Hyperbolic Neural Network Based Preselection for Expensive Multi-Objective Optimization

A series of surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms (SAEAs) have been proposed for expensive multi-objective optimization problems (EMOPs), building cheap surrogate models to replace the expensive real function evaluations. However, the search efficiency of these SAEAs is not yet satisfactory. More efforts are needed to further exploit useful information from the real function evaluations in order to better guide the search process. Facing this challenge, this paper proposes a Hyperbolic Neural Network (HNN) based preselection operator to accelerate the optimization process based on limited evaluated solutions. First, the preselection task is modeled as a multi-label classification problem where solutions are classified into different layers (ordinal categories) through -relaxed objective aggregation. Second, in order to resemble the hierarchical structure of candidate solutions, a hyperbolic neural network is applied to tackle the multi-label classification problem. The reason for using HNN is that hyperbolic spaces more closely resemble hierarchical structures than Euclidean spaces. Moreover, to alleviate the data deficiency issue, a data augmentation strategy is employed for training the HNN. In order to evaluate its performance, the proposed HNN-based preselection operator is embedded into two surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms. Experimental results on two benchmark test suites and three real-world problems with up to 11 objectives and 150 decision variables involving seven state-of-the-art algorithms demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. GPS trajectories are the essential foundations for many trajectory-based applications. Most applications require a large number of high sample rate trajectories to achieve a good performance. However, many real-life trajectories are collected with low sample rate due to energy concern or other constraints. We study the task of trajectory recovery in this paper as a means to increase the sample rate of low sample trajectories. Most existing works on trajectory recovery follow a sequence-to-sequence diagram, with an encoder to encode a trajectory and a decoder to recover real GPS points in the trajectory. However, these works ignore the topology of road network and only use grid information or raw GPS points as input. Therefore, the encoder model is not able to capture rich spatial information of the GPS points along the trajectory, making the prediction less accurate and less spatial consistent. In this paper, we propose a road network enhanced transformer-based framework, namely RNTrajRec, for trajectory recovery. RNTrajRec first uses a graph model, namely GridGNN, to learn the embedding features of each road segment. It next develops a spatial-temporal transformer model, namely GPSFormer, to learn rich spatial and temporal features along with a Sub-Graph Generation module to capture the spatial features for each GPS point in the trajectory. It finally forwards the outputs of encoder model to a multi-task decoder model to recover the missing GPS points. Extensive experiments based on three large-scale real-life trajectory datasets confirm the effectiveness of our approach.

Multimodal Sentiment Analysis is a burgeoning research area, leveraging various modalities to predict the sentiment score. Nevertheless, previous studies have disregarded the impact of noise interference on specific modal sentiments during video recording, thereby compromising the accuracy of sentiment prediction. In this paper, we propose the Guided Circular Decomposition and Cross-Modal Recombination (GCD-CMR) model, which aims to eliminate contaminated sentiment features in a fine-grained way. To achieve this, we utilize tailored global information specific to each modality to guide the circular decomposing process in the GCD module, to produce a set of sentiment prototypes. Subsequently, in the CMR module, we align cross-modal sentiment prototypes and remove the contaminated prototypes for recombination. Experimental results on two publicly available datasets demonstrate that our model surpasses state-of-the-art models, confirming the effectiveness of our proposed method. Intelligence is an important trend in the development of measurement and control systems. However, there is still a lack of unified understanding of the intelligent autonomous classification of the measurement and control system. The establishment of intelligent evaluation standards in this field has become an urgent research topic. This paper first gives an overview of the aviation measurement and control system, and then takes the classification standards of autonomy in the fields of automobile driving automation in China and the United states, the autonomy and autonomy level of typical ships in China, and the automation of civil unmanned aircraft system in China as a reference. A 5-level intelligent grading standard based on task adaptability, environmental complexity and human-computer interaction is proposed. The classification standard is practical and easy to understand. It can provide reference for the establishment of intelligent standards for measurement and control systems, improve the application speed of intelligent autonomous technology in the field of measurement and control, and broaden the application prospect of intelligent measurement and control systems.

How to schedule public resources to maximize the coverage of crowds has always been a hot topic. There are mainly two types of research. One is the scheduling of static resources, whose coverage efficiency is lower because the resources cannot be moved; the other is the dynamic scheduling of movable public resources, but the existing methods require additional devices to collect crowd volume data. To address this issue, this article introduces a new category of mobile agents that can sense and execute simultaneously. This means that an agent can simultaneously perform crowd volume data collection tasks and crowds coverage tasks in its area. Taking these multi-ability agents as public resources, this article proposes a scheduling method called GE-STMC (Greedy Execute - Spatial and Temporal Monte-Carlo dropout). The method considers the spatiotemporal correlation between areas and evaluates the sensing value and the executing value of areas comprehensively to allocate the agents accordingly. Through the experimental on the real data of Beijing Happy Valley, this method can get 16% larger crowds volume coverage than other baseline methods with the same number of agents.

