Hyperspectral image super resolution aims to improve the spatial resolution of given hyperspectral images, which has become a highly attractive topic in the field of image processing. Existing techniques typically focus on super resolution with sufficient training data. However, restricted by data acquisition conditions, certain hyperspectral images or band images are very different to obtain, resulted in insufficient training data. In order to solve this problem, a new hyperspectral image super resolution method is proposed in this paper in an effort to conduct the super resolution task over insufficient (sparse) training data, by applying the recently introduced ANFIS (Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System) interpolation method. Particularly, the training dataset is divided into several subsets. For the subsets with sufficient training data, the relevant ANFIS models are trained using standard ANFIS learning algorithm, while for the subsets with sparse training data, the corresponding ANFIS models are interpolated through the use of ANFIS interpolation. Experimental results indicate that compared with the methods using sufficient training data, the proposed method can achieve very similar result, showing its effectiveness for situations where only sparse training data is available.

Visual question answering requires a system to provide an accurate natural language answer given an image and a natural language question. However, it is widely recognized that previous generic VQA methods often tend to memorize biases present in the training data rather than learning proper behaviors, such as grounding images before predicting answers. Therefore, these methods usually achieve high in-distribution but poor out-of-distribution performance. In recent years, various datasets and debiasing methods have been proposed to evaluate and enhance the VQA robustness, respectively. This paper provides the first comprehensive survey focused on this emerging fashion. Specifically, we first provide an overview of the development process of datasets from in-distribution and out-of-distribution perspectives. Then, we examine the evaluation metrics employed by these datasets. Thirdly, we propose a typology that presents the development process, similarities and differences, robustness comparison, and technical features of existing debiasing methods. Furthermore, we analyze and discuss the robustness of representative vision-and-language pre-training models on VQA. Finally, through a thorough review of the available literature and experimental analysis, we discuss the key areas for future research from various viewpoints. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. As a form of artificial intelligence (AI) technology based on interactive learning, deep reinforcement learning (DRL) has been widely applied across various fields and has achieved remarkable accomplishments. However, DRL faces certain limitations, including low sample efficiency and poor generalization. Therefore, we present how to leverage generative AI (GAI) to address these issues above and enhance the performance of DRL algorithms in this paper. We first introduce several classic GAI and DRL algorithms and demonstrate the applications of GAI-enhanced DRL algorithms. Then, we discuss how to use GAI to improve DRL algorithms from the data and policy perspectives. Subsequently, we introduce a framework that demonstrates an actual and novel integration of GAI with DRL, i.e., GAI-enhanced DRL. Additionally, we provide a case study of the framework on UAV-assisted integrated near-field/far-field communication to validate the performance of the proposed framework. Author name disambiguation has long been viewed as a challenging problem in scientific literature management, and with the substantial growth of the scientific literature, the solution to this problem has become increasingly difficult and urgency. In this paper, we conduct research on the author name disambiguation problem in large-scale academic papers. In our method, we combine the paper feature information and the relation information between the papers for disambiguation. Based on the Aminers disambiguation framework, we present a novel method to constructing the paper relation graph based on atomic cluster and propose an efficient post processing algorithm, aiming to improve the disambiguation performance by rule-based clustering, this algorithm utilizes similarity features based on metadata information and implement two types of disambiguation rules. We carefully evaluate the proposed disambiguation method on real-world large data and experimental result shows that our method achieves clearly better performance than the state-of-the-art methods. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Grasping the intricacies of human motion, which involve perceiving spatio-temporal dependence and multi-scale effects, is essential for predicting human motion. While humans inherently possess the requisite skills to navigate this issue, it proves to be markedly more challenging for machines to emulate. To bridge the gap, we propose the Human-like Vision and Inference System (HVIS) for human motion prediction, which is designed to emulate human observation and forecast future movements. HVIS comprises two components: the human-like vision encode (HVE) module and the human-like motion inference (HMI) module. The HVE module mimics and refines the human visual process, incorporating a retina-analog component that captures spatiotemporal information separately to avoid unnecessary crosstalk. Additionally, a visual cortex-analogy component is designed to hierarchically extract and treat complex motion features, focusing on both global and local features of human poses. The HMI is employed to simulate the multi-stage learning model of the human brain. The spontaneous learning network simulates the neuronal fracture generation process for the adversarial generation of future motions. Subsequently, the deliberate learning network is optimized for hard-to-train joints to prevent misleading learning. Experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves new state-of-the-art performance, significantly outperforming existing methods by 19.8% on Human3.6M, 15.7% on CMU Mocap, and 11.1% on G3D. knowledge Graph (KG) is a directed heterogeneous information network that contains a large number of entities and relations, which is widely used as effective side information in rec-ommender systems. Moreover, in recommender systems, the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) model is introduced to mine the relatedness between entities in a KG because of its efficiency in extracting spatial features on topological graphs. The knowledge Graph Convolutional Network (KGCN) model up-dates the embedding of a currently positioned entity by aggregating the information of adjacent entities selected randomly. Never-theless, it has two limititations: 1) the information of neighbors se-lected randomly cannot accurately represent the current entity in the KG; 2) the model is hard to converge as graph features (i.e. The spatial relation features and semantic information features of en-tities in the KG) grow. To solve these limitations, in this paper, a meta-path (i.e., a sequence of artificially constructed relationships) is introduced into the selection of neighbors in the KGCN model to enhance the representation of each entity. Furthermore, two construction methods of the meta-path - constructing a meta-path based on the same relation (KGCN-SP) and the characteris-tics of KG (KGCN-MP) -are proposed. The experiments based on three real-world datasets demonstrate that the neighbor selection based on the meta-path is able to collect more accurate infor-mation from a KG and improve the recommendation performance effectively.

