Graph models and graph-based signals are becoming increasingly important in machine learning, natural sciences, and modern signal processing. In this paper, we address the problem of quantizing bandlimited graph signals. We introduce two classes of noise-shaping algorithms for graph signals that differ in their sampling methodologies. We demonstrate that these algorithms can be efficiently used to construct quantized representatives of bandlimited graph-based signals with bounded amplitude. Moreover, for one of the algorithms, we provide theoretical guarantees on the relative error between the quantized representative and the true signal.

Score-based methods have demonstrated their effectiveness in discovering causal relationships by scoring different causal structures based on their goodness of fit to the data. Recently, Huang et al. (2018) proposed a generalized score function that can handle general data distributions and causal relationships by modeling the relations in reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS). The selection of an appropriate kernel within this score function is crucial for accurately characterizing causal relationships and ensuring precise causal discovery. However, the current method involves manual heuristic selection of kernel parameters, making the process tedious and less likely to ensure optimality. In this paper, we propose a kernel selection method within the generalized score function that automatically selects the optimal kernel that best fits the data. Specifically, we model the generative process of the variables involved in each step of the causal graph search procedure as a mixture of independent noise variables. Based on this model, we derive an automatic kernel selection method by maximizing the marginal likelihood of the variables involved in each search step. We conduct experiments on both synthetic data and real-world benchmarks, and the results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms heuristic kernel selection methods.

Gaussian process state-space models (GPSSMs) have emerged as a powerful framework for modeling dynamical systems, offering interpretable uncertainty quantification and inherent regularization. However, existing GPSSMs face significant challenges in handling high-dimensional, non-stationary systems due to computational inefficiencies, limited scalability, and restrictive stationarity assumptions. In this paper, we propose an efficient transformed Gaussian process state-space model (ETGPSSM) to address these limitations. Our approach leverages a single shared Gaussian process (GP) combined with normalizing flows and Bayesian neural networks, enabling efficient modeling of complex, high-dimensional state transitions while preserving scalability. To address the lack of closed-form expressions for the implicit process in the transformed GP, we follow its generative process and introduce an efficient variational inference algorithm, aided by the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF), to enable computationally tractable learning and inference. Extensive empirical evaluations on synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the superior performance of our ETGPSSM in system dynamics learning, high-dimensional state estimation, and time-series forecasting, outperforming existing GPSSMs and neural network-based methods in both accuracy and computational efficiency. Noise has been used as a way of protecting privacy of users in public datasets for many decades now. Differential privacy is a new standard to add noise, so that user privacy is protected. When this technique is applied for a single end user data, it's called local differential privacy. In this study, we evaluate the effects of adding noise to generate randomized responses on machine learning models. We generate randomized responses using Gaussian, Laplacian noise on singular end user data as well as correlated end user data. Finally, we provide results that we have observed on a few data sets for various machine learning use cases.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a well-established method in neuroscience and bioengineering that offers valuable information about brain function. Recent technological advancements have led to more complex EEG recordings, which necessitate more advanced analysis techniques. machine learning has emerged as an asset in EEG signal processing, enabling novel approaches to comprehension and utilization of brain activity. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the intersection of machine learning and EEG signal processing in bioengineering applications. This text presents a comprehensive overview of EEG data analysis techniques, focusing on the key steps of acquisition, preprocessing, and feature extraction. It highlights the challenges and strategies used to extract valuable information from raw EEG recordings. Additionally, it surveys various machine learning algorithms, including classic and modern deep learning methods, demonstrating their effectiveness in analyzing EEG signals and opening new frontiers in the field of bioengineering. This paper explores the growing connection between machine learning and EEG signal processing, examining how they work together to enhance healthcare, neurotechnology, and our knowledge of the brain. By studying existing research and cutting-edge developments, this study intends to focus on this synergistic relationship and its importance in these fields.

