent data transmission among nodes has emerged as a significant performance bottleneck. However, traditional container scheduling simulators often overlook the influence of network modeling on the efficiency of container scheduling, primarily concentrating on modeling computational resources. In this paper, we focus on a container scheduling simulator based on collaboration between computing and networking within data centers. We propose a new container scheduling simulator for data centers, named DCSim. The simulator consists of several modules: a data center module, a network simulation module, a container scheduling module, a discrete event-driven module, and a data collection and analysis module. Together, these modules provide heterogeneous computing power modeling and dynamic network simulation capabilities. We design a discrete event model using SimPy to represent various aspects of container processing, including container requests, scheduling, execution, pauses, communication, migration, and termination within data centers. Among these, lightweight virtualization technology based on Mininet is employed to construct a software-defined network. An experimental environment for container scheduling simulation was established, and functional and performance tests were conducted on the simulator to validate its scheduling simulation capabilities. Proper ripeness categorization of oil palm fresh fruit bunches is essential to ensure they are harvested at the optimal stage to maximize oil output. The current manual method of ripeness assessment, which relies on harvesters visually inspecting the fruit's color, is both labor-intensive and prone to human error. To address these limitations, there is a growing need for an automated classification system that leverages artificial intelligence. The manual classification process is cumbersome and susceptible to inaccuracies due to its reliance on subjective visual inspection. This labor-intensive approach increases the likelihood of human error, underscoring the necessity for a more reliable and efficient automated solution. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the feasibility of using Convolutional Neural Networks for automating the grading based on color. A dataset was compiled from various sources and augmented using a data generator. The model was constructed incorporating a transfer learning approach with an Xception model. The model achieved an overall accuracy of 80.4%. Visualization of the model using activation maps confirmed that the model can effectively classify the color, indicating its potential viability for the task. © 2024 IEEE.

Air pollution demonstrates the appearance of toxins into the air which is blocking human prosperity and the earth. It will portray as potentially the riskiest threats that humanity anytime faced. It makes hurt animals, harvests to thwart these issues in transportation territories need to expect air quality from pollutions utilizing AI systems and IoT. Along these lines, air quality evaluation and assumption has become a huge target for human health factors and also affect internal organs related to respiratory. The accuracy of Air Pollution prediction has been involved with the machine learning techniques and the best accuracy model is identified. The air quality prediction dataset is used for identifying the meteorology air pollution data while the predicted model is involved the decision tree computation for predicting the toxin contents in the region, the Air quality indicator is used to assess the pollution level and monitoring the air quality. The performance analysis shows that the decision tree technique has produced the better results in the performance metrics of Accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score with the minimized error values while the comparative evaluation of Attribute-enabled classification has identified the best technique for predicting the air quality.

Since the advent of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, blockchain, as their underlying technologies,has drawn a massive amount of attention from both academia and the industry. This ever-evolving technology inherits the “genes” of distributed systems, offering significant advantages of immutability, transparency,auditability, and tamper-resistance. These benefits help blockchain re-establish public confidence, and hold the significant promise of reliable information sharing and value transfer. Therefore, blockchain has become the foundation of crucial strategic deployments in countries across the world, and the fundamental basis for building the next generation Web 3.0 — “Internet of value”. In this article, we will start with unraveling the essential ingredients of blockchain technology, and showing the characteristics of each of these ingredients in the context of distributed systems. We will then present the core technical challenges that need to be addressed prior to unleashing its full potential, including its performance, scalability, and cross-chain interoperability. Finally, we will introduce the recent developments of blockchain systems, and discuss the future trends of the blockchain ecosystem.
