Coal mine safety evaluation method based on incomplete labeled data stream classification

Monitoring data in coal mine is essentially data stream, and missing coal mine monitoring data is caused by harsh coal mine environment, therefore coal mine safety evaluation can be seen as incomplete labeled data stream classification. The method is proposed for unlabeled data and concept drift in incomplete labeled data stream in this paper that uses semi-supervised learning method based on k-Modes algorithm and incremental decision tree model and concept drift detection mechanism based on clustering concept-cluster. Experimental results show the method can better label unlabeled data and detect concept drift in incomplete labeled data stream, and it has better classification accuracy for incomplete labeled data stream, and it provides a new practical approach for coal mine safety evaluation. © Gang et al.

Adding to societal changes today, are the miscellaneous big data produced in different fields. Coupled with these data is the appearance of risk management. Admittedly, to predict future trend by using these data is conducive to make everything more efficient and easy. Now, no matter companies or individuals, they increasingly focus on identifying risks and managing them before risks. Effective risk management will lead them to deal with potential problems. This thesis focuses on risk management of flight delay area using big real time data. It proposes two different prediction models, one is called General Long Term Departure Prediction Model and the other is named as Improved Real Time Arrival Prediction Model. By studying the main factors lead to flight delay, this thesis takes weather, carrier, National Aviation System, security and previous late aircraft as analysis factors. By utilizing our models can do not only long time but also short term flight delay predictions. The results demonstrate goodness of fit. Besides the theory part, it also presents a practical and beautiful web application for real time flight arrival prediction based on our second model.

With the enormous growth of online reviews in Internet, sentiment analysis has received more and more attention in information retrieval and natural language processing community. Up to now there are very few researches conducted on sentiment analysis for Persian documents. This paper considers the problem of sentiment classification for online customer reviews in Persian language. One of the challenges of Persian language is using of a wide variety of declensional suffixes. Another common problem of Persian text is word spacing. In Persian in addition to white space as interwords space, an intra-word space called pseudo-space separates word's part. One more noticeable challenge in customer reviews in Persian language is that of utilizing many informal or colloquial words in text. In this paper we study these challenges by proposing a model for sentiment classification of Persian review documents. The proposed model is based on a lemmatization approach for Persian language and is employed Naive Bayes learning algorithm for classification. Additionally we present a new feature selection method based on the mutual information method to extract the best feature collection from the initial extracted features. Finally we evaluate the performance of the model on a manually gathered collection of cellphone reviews, where the results show the effectiveness of the proposed model.

While most digital collections have limited forms of change - primarily creation and deletion of additional resources - there exists a class of digital collections that undergoes additional kinds of change. These collections are made up of resources that are distributed across the Internet and brought together into a collection via hyperlinking. Resources in these collections can be expected to change as time goes on. Part of the difficulty in maintaining these collections is determining if a changed page is still a valid member of the collection. Others have tried to address this problem by measuring change and defining a maximum allowed threshold of change, however, these methods treat all change as a potential problem and treat web content as a static document despite its intrinsically dynamic nature. Instead, we approach the significance of change on the web as a normal part of a web document's life-cycle and determine the difference between what a maintainer expects a page to do and what it actually does. In this work we evaluate the different options for extractors and analyzers in order to determine the best options from a suite of techniques. The evaluation used a human-generated ground-truth set of blog changes. The results of this work showed a statistically significant improvement over a range of traditional threshold techniques when applied to our collection of tagged blog changes. © 2012 ACM.

The Ensemble Portal harvests resources from multiple heterogeneous federated collections. Managing these dynamically increasing collections requires an automatic mechanism to categorize records in to corresponding topics. We propose an approach to use existing ACM DL metadata to build classifiers for harvested resources in the Ensemble project. We also present our experience with utilizing the Amazon Mechanical Turk platform to build ground truth training data sets from Ensemble collections. © 2012 ACM.

This paper presents a prototype of an authoring tool to allow users to collaboratively build, annotate, manage, share and reuse collections of distributed resources from the World Wide Web. This extends on the Walden's Path project's work to help educators bring resources found on the World Wide Web into a linear contextualized structure. The introduction of collaborative authoring feature fosters collaborative learning activities through social interaction among participants, where participants can coauthor paths in groups. Besides, the prototype supports path sharing, branching and reusing;specifically, individual participant can contribute to the group with private collections of knowledge resources;paths completed by group can be shared among group members, such that participants can tailor, extend, reorder and/or replace nodes to have sub versions of shared paths for different information needs. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

MicroRNAs can regulate hundreds of target genes and play a pivotal role in a broad range of biological process. However, relatively little is known about how these highly connected miRNAs-target networks are remodelled in the context of various diseases. Here we examine the dynamic alteration of context-specific miRNA regulation to determine whether modified microRNAs regulation on specific biological processes is a useful information source for predicting cancer prognosis. A new concept, Context-specific miRNA activity (CoMi activity) is introduced to describe the statistical difference between the expression level of a miRNA's target genes and non-targets genes within a given gene set (context).

This paper represents a technique, applying user action patterns in order to distinguish between users and identify them. In this method, users' actions sequences are mapped to numerical sequences and each user's profile is generated using autocorrelation values. Next, cross-correlation is used to compare user profiles with a test data. To evaluate our proposed method, a dataset known as Greenberg's dataset is used. The presented approach is succeeded to detect the correct user with as high as 82.3% accuracy over a set of 52 users. In comparison to the existing methods based on Hidden Markov Model or Neural Networks, our method needs less computation time and space. In addition, it has the ability of getting updated iteratively which is a main factor to facilitate transferability. © 2010 IFIP.

Mobility information of cell phone users is very important for wide range of applications, including context-based search and advertising, early warning systems, city-wide sensing applications such as air pollution exposure estimation and traffic planning. With the inclusion of new technologies in the cell phone hardware such as built-in GPS and 802.11 supports, mobility information are easily captured, managed and forwarded to a remote system via opportunistic connections over Internet. However, it is very difficult to use these low level location data for practical applications due to lack of sufficient information including high level location and temporal data. In order to solve this problem, we propose a Web based mobility analysis system which collects location data from cell phone users via opportunistic Internet connections and convert these low level location data to high level mobility information as well as adding a temporal dimension. In our experiments, we have illustrated the benefits of our systems on the reality mining data set which contains 350 K hours of real cell tower connection data.
