The exchanged hypercube, denoted by EH(s, t), is a graph obtained by systematically removing edges from the corresponding hypercube, while preserving many of the hypercube’s attractive properties. Moreover, ring-connected topology is one of the most promising topologies in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) optical networks. Let Rn denote a ring-connected topology. In this paper, we address the routing and wavelength assignment problem for implementing the EH(s, t) communication pattern on Rn, where n = s + t + 1. We design an embedding scheme. Based on the embedding scheme, a near-optimal wavelength assignment algorithm using 2s+t−2 + 2t/3 wavelengths is proposed. We also show that the wavelength assignment algorithm uses no more than an additional 25 percent of (or 2t−1/3) wavelengths, compared to the optimal wavelength assignment algorithm. The increasing prevalence of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii as an opportunistic pathogen in wound infections raises significant concerns due to its antibiotic resistance and biofilm-mediated antibiotic tolerance. This underscores the urgent need to explore an alternative approach to effectively managing wound infections caused by MDR A. baumannii . In this study, combining subinhibitory concentrations of curcumin (25 µg/ml) or chitosan (156 µg/ml) with photodynamic therapy-PDT (10 J/cm 2 ) resulted in a significant reduction of planktonic viabilities and biofilm biovolume of MDR A. baumannii clinical isolates in vitro . In murine A. baumannii- associated wound infection, a combination of curcumin (25 µg/ml) or chitosan (156 µg/ml) with PDT (10 J/cm 2 ) resulted in complete bacterial eradication with wound healing at Day 15 of post-treatments with these combination therapies. Our study demonstrated that combining curcumin or chitosan with PDT at their subinhibitory concentrations represents a promising alternative strategy as localized therapy for effectively managing A. baumannii -associated wound infection.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticulate films was successfully annealed on a glass substrate via alternative hot air treatment (HAT). Interestingly, HAT not only protects the glass substrate deformation but can also reduce cost and time in the annealing process. The annealed films using HAT at 500 °C for 10 min can be compared with the annealed films in conventional furnace heat treatment (FHT) at 500 °C for 60 min. The results showed the sizes of ∼7.9 nm are obtained after the films annealed with both annealing techniques. The surface roughness of the as-deposited, the annealed films using FHT and HAT were 17.37, 23.74 and 23.26 nm, respectively. The energy band gap of the as- deposited films, the annealed films using FHT and HAT were 3.24 eV, 3.1 and 3.19 eV, respectively. Moreover, the annealed films using FHT and HAT techniques show superhydrophilic with a water contact angle of 3.42° and 2.81°, while the as-deposited films was 8.93°. After aging time testing, superhydrophilicity of the annealed films using HAT is greater than FHT. The result is in good agreement with Ti wt% of the as-deposited, the annealed films using FHT and HAT left on the substrate to 0.15, 0.73 and 0.65 nm after testing simulation for 20 years.

Currently, people obtained housing information from relatives, friends, sale representatives from model home, Realty networks, or government. It is difficult to get the housing-related information from these resources and hard to compare. Therefore, we proposed a public inquiry website called Housing Price Analysis using information from public websites to do statistical analyses based on the total ratio of "average value" and "standard deviation". People can use this website to get better understanding of price trend in certain area. This website will compare all records on public realty websites and government system based on same area with similar size of houses, number of rooms, age of house, etc. By using this system, users can get better understanding the trend of housing prices.