Studies have shown that learning personal stories could help provide individualized eldercare services. However, personal stories are often disordered because of the scattered collection, including informal interviews or daily interactions, which brings difficulties in acquiring valuable information quickly. One solution to this problem is to extract events from personal stories and automatically organize them in chronological order. Events extracted by current methods from social media or news corpus are mainly organized in a linear structure. These works usually focus on the event time and ignore the consistency of event contents when organizing events. This paper aims to organize events into a tree structure based on an event network, with stem nodes representing key event topics and branch nodes representing detailed events. Social workers or caregivers can clarify the life experience of the older adults quickly through the event tree and have a preliminary understanding of them. The experiments show that the event tree generated by our method has a better performance in consistency than current event organization methods. A survey study shows that our method achieves the highest logical coherence for the event tree branches compared with other algorithms. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Graph contrastive learning (GCL) is receiving growing attention due to its promising self-supervised learning capability on graph-structured data. While GCL approaches have demonstrated significant potential, their inherited stochastic perturbation-based augmentation causes the representation bias on representation hyperspace. Such a serious issue, unfortunately, causes the representation drift between the distributions of original and augmented embeddings, misleading the contrastive training for the graph neural network encoders. Moreover, the information loss caused by bias can further result in incomplete representation problem, hindering the self-supervised framework from capturing comprehensive structural and attributive patterns. To address these challenges, this paper introduces the CAlibratioN aNd FusiON model (CANNON for short). CANNON introduces a cross-view calibrating contrast mechanism to enhance the agreement between the original and augmented representations, which effectively alleviates the representation drift. Concurrently, CANNON overcomes the incomplete representation problem with a fused-view calibrating contrast mechanism for contrastive learning application on the fused embeddings, where a transformer-based cross-view fusion block is used to integrate two augmented views into a comprehensive one. The extensive experimental results, executed on 9 real-world datasets, demonstrate that CANNON significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods. Applying large language models (LLMs) to academic API usage shows promise in reducing researchers' efforts to seek academic information. However, current LLM methods for using APIs struggle with the complex API coupling commonly encountered in academic queries. To address this, we introduce SoAy, a solution-based LLM methodology for academic information seeking. SoAy enables LLMs to generate code for invoking APIs, guided by a pre-constructed API calling sequence referred to as a solution. This solution simplifies the model's understanding of complex API relationships, while the generated code enhances reasoning efficiency. LLMs are aligned with this solution-oriented, code-based reasoning method by automatically enumerating valid API coupling sequences and transforming them into queries and executable *** evaluate SoAy, we introduce SoAyBench, an evaluation benchmark accompanied by SoAyEval, built upon a cloned environment of APIs from AMiner. Experimental results demonstrate a 34.58-75.99% performance improvement compared to state-of-the-art LLM API-based baselines. Dual-view gaze target estimation in classroom environments has not been thoroughly explored. Existing methods lack consideration of depth information, primarily focusing on 2D image information and neglecting the latent 3D spatial context, which could lead to suboptimal transformation and cause the gaze cone to intersect with an incorrect object. This paper introduces a novel dual-view gaze target estimation method tailored for classroom settings, leveraging depth-enhanced spatial transformations. By formulating a depth-enhanced 2D space, our method uses depth-enhanced spatial transformation to accurately project students’ gaze cones to the teacher-oriented image. Additionally, we collected a dataset named DVSGE, specifically for student gaze target estimation in dual-view classroom images. Experimental results demonstrate significant performance improvements of 9.8% in AUC and 19.9% in L2-Distance for our method, surpassing existing methods.
