The paper reports on an early iteration of a Design science effort for defining a business process analytics method. The method hybridizes explicitly engineered knowledge and implicit knowledge, as it streamlines the following ingredients: BPMN modeling, semantic linking and the transformation of models into RDF graphs, natural language processing and network analysis applied on the resulting graph repository. The engineered knowledge comes in the form of a BPMN implementation that can transform diagrams into RDF, whereas the implicit knowledge is derived from analytic measures (similarity metrics, network analysis) that further annotate the graphs obtained from models, enabling richer semantic queries and filtering possibilities for Business Process Management use cases. The originating problem context consists of contract management and project management scenarios from which use cases will be exemplified. The proposed method is deployable as an orchestration of tools: the BEE-UP modeling environment, GraphDB for storage and Python libraries (rdflib, nltk, networkx) for processing the graphs and running the annotating analytics. © 2023 CEUR-WS. Ensemble learning for artificial neural networks (ANNs) is an effective method to enhance predictive performance. However, ANNs are computationally and memory intensive, and naively training multiple networks can lead to excessive training times and costs. An effective tool for improving ensemble efficiency is introducing topological sparsity. Even though several implementations of efficient ensembles have been proposed, none of them can provide actual benefits in terms of computational overhead as the sparsity is simulated using binary masks. In this paper, we address this issue by introducing a Truly Sparse Ensemble without binary masks and directly incorporate native sparsity. We also propose two algorithms for initializing new subnetworks within the ensemble, leveraging this native topological sparsity to enhance subnetwork diversity. We demonstrate the performance of the resulting models at high levels of sparsity on several datasets in terms of classification accuracy, floating point operations (FLOPs), and actual running time. The proposed methods outperform all baseline dense and truly sparse models on tabular data, successfully diversify the training trajectory of the subnetworks, and increase the topological distance between subnetworks after re-initialization. © The Author(s) 2025.

Sentiment analysis, the task of understanding the underlying sentiment from a given data, is frequently used in various fields, from market research to recommender systems. To analyse different sentiments for different aspects present in a given sentence, aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) approaches have been proposed. The task of ABSA can be divided into two subtasks: aspect extraction (AE) and aspect-based polarity detection (ABPD). Most of the state-of-the-art approaches are based on some form of neural networks using convolutional layers. Recently, flavours of convolution, like extremely separated convolution layer (XSepConv) - which can reduce computational cost along with the parameter size of large kernels and depth-wise over-parameterised convolutional layer (DOConv) - which can improve the training efficiency, have been proposed. They have shown their superior capabilities when it comes to image-related tasks, but they have not been explored for textual tasks like ABSA. This paper performs unsupervised AE and weakly supervised ABSA using those specialised convolutional layers. It could be shown that using such layers instead of traditional convolutional layers can significantly improve the performance of the model. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Now a days in EFL procedure of education the ability of reading became as significant belief and personal-efficacy reading as a basic understanding for students. By monitoring the acknowledged participates under the ballpark figure of large studying and methods of understanding, the impact of their observation is premeditated on reading of each one’s personal-efficacy. On a daily routine all these things are comparatively considered which are put into effect by teachers of handful in number. Approach towards exhibiting Extensive reading (ER) is inspected to be "more expensive, difficult, and time-consuming". Method of recognition of elements in a various way for effective impact in putting its efforts to utilize for its empowerment. Paper has been segregated into two contexts: Association with attitude is considered as primary one and attitude is considered as secondary one. Whether knowledge work is understood by student or not is considered as the impact of ER by the first review. Procedure which are convenient is taken as the observations of student and is analysed as second one. The examinations are quantifiable to utilize the observations as information in terms of subjective way taken from students who belong to first academic year of reading course in a systematic way and 603 details of undergraduate students from KLEF of Guntur were chosen as participants for extant examination. In ER programme of includes and excludes "comprehension reading work" is treated as fundamental in the proposal of disclosures. In case of any, "the programme appeared to positively affect contributing students". Techniques of classification like "decision tree and Mixed Model database Miner (MMDBM)" are employed in this paper which leads to improvements of post-test to pre-test in ER group. The development of electrostatically doped graphene PN-junctions shows promise for creating efficient low-power, high-speed circuits. In recent years, there has been a considerable interest in the synthesis of graphene PN junction logic circuits. However, existing synthesis methods lack assessment based on technology-specific cost metrics (e.g., the number of graphene PN junction gates, constant inputs), leading to insufficiently addressed design objectives. In this paper, we introduce synthesis approaches for graphene PN-junction circuits based on Sum-of-Products (SoP) and Exclusive Sum-of-Products (ESoP) function representations. Experimental results indicate that ESoP-based synthesis significantly reduces the number of graphene PN junction gates, constant inputs, and switching activity compared to SoP-based approaches. Overall, ESoP-based synthesis is deemed more suitable than SoP-based methods for designing graphene PN-junction logic circuits.

Recently, digital economy in social science has become increasingly significant. A well-constructed evaluation structure could generally and promptly describe and reveal its overall social digitalization development. Building on existent researches, this paper improves the evaluation system, which comprises four first-level indicators and thirty-one second-level indicators. Notably, this paper innovatively incorporates higher education into digital innovation of the evaluation. The Entropy method is utilized to assign weights to various indicators in an objective way, with employing the TOPSIS approach to prioritize the development of digital economy in places based on the closeness to the ideal solution. By analysing related data related from 31 provinces in China between 2017 to 2021, this paper greatly finds: Firstly, the development of digital economy vary significantly across provinces, with most provinces at a relatively poor level, indicating considerable potential for overall growth;Secondly, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shandong consistently ranked in the top four from 2017 to 2021, reflecting their specific development attributes and their emphasis on digital economy;Thirdly, significant disparities exist both between regions and among provinces. Consequently, this paper suggests establishing a comprehensive national digital economy development plan, formulating region-specific digital economy policies tailored to local conditions, and encouraging leading provinces to actively share experiences with other provinces. © 2024 The Authors.

In the era of pervasive internet use and the dominance of social networks, researchers face significant challenges in Persian text mining including the scarcity of adequate datasets in Persian and the inefficiency of existing language models. This paper specifically tackles these challenges, aiming to amplify the efficiency of language models tailored to the Persian language. Focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of sentiment analysis, our approach employs an aspect-based methodology utilizing the ParsBERT model, augmented with a relevant lexicon. The study centers on sentiment analysis of user opinions extracted from the Persian website 'Digikala.' The experimental results not only highlight the proposed method's superior semantic capabilities but also showcase its efficiency gains with an accuracy of 88.2% and an F1 score of 61.7. The importance of enhancing language models in this context lies in their pivotal role in extracting nuanced sentiments from user-generated content, ultimately advancing the field of sentiment analysis in Persian text mining by increasing efficiency and accuracy. © 2025, CC BY.

Dual skip connections minimize the false positive rate of lung nodule detection in CT images

Pulmonary cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed and fatal cancers and is often diagnosed by incidental findings on computed tomography. Automated pulmonary nodule detection is an essential part of computer-aided diagnosis, which is still facing great challenges and difficulties to quickly and accurately locate the exact nodules’ positions. This paper proposes a dual skip connection upsampling strategy based on Dual Path network in a U-Net structure generating multiscale feature maps, which aims to minimize the ratio of false positives and maximize the sensitivity for lesion detection of nodules. The results show that our new upsampling strategy improves the performance by having 85.3% sensitivity at 4 FROC per image compared to 84.2% for the regular upsampling strategy or 81.2% for VGG16-based Faster-R-CNN. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.
