In this paper we present a new and alternative approach for automatically classifying the e-mail documents into a fuzzy hierarchical structure. We have used data mining and fuzzy logic techniques to solve this problem. The FIS-CRM model (based on the fuzzy synonymy interrelation and the fuzzy generality interrelation) is used to achieve a conceptual representation of the messages. A soft-clustering algorithm is also used for categorizing the documents and the defined folders. Using both mechanisms we get an efficient organization of the mailbox. This contribution then allows us to develop a portable and easy-to-use tool (fzMail) for efficient e-mail management. This tool will take under consideration the existing structure and the user preferences for classifying a new mail.

An important problem in extracting maximum benefits from an SDRAM-based architecture is to exploit data locality at the page granularity. Frequent switches between data pages can increase memory latency and have an impact on energy consumption. In this paper, we propose a mathematical formulation, using Presburger arithmetic and Ehrhart polynomials to-estimate the number of page breaks statically (i.e., at compile time). The results obtained using video codes indicate that the proposed framework can estimate the number of page breaks with good accuracy.
