The non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)method is a novel multiple access technique that aims to increase spectral efficiency(SE)and accommodate enormous user ***-user signals are superimposed and transmitted in the power domain at the transmitting end by actively implementing controllable interference information,and multi-user detection algorithms,such as successive interference cancellation(SIC),are performed at the receiving end to demodulate the necessary user *** its basic signal waveform,like LTE baseline,could be based on orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA)or discrete Fourier transform(DFT)-spread OFDM,NOMA superimposes numerous users in the power *** contrast to the orthogonal transmission method,the nonorthogonal method can achieve higher spectrum ***,it will increase the complexity of its *** power allocation techniques will have a direct impact on the system’s *** a result,in order to boost the system capacity,an efficient power allocation mechanism must be *** research developed an efficient technique based on conjugate gradient to solve the problem of downlink power *** major goal is to maximize the users’maximum weighted sum *** suggested algorithm’s most notable feature is that it converges to the global optimal *** compared to existing methods,simulation results reveal that the suggested technique has a better power allocation capability.

Navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape requires a sophisticated platform that is not only comprehensive but also user-friendly and enables seamless analysis and document comparison in the legal realm. To address this challenging requirement, this research is dedicated to the user experience (UX) design of state-of the-art cloud-native mobile applications specifically designed for legal and regulatory harmonization. The methodology used is based on design thinking principles and takes advantage of the benefits of cloud computing. These include, but are not limited to, scalability, reliability, and security. The result is a solution that is not only powerful but also cost-effective. The core of this application follows a user-centered design philosophy and involves potential users closely in the design process. A comprehensive evaluation is performed using the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology to measure the effectiveness and usability of the application. The results of this comprehensive approach are convincing. The application has an impressive 95.5% usage rate, indicating strong user engagement. Furthermore, user satisfaction ratings are particularly high and transformative impact of this application in a complex environment of legal harmonization. Through its innovative design, seamless functionality, and user-centric approach, this application has proven to be not only a technical solution, but also a catalyst for positive change in the legal and regulatory harmonization process. © 2023 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) technology has widely used in industrial production. Most cases focused on designing new equipment or processes. However, small and medium enterprises especially the powder metallurgy manufacturers in Taiwan would not replace existing production equipment due to the finical problems. In this study, an IoT-based platform is conducted to extract the sintering parameters for technology to augment sintering furnaces by installing sensors and data transmission modules, setting a sintering parameter extraction platform for powder metallurgy sintering furnace. Long-term monitoring and remote control are the main technologies for solving three problems during the sintering process, i.e., temperature, atmosphere, and time. Monitoring targets include checking whether the heaters are damaged, ensuring stable air flow meter readings, and verifying the normal speed of the conveyor belt. Additionally, remote control technology has been developed to execute cooling and reheating processes on the sintering furnace. The staying time on-site for personnel is reduced and the sintering time is increased for production increase during working hours. © 2024 IEEE.

The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products. © 2023 IEEE.

Domain data can be shifted in any direction so it will be shared in different distributions to its original domain. This could be a problem since the model was trained with different distributions. It is found that adversarial domain adaptation using domain adversarial neural networks (DANN) can help to solve this problem on some scale. DANN can minimize the discrepancy between source and target data so the model can work well in both domains. The experiment is done by utilizing MNIST dataset that shifted into some conditions. In a condition when the shifting of distribution is too far, DANN is struggling to maintain the knowledge extracted from source data which leads to underperformance in the source and target domain. In contrast, when the shifting is closer, DANN can easily fit the model so it can perform well in both domains. It proves DANN is one of the good approaches to performing domain adaptation in small discrepancies. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid growth of video data, video summarization is a promising approach to shorten a lengthy video into a compact version. Although supervised summarization approaches have achieved state-of-the-art performance, they require frame-level annotated labels. Such an annotation process is time-consuming and tedious. In this article, we propose a novel deep summarization framework named Deep Semantic and Attentive Network for Video Summarization (DSAVS) that can select the most semantically representative summary by minimizing the distance between video representation and text representation without any frame-level labels. Another challenge associated with video summarization tasks mainly originates from the difficulty of considering temporal information over a long time. Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) performs well for temporal dependencies modeling but does not work well with long video clips. Therefore, we introduce a self-attention mechanism into our summarization framework to capture the long-range temporal dependencies among the frames. Extensive experiments on two popular benchmark datasets, i.e., SumMe and TVSum, show that our proposed framework outperforms other state-of-the-art unsupervised approaches and even most supervised methods. © 2022 Association for Computing Machinery.