Hair editing is a critical image synthesis task that aims to edit hair color and hairstyle using text descriptions or reference images, while preserving irrelevant attributes (e.g., identity, background, cloth). Many existing methods are based on StyleGAN to address this task. However, due to the limited spatial distribution of StyleGAN, it struggles with multiple hair color editing and facial preservation. Considering the advancements in diffusion models, we utilize Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) for hairstyle editing. Our approach introduces Multi-stage Hairstyle Blend (MHB), effectively separating control of hair color and hairstyle in diffusion latent space. Additionally, we train a warping module to align the hair color with the target region. To further enhance multi-color hairstyle editing, we fine-tuned a CLIP model using a multi-color hairstyle dataset. Our method not only tackles the complexity of multi-color hairstyles but also addresses the challenge of preserving original colors during diffusion editing. Extensive experiments showcase the superiority of our method in editing multi-color hairstyles while preserving facial attributes given textual descriptions and reference images.

Community detection is widely used in network analysis, which seeks to divide network nodes into distinct communities based on the topology structure and attribute information of the network. Due to its interpretability, nonnegative matrix factorization becomes an essential method for community detection. However, it decomposes the adjacency matrix and attribute matrix separately, which do not tightly incorporate topology and attributes. And in the problem of division inconsistency based on topology and attributes caused by the mismatch between the topology similarity and attribute similarity of paired nodes, it ignores the difference in the matching degree of each attribute and each node. In this paper, we propose a nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm for community detection (MTACD) based on the matching degree between topology and attribute. First, we employ an attribute embedding mechanism to enhance the node-attribute relationship. Second, we design an attribute matching degree and a node topology-and-attribute matching degree in order to resolve the mismatch between topology and attribute similarity. Graph neural networks have shown excellent performance in many fields owing to their powerful processing ability of graph data. In recent years, federated graph neural network has become a reasonable solution due to the enactment of privacy-related regulations. However, frequent communication between the coordinator and participants in federated graph neural network results in longer model training time and consumes many communication resources. To address this challenge, in this paper, we propose a novel semi-asynchronous federated graph learning communication protocol that simultaneously alleviates the negative impact of stragglers(slow participants) and accelerate the training process in the unsupervised federated graph neural network scenario. First, the weighted enforced synchronization strategy is intended to preserve the information carried by stragglers while preventing their stale models from harming the global model update. Second, the adaptive local update strategy is developed to make the local model of the participant with poor computing performance as close as possible to the global model. Experiments combine federated learning with graph contrastive learning. The results demonstrate that our proposed protocol outperforms the existing protocols in real-world networks. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The purpose of domain adaptation is to transfer knowledge learned in the labeled source domain to unlabeled but related target domains without requiring a large number of target domain labels. The latest method of domain adaptation mainly adjusts the distribution of the source and target domains to adapt to the target domain. Despite significant success, when there are significant distribution differences between the source and target domains, the adaptability in the target domain still decreases, which may be due to insufficient exploration of domain specific features leading to domain offset issues. To address this issue, we propose the GSA-NET framework in this article. We designed an adversarial dropout method to improve the generalization performance of the model in the target domain by pushing the decision boundary away from the feature dense region. At the same time, in order to effectively match the distribution of advanced features across domains, we deploy feature adaptation modules before the classification layer, which can significantly reduce domain differences. Our experiments on two cross domain benchmarks, Office Home and Office-31, have shown that the proposed method is significantly superior to existing methods.

In order to achieve more efficient and accurate DDoS detection while ensuring data privacy, this paper proposes a DDoS detection method based on FLAD. Firstly, this paper uses the FLAD algorithm to train a global DDoS detection model without leaving local traffic data, protecting the privacy and security of traffic data between different hosts, and improving aggregation efficiency by dynamically adjusting the aggregation weights to adapt to different sub-dataset increments. Secondly, a DDoS traffic detection method based on the integration of LSTM and CNN is proposed, which extracts and analyzes the temporal correlation of traffic data by calculating the statistical characteristics of traffic data within a time period, to achieve real-time detection of traffic feature data. Again, combined with the concept of SDN, real-time defense against DDoS based on ODL-API is implemented, and precise matching of DDoS detection results with network entity information is achieved, realizing the technology of real-time and precise issuance of multiple flow rules, effectively blocking DDoS malicious attack traffic, protecting important entities in the topology, and maintaining stable traffic in the topology. This paper focuses on solving the detection problem of DDoS traffic data increments and uneven data distribution through the FLAD algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of DDoS attack detection by more than 4% and the F1 Score by more than 7% compared to the FedAvg aggregation algorithm.
