Welcome to the Eighth International Conference on Information Technology and Quantitative Management (ITQM 2020 & 2021), July 9-11, Chengdu, China. The theme of ITQM 2020 & 2021 is “Developing Global Digital Economy after COVID-19”. ITQM 2020 & 2021 is organized by International Academy of Information Technology and Quantitative Management (IAITQM), Southwest Minzu University, Chinese Academy of sciences and University of Nebraska at Omaha. IAITQM was formally inaugurated on June 3, 2012 with more than 50 founding members from China, United States, Australia, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Spain, Singapore, South Korea, The Netherlands, Turkey and other countries. The International Conference on Information Technology and Quantitative Management (ITQM), established by IAITQM, is a global forum for exchanging research findings and case studies that bridge the latest information technology and quantitative management techniques. It explores how the use of information technology techniques to improve quantitative management and how the development of management tools can reshape the development of information technology. The First International Conference on Information Technology and Quantitative Management (ITQM 2013) took place in Suzhou, China. The Second International Conference on Information Technology and Quantitative Management (ITQM 2014) was held in Moscow, Russia. The Third International Conference on Information Technology and Quantitative Management (ITQM 2015) was held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Road network restoration is an important issue in the post-disaster disposal and rescue,especially when extraordinarily serious natural disasters(e.g.,floods and earthquakes) *** to this endeavour is the problem of determining how to reasonably schedule and route the repair crew to quickly restore the damaged road network and establish reliable supply lines from supply nodes to demand ***,most existing work focuses on the activities of the single repair crew in the static road network,which is unable to adapt to the dynamic changes of the road network caused by secondary disasters,such as rock slides and debris ***,this work is concentrated on multicrew dynamic scheduling and routing in road network ***,a model of multicrew dynamic scheduling and routing is first ***,the Markov decision process is adopted to construct a decision model for repair crews,based on which a multiagent Q-learning algorithm is developed to find the best scheduling and routing ***,experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can make repair crews adjust their scheduling and routing strategies according to the dynamic changes of the damaged road network and provides a useful attempt to restore the damaged road network in complex,dynamic emergency scenarios of post-disaster.

Towards Target-dependent Sentiment Classification in News Articles

Extensive research on target-dependent sentiment classification (TSC) has led to strong classification performances in domains where authors tend to explicitly express sentiment about specific entities or topics, such as in reviews or on social media. We investigate TSC in news articles, a much less researched domain, despite the importance of news as an essential information source in individual and societal decision making. This article introduces NewsTSC, a manually annotated dataset to explore TSC on news articles. Investigating characteristics of sentiment in news and contrasting them to popular TSC domains, we find that sentiment in the news is expressed less explicitly, is more dependent on context and readership, and requires a greater degree of interpretation. In an extensive evaluation, we find that the current state-of-the-art in TSC performs worse on news articles than on other domains (average recall AvgRec = 69.8 on NewsTSC compared to AvgRev = [75.6, 82.2] on established TSC datasets). Reasons include incorrectly resolved relation of target and sentiment-bearing phrases and off-context dependence. As a major improvement over previous news TSC, we find that BERT’s natural language understanding capabilities capture the less explicit sentiment used in news articles. © 2021, CC BY-SA.

We present XHATE-999, a multi-domain and multilingual evaluation data set for abusive language detection. By aligning test instances across six typologically diverse languages, XHATE-999 for the first time allows for disentanglement of the domain transfer and language transfer effects in abusive language detection. We conduct a series of domain- and language-transfer experiments with state-of-the-art monolingual and multilingual transformer models, setting strong baseline results and profiling XHATE-999 as a comprehensive evaluation resource for abusive language detection. Finally, we show that domain- and language-adaptation, via intermediate masked language modeling on abusive corpora in the target language, can lead to substantially improved abusive language detection in the target language in the zero-shot transfer setups. © 2020 COLING 2020 - 28th International Conference on Computational Linguistics, Proceedings of the Conference. Multi-fuzzy-constrained graph pattern matching with big graph data