Penghu Islands (Pescadores), Taiwan's outlying islands surrounded by the sea, boast rich fishing resources that attract many anglers. However, successful fishing requires more than just gear: it involves understanding the varying fish species available in different locations, times, and climates, as well as adhering to relevant laws and regulations. To address these needs, this paper proposes an environmentally friendly fishing Android-based mobile device App specifically for the Penghu Islands. The proposed Android-based mobile device App aims to gather essential information, including local fishing regulations, aquatic safety tips, and important precautions. Its goal is to equip fishermen with the resources necessary to fish successfully and with peace of mind.

Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) are commonly used in data-driven approaches to estimate the Remaining Useful Lifetime (RUL) of power electronic devices. RNNs are preferred because their intrinsic feedback mechanisms are better suited to model time-series data. However, the impact of RNN complexity on estimation accuracy is rarely discussed in the literature. This issue is important because choosing a lower-complexity model that delivers the same or similar performance as a higher-complexity model can increase implementation efficiency. In the paper, we use three RNN models, namely, the vanilla version, LSTM (Long Short Term Memory) and GRU (Gated Recurrent Unit) to conduct RUL estimation for power electronic devices. We use two accelerated aging datasets, one dataset targeting the package failure of MOSFETs, and the other dataset targeting package failure of power diodes. Our study shows that a lower-complexity RNN does not necessarily deliver a lower performance. Similarly, a higher-complexity model does not assure a higher performance. As such, our work highlights the importance of selecting a proper neural network for RUL estimation not biased towards complex models. This is especially useful and important for implementing such RUL estimation techniques in embedded resource-constrained and speed-limited computins platforms.

An imaging scheme, which uses the frequency- domain reverse time migration (RTM) method to reconstruct two rough surfaces between three dielectric media from the scattered field measurements, is developed. The proposed method requires two steps for the reconstructions. At the first step, the RTM function that is computed using the scattered field measurements reveals only the upper rough surface. At the second step, it is first assumed that there is only one surface, the upper one. The forward scattering problem is solved for this scenario. Then, to reconstruct the lower surface, the difference between the scattered fields obtained from this forward scattering problem and the scattered field measurements is used to compute the RTM function of the second step. This second RTM function reveals the lower surface. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed two-step scheme is effective and promising.

Numerical methods that can accurately reconstruct rough surface profiles are used in various fields of engineering such as remote sensing, microwave imaging, optics, nondestructive testing, etc. These methods express the electromagnetic scattered fields measured away from the surface itself as an integral function of the surface profile. This mapping is highly nonlinear and ill-posed (D. Colton and R. Kress, 1998, SpringerVerlag, Berlin), and therefore its inversion for reconstruction of the surface profile from measured scattered fields is challenging. This inversion can done using semi-analytic asymptotic approaches such as the small perturbation and the Rytov approximation methods (A.G. Voronovich, 2013, Springer-Verlag, Berlin), however the range of applicability of these approaches is rather limited. Fully numerical methods that rely on Newton-type iterative linearization techniques and regularization schemes such as those in (S. Arhab, et al., PIERS, pp. 3495–3500, 2017) and (A. Sefer, A. Yapar, IEEE Trans. Geosci Remote Sens., vol. 59, pp. 1041–1051, 2021) have a wider range of applicability but they suffer from convergence and accuracy issues.