Digital games have become a popular source of entertainment. The main reason that players continue to play video games is that the game designers use scaffolding to bridge the gap between a player's current skills and those needed to be successful at the next level. Several mainstream digital games have the flexibility to become promising game-based learning environments, in which scaffolding could play a crucial role to improve the learning experience. This study examines the effectiveness of providing instructors with the opportunity to tailor a digital game in order to meet their personal teaching goals. The built-in game features in Crayon Physics Deluxe are blended with instructor-designed scaffolding to see whether such features can assist learning without impeding creativity. A total of 126 participants were divided into four groups. In three of the groups, Crayon Physics Deluxe was used with varied scaffolding conditions: demonstration scaffolding, non-scaffolding, and marking critical features scaffolding. The fourth group did not play the game. Learning outcomes were examined in terms of physics knowledge acquisition (in the form of concept maps) and creativity performance (in the form of game episode designs). The results show that the marking critical features scaffolding group performed significantly better than the demonstration scaffolding group in both conceptual knowledge acquisition and in the sensitivity dimension of design creativity. The group with demonstration scaffolding scored higher in the flexibility dimension of creativity when designing their own game episodes. These findings suggest that proper scaffolding does facilitate learning, and different learning purposes require various designs of scaffoldings.

The Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is used to solve the storage problem of huge data, but does not provide a handling mechanism of duplicate files. In this study, the middle layer file system in the HBASE virtual architecture is used to do File Deduplicate in HDFS, with two architectures proposed according to different requires of the applied requirement reliability, therein one is RFD-HDFS (Reliable File Deduplicated HDFS) which is not permitted to have any errors and the other is FD-HDFS (File Deduplicated HDFS) which can tolerate very few errors. In addition to the advantage of the space complexity, the marginal benefits from it are explored. Assuming a popular video is uploaded to HDFS by one million users, through the Hadoop replication, they are divided into three million files to store, that is a practice wasting disk space very much and only by the cloud to remove repeats for effectively loading. By that, only three file spaces are taken up, namely the 100% utility of removing duplicate files reaches. The experimental architecture is a cloud based documentation system, like the version of EndNote Cloud, to simulate the cluster effect of massive database when the researcher synchronized the data with cloud storage.

Delicacy recommendation services are the trend of the future. In this paper, we propose an effective decision support systems (DSS), the Cloud-Based Recommender System (CBRS), which provides the introduction and commentaries of delicacies and restaurants with relevant recommendation. CBRS provides the web content retrieval agent (WCRA) and multiple document summarization (MDS) technology to generate summary of commentaries. Finally, CBRS combines with the cloud computing for MDS to provide delicacy recommendation services.

Honeynet includes various Honeypot, thus it has managerial limitations in the flexibility, time limits, technological integrations and dynamic deployment. In addition, the S/W and H/W resource utilization is comparatively low, and meanwhile it also lacks for the effective application of strategic integration;therefore, there are still a lot of space should be improved. In this work, we proposed a Virtual Honeynet Security Platform (VHSP), we utilize the integration of the Xen paravirtualization and Honeynet technologies to design a virtual research platform and implement such platform to verify the effectiveness of the virtual architecture and method that designed in this paper. The main contribution of this work is not only reduces the complexity for the great deployment in traditional Honeynet system, but also decrease the limitation in spatial region for the physical Honeynet environment, and this conform to the concept of Green IT. © 2009 IEEE.

In this paper, we proposed a low-cost and flexible Virtual Honeynet Security Platform (VHSP) and a design methodology of the Virtual Honeypot Redirect Mechanism (VHRM), which is All-in-One virtual system architecture, design and implement such platform to verify the effectiveness of the architecture and method that designed in this paper. Moreover, the main contribution of this work is not only to propose a more optimum utilization strategies for S/W and H/W resources, but also a research platform of network security with higher flexibility, usability and this conforms to the latest concept of Green IT design as well. ©2009 IEEE.

Statechart has been utilized as a visual formalism for the modeling of complex and interactive systems for its illuminating features on describing properties of causality, concurrency, and synchronization. This paper presents the application of satechart to the modeling, design and implementation of an elevator system, whose system behavior involves aggregating complexity of state descriptions, and imposition of underlying control policy. Based on the operational flow of an elevator, we derive the associated statechart model by looking into the inherent hierarchical structure of the elevator. The advantage of the proposed approach is the clear presentation of system behavior in terms of conditions and events that cause the transitions in system dynamics. Implementation of the controlled elevator based on the modeled statechart is also presented.
