With the growth of the World Wide Web (WWW), many people nowadays spend a lot of time performing various tasks with browsers, most of these tasks repetitive and tedious. Many applications are created to reorganize and simplify the usage of Web resources, which are called Web automation applications. This paper proposes an infrastructure to create Web automation applications, the WIS (Web Integration Solution) system. WIS integrates a diversity of tools and technologies to provide a software environment for developing Web automation services. Developers can use this tool to create various Web automation applications. We show the versatility of WIS by implementing three exemplary services. The first is a metasearcher system that provides a single search interface for several indexing and abstract databases. The second is a cataloguing tool to simplify the task of retrieving bibliographic data from the Web;this tool is also integrated with a book-recommendation system for libraries. Device degradation due to hot carrier injection (HCI) in multi-fin 20 nm and 10 nm N- and P-type FinFET devices are thoroughly analyzed. To further understand the HCI reliability of the four FinFET devices, the device is fabricated with a standard Vt base and low Vt base gate stacks with different work functions. It is evident that: (i) The standard Vt device sustains lower effective stress bias due to the difference in threshold voltage, resulting in a more stable threshold voltage than the low Vt base device, and (ii) the transconductance of the single N- and P-type FinFET is more severely degraded than the multi-fin N- and P-type FinFET, mainly because multi N- and P-type Finfet has coupe effect, which effectively reduces the impact of HCI. © 2023 The Electrochemical Society ("ECS"). The fabrication of InGaN-based blue 4✕4 array micro-LEDs (μLEDs) with 40 μm ✕40 μm chip size and 2✕2 array μLEDs with 80 μm ✕80 μm chip size etching by the inductive coupled plasma reactive ion etching (ICPRIE) and defect-free neutral beam etching (NBE) processes was studied in this work. In μLEDs of this size, the influence of defects formation in the sidewalls on EQE was evaluated. There was almost no difference in EQE between μLEDs array etched by the NBE process no matter 40 μm ✕40 μm and 80 μm ✕80 μm, but the dependence was observed in the ICPRIE. Even with this size, it was found that the size effect of EQE is smaller than that in case of using ICPRIE for defect-free neutral beam etching. This impact is substantial since μLED predominantly operated at low current density, around 1–5 A/cm2. Consequently, the reduction of defect density, encompassing both internal and sidewall defects, becomes imperative even in 40–80 μm InGaN-based μLEDs. This not only improves the overall efficiency of μLEDs but also fortifies the brightness stability of μLED displays if process etching by NBE. It was also found that the etching shape had an influence on EQE. It could be attributed to fact that the etching profile angle of NBE was more vertical than that of ICPRIE. Because the different angles of the mesa resulted in different light intensity. The μLEDs emitting with a wavelength of 450 nm, the light extraction efficiency and intensity at a mesa angle 58° of NBE etching μLEDs was about 8% lower than those of an angle (38°) of ICPRIE etching μLEDs by simulation. © The Authors

Attendance monitoring system is an essential element in all organizations and is considered as an integral part of efficient organizational information systems. Most of the time it so happens that if any stakeholder wants to meet concerned in charge employees they need to take an appointment and then consult them. In situations where meeting becomes inevitable there is no system available to trace them with in the vicinity of the organization. The current research has been undertaken to address this issue, which is to know whereabouts of in charge employees during organizational timings. The proposed system works on RFID technology where in, as the concerned employees enters in the organization vicinity, his RFID will be validated with a check from the organizational database, if he/she is indeed an employee of the respective organization he/she will be allowed to enter into workspace and his attendance will be updated in the respective organizational database. Their status will be displayed on the screens available outside the workspace;apart from it the details will also be updated on cloud and the stakeholders willing to meet their respective personnel can easily see from the respective web-portal and can make an appointment based on their availability ©2020 Azeem Khan et al., licensed to EAI. A Normal Distribution Transform-Based Radar Odometry Designed For Scanning and Automotive Radars

Existing radar sensors can be classified into automotive and scanning radars. While most radar odometry (RO) methods are only designed for a specific type of radar, our RO method adapts to both scanning and automotive radars. Our RO is simple yet effective, where the pipeline consists of thresholding, probabilistic submap building, and an NDT-based radar scan matching. The proposed RO has been tested on two public radar datasets: the Oxford Radar RobotCar dataset and the nuScenes dataset, which provide scanning and automotive radar data respectively. The results show that our approach surpasses state-of-the-art RO using either automotive or scanning radar by reducing translational error by 51% and 30%, respectively, and rotational error by 17% and 29%, respectively. Besides, we show that our RO achieves centimeter-level accuracy as lidar odometry, and automotive and scanning RO have similar accuracy. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Deep convolutional neural network model for short-term electricity price forecasting