The integration of autonomous vehicles (AVs) into modern transportation systems presents both unprecedented opportunities and challenges, particularly in ensuring road safety and reducing accidents. This paper explores the application of Deep Reinforcement learning (DRL) techniques to enhance decision-making processes in AVs, aiming to proactively prevent road accidents. By simulating complex driving environments, DRL algorithms enable AVs to learn optimal driving strategies through continuous interaction and feedback. We introduce a DRL-based framework that incorporates sensor data fusion, real-time environment analysis, and adaptive control mechanisms. Experimental results from simulated urban and highway scenarios demonstrate a significant reduction in collision rates and improved response to unforeseen obstacles compared to traditional rule-based systems. The findings underscore the potential of DRL in fortifying the reliability and safety of autonomous driving technologies.

While big data enhances the capacity of organizations to make choices, the traditional data governance approaches are not productive enough to manage the explosion of volume, variety, and velocity of data. This inadequateness leads to loss of data integrity, inabilities to adhere to legal frameworks and poor use of available data. This study provides a solution by providing an easier way to apply data governance concepts using a framework that is elastic and scalable enough for today's data environment. In addition to this, study helps a firm maintain quality of data, compliance, and interactivity through the use of metadata strategies. This relatively new tool helps to manage data governance more effective and innovatively so that the organization can harness the business aspects within big data through the proper deployment of the data governance structure.

Sentiment analysis is still in its developing era, and sometimes, struggles are faced in evaluating user sentiment due to the use of traditional models to analyze the relationship structures in social media interactions. To tackle the issue, we proposed an innovative approach Hybrid LSTM neural network and a fully connected neural network (FCNN) integrated with the Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm. The objective of this proposed method is to improve sentiment analysis by employing the LSTM to capture the sequence of data and improve the ability of FCNNs to improve feature extraction and the analysis process. The proposed system process initiated with the data preprocessing of input Twitter sentiment dataset transformed into a suitable input to the Hybrid LSTM-FCNN neural network. Then, temporal dependency of the data captured by LSTM and FCNN is used to extract the features. The GWO method mimics the grey wolf hunting behaviour, for optimizing the proposed Hybrid LSTM-FCNN model’s parameters to enhance the classification accuracy. The system models start with the initialization of the model, parameters, and training the models using the dataset to reduce the cross-entropy loss, estimating the testing dataset from unseen data and fine-tuning using GWO as necessary. Results demonstrate significant improvements in sentiment categorization compared to traditional methods. The Hybrid LSTM-FCNN model, enhanced with GWO, effectively captures nuanced sentiment patterns, leading to more accurate classification. Additionally, GWO’s computational efficiency contributes to scalability. In conclusion, our proposed approach offers a promising solution for enhancing product quality evaluation through advanced neural network architectures and optimization algorithms applied to social media sentiment analysis.

Breast cancer is still a global health concern, chiefly affecting women, as it is one of the major causes of cancer mortality. For the therapy to be effective, early diagnosis of cancer is critical to raising the survival level and increasing the effectiveness of the procedure. The advancement in the applied technique of machine learning (ML) has brought further opportunities for early and effective diagnosis of breast cancer. This review paper provides insights into how different ML algorithms including the Support Vector machine (SVM), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Random Forests, and many more have contributed to the detection of breast cancer. These algorithms have proved effective in providing solutions to various medical data and imaging including early diagnosis and treatment. The paper also looks at the use of ML with precision medicine to show that these technologies will help minimize false diagnoses and offer better treatment options. This review consolidates recent works and advancements to emphasize the prospect of ML in breast cancer management and calls for more studies to enhance its implementation in practice

This paper presents an iterative difference scheme for solving nonlinear fractional integro-differential equations of Volterra type, which are widely used in modeling memory-dependent phenomena in various scientific and engineering applications. The scheme employs Caputo's fractional derivative to handle the non-local nature of the fractional derivative and introduces an iterative approach to enhance accuracy and stability. By discretizing the domain of interest on a uniform mesh and the present non-local differential operator using a well-established L1 technique, we derive a nonlinear difference equation that captures the essential dynamics of the underlying continuous problem. The corresponding nonlinear equation is solved by employing the Daftardar-Gejji and Jafari (DGJ) method. The convergence and stability of the proposed scheme are rigorously analyzed under sufficiently smooth initial data, and the method produces reliable numerical solutions. Numerical experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the scheme, demonstrating its efficiency. © 2025 The Authors
