Media power,the impact that media have on public opinion and perspectives,plays a significant role in maintaining internal stability,exerting external influence,and shaping international dynamics for nations/***,prior research has primarily concentrated on news content and reporting time,resulting in limitations in evaluating media *** more accurately assess media power,we use news content,news reporting time,and news emotion simultaneously to explore the emotional contagion between *** use emotional contagion to measure the mutual influence between media and regard the media with greater impact as having stronger media *** propose a framework called Measuring Media Power via Emotional Contagion(MMPEC)to capture emotional contagion among media,enabling a more accurate assessment of media power at the media and national/regional *** also interprets experimental results through correlation and causality analyses,ensuring *** analyses confirm the higher accuracy of MMPEC compared to other baseline models,as demonstrated in the context of COVID-19-related news,yielding compelling and interesting insights.

Few-shot font generation (FFG) aims to learn the target style from a limited number of reference glyphs and generate the remaining glyphs in the target font. Previous works focus on disentangling the content and style features of glyphs, combining the content features of the source glyph with the style features of the reference glyph to generate new glyphs. However, the disentanglement is challenging due to the complexity of glyphs, often resulting in glyphs that are influenced by the style of the source glyph and prone to artifacts. We propose IF-Font, a novel paradigm which incorporates Ideographic Description Sequence (IDS) instead of the source glyph to control the semantics of generated glyphs. To achieve this, we quantize the reference glyphs into tokens, and model the token distribution of target glyphs using corresponding IDS and reference tokens. The proposed method excels in synthesizing glyphs with neat and correct strokes, and enables the creation of new glyphs based on provided IDS. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method greatly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both one-shot and few-shot settings, particularly when the target styles differ significantly from the training font styles. With the rise in the aging population,an increase in the number of semidisabled elderly individuals has been noted,leading to notable challenges in medical and healthcare,exacerbated by a shortage of nursing *** study aims to enhance the human feature recognition capabilities of bath scrubbing robots operating in a water fog *** investigation focuses on semantic segmentation of human features using deep learning ***,3D point cloud data of human bodies with varying sizes are gathered through light detection and ranging to establish human ***,a hybrid filtering algorithm was employed to address the impact of the water fog environment on the modeling and extraction of human ***,the network is refined by integrating the spatial feature extraction module and the channel attention module based on *** results indicate that the algorithm adeptly identifies feature information for 3D human models of diverse body sizes,achieving an overall accuracy of 95.7%.This represents a 4.5%improvement compared with the PointNet network and a 2.5%enhancement over mean intersection over *** conclusion,this study substantially augments the human feature segmentation capabilities,facilitating effective collaboration with bath scrubbing robots for caregiving tasks,thereby possessing significant engineering application value.

Having been studied for more than a decade, Wi-Fi human sensing still faces a major challenge in the presence of multiple persons, simply because the limited bandwidth of Wi-Fi fails to provide a sufficient range resolution to physically separate multiple subjects. Existing solutions mostly avoid this challenge by switching to radars with GHz bandwidth, at the cost of cumbersome deployments. Therefore, could Wi-Fi human sensing handle multiple subjects remains an open question. This paper presents MUSE-Fi, the first Wi-Fi multi-person sensing system with physical separability. The principle behind MUSE-Fi is that, given a Wi-Fi device (e.g., smartphone) very close to a subject, the near-field channel variation caused by the subject significantly overwhelms variations caused by other distant subjects. Consequently, focusing on the channel state information (CSI) carried by the traffic in and out of this device naturally allows for physically separating multiple subjects. Based on this principle, we propose three sensing strategies for MUSE-Fi: i) uplink CSI, ii) downlink CSI, and iii) downlink beamforming feedback, where we specifically tackle signal recovery from sparse (per-user) traffic under realistic multi-user communication scenarios. Our extensive evaluations clearly demonstrate that MUSE-Fi is able to successfully handle multi-person sensing with respect to three typical applications: respiration monitoring, gesture detection, and activity recognition. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

As a branch of quantum image processing,quantum image scaling has been widely ***,most of the existing quantum image scaling algorithms are based on nearest-neighbor interpolation and bilinear interpolation,the quantum version of bicubic interpolation has not yet been *** this work,we present the first quantum image scaling scheme for bicubic interpolation based on the novel enhanced quantum representation(NEQR).Our scheme can realize synchronous enlargement and reduction of the image with the size of 2^(n)×2^(n) by integral ***,the image is represented by NEQR and the original image coordinates are obtained through multiple CNOT ***,16 neighborhood pixels are obtained by quantum operation circuits,and the corresponding weights of these pixels are calculated by quantum arithmetic ***,a quantum matrix operation,instead of a classical convolution operation,is used to realize the sum of convolution of these *** simulation experiments and complexity analysis,we demonstrate that our scheme achieves exponential speedup over the classical bicubic interpolation algorithm,and has better effect than the quantum version of bilinear interpolation.

The problem of low credibility of students in teaching evaluation is caused by ignoring non-teaching factors such as students' emotions, class culture, and course nature in the existing data of university students' teaching evaluation. A data processing model of students' teaching evaluation is constructed based on outlier detection. The outliers of the original data are screened and optimized based on students' emotional differences. Based on the analysis of non-teaching factors such as class culture and curriculum characteristics, the abnormal data of students' evaluation of teaching are processed. This improves the credibility of students' evaluation of teaching data to a certain extent. For the same sample data, the optimized data processing model of students' evaluation of teaching shows realistic evaluation results. The guidance of students' evaluation of teaching needs to be strengthened based on the original intention of teaching quality evaluation. It is suggested that evaluation models are scientifically selected, and the evaluation results are rationally used. © 2022 IEEE.

Modern microservice systems have become increasingly complicated due to the dynamic and complex interactions and runtime environment. It leads to the system vulnerable to performance issues caused by a variety of reasons, such as the runtime environments, communications, coordinations, or implementations of services. Traces record the detailed execution process of a request through the system and have been widely used in performance issues diagnosis in microservice systems. By identifying the execution processes and attribute value combinations that are common in anomalous traces but rare in normal traces, engineers may localize the root cause of a performance issue into a smaller scope. However, due to the complex structure of traces and the large number of attribute combinations, it is challenging to find the root cause from the huge search space. In this paper, we propose TraceContrast, a trace-based multidimensional root cause localization approach. TraceContrast uses a sequence representation to describe the complex structure of a trace with attributes of each span. Based on the representation, it combines contrast sequential pattern mining and spectrum analysis to localize multidimensional root causes efficiently. Experimental studies on a widely used microservice benchmark show that TraceContrast outperforms existing approaches in both multidimensional and instance-dimensional root cause localization with significant accuracy advantages. Moreover, Trace-Contrast is efficient and its efficiency can be further improved by parallel execution. © 2024 ACM.

Hyperparameter tuning plays a crucial role in optimizing the performance of machine learning algorithms. This study explores the effectiveness of Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) in fine-Tuning the hyperparameters of three popular machine learning algorithms, including Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Support Vector Machine. The studies use two publicly available datasets: The Heart Failure Clinical Records dataset and the Iris dataset. For additional comparative analysis, we also compare with the common optimization technique using Random Search. The result reveals that PSO and Random Search have varying impacts on the performance of different algorithms and datasets. The findings provide valuable insights into the behavior of different optimization techniques and their effect on model performance, paving the way for better and more reliable machine learning models in various domains. Through effective hyperparameter optimization, machine learning models can achieve enhanced accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.