In the modern power market, electricity trading is an extremely competitive industry. More accurate price forecast is crucial to help electricity producers and traders make better decisions. In this paper, a novel method of convolutional neural network (CNN) is proposed to rapidly provide hourly forecasting in the energy market. To improve prediction accuracy, we divide the annual electricity price data into four categories by seasons and conduct training and forecasting for each category respectively. By comparing the proposed method with other existing methods, we find that the proposed model has achieved outstanding results, the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and root mean square error (RMSE) for each category are about 5.5% and 3, respectively. The Brimob Corps is a special police force, just like the special military detachments held by the TNI such as Paskhas and so on. At present brigade corps police national is busy being discussed in the real world and cyberspace, especially on social media twitter. Many opinions about the brigade corps police national so there are positive and negative opinions. Social media twitter is now one places to spread information about brigade corps police national. This study cases uses text mining techniques with support vector machine (SVM) method which aims to classify public sentiments towards brigade corps police national on twitter. The dataset used is tweet in Indonesian with keyword "Brimob" with a total dataset of 1000 tweets. Text mining, transform, tokenize, stemming, and classification, etc. techniques are useful for building classification and analysis of sentiment. RapidMiner and Gataframework are also used to help create sentiment analysis to measure classification values. Accuracy values obtained with support vector machine (SVM) approach 86,96%, with precision values of 86,96%, and recall values of 86,96%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 3 (NTRK3) has pleiotropic functions: it acts not only as an oncogene in breast and gastric cancers but also as a dependence receptor in tumor suppressor genes in colon cancer and neuroblastomas. However, the role of NTRK3 in upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) is not well documented. This study investigated the association between NTRK3 expression and outcomes in UTUC patients and validated the results in tests on UTUC cell lines. A total of 118 UTUC cancer tissue samples were examined to evaluate the expression of NTRK3. Survival curves were generated using Kaplan–Meier estimates, and Cox regression models were used for investigating survival outcomes. Higher NTRK3 expression was correlated with worse progression-free survival, cancer-specific survival, and overall survival. Moreover, the results of an Ingenuity Pathway Analysis suggested that NTRK3 may interact with the PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway to promote cancer. NTRK3 downregulation in BFTC909 cells through shRNA reduced cellular migration, invasion, and activity in the AKT-mTOR pathway. Furthermore, the overexpression of NTRK3 in UM-UC-14 cells promoted AKT-mTOR pathway activity, cellular migration, and cell invasion. From these observations, we concluded that NTRK3 may contribute to aggressive behaviors in UTUC by facilitating cell migration and invasion through its interaction with the AKT-mTOR pathway and the expression of NTRK3 is a potential predictor of clinical outcomes in cases of UTUC. © 2024 The Authors. Physiological Biomarkers for Assessment of Pain during Routine Blood Tests for Older Adults with Dementia in Long-Term Residential Care

Objective: Evaluating pain in individuals with dementia can be difficult when verbal communication is limited. Vocalization has emerged as a potential avenue for assessments of pain in nonverbal populations. This study aimed to evaluate if physiological assessments of vocalization were correlated with observational assessments of pain during routine blood tests for persons with dementia. Design: A cross-sectional descriptive study. Setting and Participants: Sixty older adults (aged ≥65 years old) with dementia requiring routine finger puncture and peripheral venipuncture for routine blood tests were recruited by purposive sampling from 3 long-term care facilities in Taiwan. Methods: Observational assessments were conducted with the Pain Assessment in Advanced Dementia (PAINAD) instrument;physiological biomarkers of vocalization were assessed with a noninvasive sensing device and microphone (NISDM). Assessments were conducted simultaneously in one session during situations of increasing pain levels: at rest, making a sound, finger puncture, and peripheral venipuncture. PAINAD scores were compared with signal recording measures from the NISDM. Analysis of variance and Pearson correlation coefficient assessed correlations between observational and physiological measures. Results: Most participants were female (63.3%);mean age was 81.27 years (SD = 9.69);Clinical Dementia Rating was 2.23 ± 0.70;and Mini-Mental State Examination was 7.07 ± 6.95. Signal recording measures using the NISDM during finger puncture and venipuncture were significantly greater compared with measures at rest and making sound, indicating higher signal levels were associated with pain. PAINAD scores were significantly correlated with physiological measures for vocalization variables of sound amplitude (r = 0.49, P <.001), shimmer (r = 0.63, P <.001), and inhalation-to-exhalation amplitude ratio (r = 0.48, P <.001). This study investigates and compares the impact of different etching techniques on the fabrication of GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) between the inductively coupled plasma reactive ion etching (ICP-RIE) and the neutral beam etching (NBE) for the gate recess. By conducting direct current analysis, it was found that devices manufactured using the NBE exhibited superior electrical performance as compared with those produced using the ICP-RIE. These enhanced electrical characteristics include a transconductance of up to 100.4 mS/mm, a threshold voltage (V_th) of −2.3 V, an on/off current ratio of 1.1 × 10⁹, a subthreshold swing (S.S.) of 99.63 mV/dec, and a remarkably low gate leakage current. Additionally, we noted varying degrees of hysteresis in the I–V characteristics were related to process disparities possibly leading to interface defects. Multi-frequency capacitance-voltage (C–V) measurements were used to identify the interface defects at the oxide/AlGaN interface of the gate. The results revealed that devices fabricated using the NBE exhibited a lower interface defect density as compared with those fabricated using the ICP-RIE, thereby elucidating the reduced hysteresis observed in the I–V characteristics. These findings indicated the significant advantages of the NBE process in the fabrication of GaN HEMTs. © 2024 The Authors