Graph pattern matching has been widespread used for protein structure analysis, expert finding and social group selection, ect. Recently, the study of graph pattern matching using the abundant attribute information of vertices and edges as constraint conditions has attracted the attention of scholars, and multi-constrained simulation has been proposed to address the problem in contextual social networks. Actually, multi-constrained graph pattern matching is an NP-complete problem and the fuzziness of constraint variables may exist in many applications. In this paper, we introduce a multi-fuzzy-constrained graph pattern matching problem in big graph data, and propose an efficient first-k algorithm Fuzzy-ETOF-K for solving it. Specifically, exploration-based method based on edge topology is adopted to improve the efficiency of edge connection, and breadth-first bounded search is used for edge matching instead of shortest path query between two nodes to improve the efficiency of edge matching. The results of our experiments conducted on three datasets of real social networks illustrate that our proposed algorithm Fuzzy-ETOF-K significantly outperforms existing approaches in efficiency and the introduction of fuzzy constraints makes our proposed algorithm more efficient and effective. © 2020 - IOS Press and the authors. Providing sufficient labeled training data in many application domains is a laborious and costly task. Designing models that can learn from partially labeled data, or leveraging labeled data in one domain and unlabeled data in a different but related domain is of great interest in many applications. In particular, in this context one can refer to semi-supervised modelling, transfer learning, domain adaptation and multi-view learning among oth- ers. There are several possibilities for designing such models ranging from shallow to deep models. These type of models have received increasing in- terest due to their successful applications in real-life problems. While a variety of ensemble methods for multilabel classification have been proposed in the literature, the question of how to aggregate the predictions of the individual members of the ensemble has received little attention so far. In this paper, we introduce a formal framework of ensemble multilabel classification, in which we distinguish two principal approaches: "predict then combine" (PTC), where the ensemble members first make loss minimizing predictions which are subsequently combined, and "combine then predict" (CTP), which first aggregates information such as marginal label probabilities from the individual ensemble members, and then derives a prediction from this aggregation. While both approaches generalize voting techniques commonly used for multilabel ensembles, they allow to explicitly take the target performance measure into account. Therefore, concrete instantiations of CTP and PTC can be tailored to concrete loss functions. Experimentally, we show that standard voting techniques are indeed outperformed by suitable instantiations of CTP and PTC, and provide some evidence that CTP performs well for decomposable loss functions, whereas PTC is the better choice for non-decomposable losses. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Dynamic variability of ventricular activation and recovery can be a physiological phenomenon, but is also known to increase susceptibility to arrhythmias. It has been extensively studied on the 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), but subtle (patho)physiological variations may be challenging to detect and localize due to the limited spatial resolution. Electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI) could be a useful noninvasive high-resolution mapping technique to investigate ventricular dynamics in more detail. Ventricular activation and recovery times (ATs and RTs) were examined using ECGI in 10 normal subjects. Zero-th order Tikhonov regularization was used in combination with a spatiotemporal estimation method to determine ATs and RTs. Dynamics were defined as standard deviations of ventricular ATs and RTs over three beats. Dynamics were higher for recovery than for activation during sinus rhythm, and significantly exaggerated after ventricular ectopy. Left ventricular areas were less dynamic than right ventricular areas. Since arrhythmias may arise due to an increase in ventricular dynamics in the diseased heart, these results provide an important basis for future research on ventricular dynamics and arrhythmias.

Exploring linguistic features and user engagement in Chinese online mental health counseling

With the popularity of online mental health platforms, more individuals are seeking help and receiving social support by openly discussing their problems. Therefore, it's crucial to gain a deeper understanding of which problem disclosures and social support on these platforms can attract more user attention and engagement. Previous research has primarily focused on social media forums. Our work concentrates on the professional mental health platform, intending to understand the linguistic features present in posts that promote user engagement and interaction. We employ text mining and deep learning techniques to analyze posts consisting of 22,250 questions from help-seekers and 78,328 answers providing social support extracted from the Chinese online mental health counseling platform. Initially, we analyze the high-frequency words and topics of the questions and answers to gain insights into the primary focal points and the range of topics covered in these posts. The results indicate that work-related issues are the most concerning and troublesome for help-seekers, and the topics that users follow are approximately 8 types, including growth, family, in-love, marriage, emotions, human-relations, behavioral-therapy and career. Subsequently, we analyze the language usage in question-and-answer posts with different engagement from three aspects: vocabulary categories, linguistic style matching, and language modeling, aiming to identify which linguistic features can attract more user attention and engagement. The results reveal that high-engagement answer posts exhibit a higher degree of linguistic style matching with the corresponding questions, and the use of vocabulary categories also influences the attention and engagement of the posts. By exploring the linguistic features and patterns displayed in posts with different levels of engagement on the professional online mental health platform, this study offers deep insights into user behavior and the factors that impact

Triplet learning, i.e. learning from triplet data, has attracted much attention in computer vision tasks with an extremely large number of categories, e.g., face recognition and person re-identification. Albeit with rapid progress in designing and applying triplet learning algorithms, there is a lacking study on the theoretical understanding of their generalization performance. To fill this gap, this paper investigates the generalization guarantees of triplet learning by leveraging the stability analysis. Specifically, we establish the first general high-probability generalization bound for the triplet learning algorithm satisfying the uniform stability, and then 1 obtain the excess risk bounds of the order (Equation presented). for both stochastic gradient descent (SGD) and regularized risk minimization (RRM), where 2n is approximately equal to the number of training samples. Moreover, an optimistic generalization bound in expectation as fast as O(n−1) is derived for RRM in a low noise case via the on-average stability analysis. Finally, our results are applied to triplet metric learning to characterize its theoretical underpinning. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
