In this paper, we are going to verify the possibility to create a ransomware simulation that will use an arbitrary combination of known tactics and techniques to bypass an anti-malware defense. To verify this hypothesis, we conducted an experiment in which an agent was trained with the help of reinforcement learning to run the ransomware simulator in a way that can bypass anti-ransomware solution and encrypt the target files. The novelty of the proposed method lies in applying reinforcement learning to anti-ransomware testing that may help to identify weaknesses in the anti-ransomware defense and fix them before a real attack happens.

The field of research known as “parallel processing” examines architectural and algorithmic methods for increasing the efficiency and other desirable qualities (such as cost-effectiveness and reliability) of computers by exploiting many forms of concurrency. The development of multi-core CPUs has opened the door to novel strategies for boosting system performance via parallelism. Increasing the number of concurrent threads greatly affects the time cost. While increased parallelism might reduce calculation time, the associated synchronization costs would likely be prohibitive for most applications. In this article, we'll go through the first half of the process, which involves gathering requirements and designing a prototype; the second half, which involves monitoring and managing a program that can run on a wide range of multicore system architectures, including those with (2, 4, and 8 CPUs). A shared-memory parallel processing method was proposed and built to show off the system's full potential. The implications of multi-core systems on overall program execution time and parallel processing in shared-memory systems provide the backbone of this investigation.

This paper presents the short circuit performance of a novel SiC circuit breaker device, which is based on the “thyristor dual” functionality. The developed device structure is motivated with regard to manufacturing aspects and electrical requirements. Furthermore, the basic “thyristor dual” operation is elaborated on the basis of quasi-static electrical measurements of a fabricated prototype. The proposed self-sensing and self-triggering devices make auxiliary circuitry like sensors and micro-controllers expendable and practically have no propagation delay. As a result, short circuit clearance within 122 ns at 800 V is demonstrated in experiments. Moreover, by utilisation of a third device terminal, a temporary current limiter functionality can be obtained. The scalability of the current limit value is discussed on the basis of measurements in time domain. The maximum current limit value achieved is 7.4 times higher than the trigger current level of the circuit breaker device. Additionally, the same circuit configuration which is used for the current limiting mode, allows to remotely reset the circuit breaker after it turned to blocking-state. This opens up a wide range of possibilities to enhance the circuit breaker with intelligent functionalities.

Brain function is substantially linked to the highly organized structure of neuronal networks. The structures of in vitro assembled neuronal circuits often vary between samples and change over time, making it challenging to reliably record network functional output and link it to network structure. Therefore, engineering neuronal structures with predefined geometry and reproducible functional features is essential to robustly model in vivo neuronal circuits. Here, we engineered thin microchannel devices to assemble 2D and 3D modular networks. The microchannel devices were coupled with a multi-electrode array (MEA) electrophysiology system to enable long-term electrophysiology recordings from microengineered circuits. Each network consisted of 64 modules connected to their adjacent modules by micron-sized channels. The microstructures physically confined neurons to the recording electrodes, which significantly improved the efficiency of electrophysiology readout. In addition, the microstructures maintained the modular network structure for weeks. Modular circuits within microfluidic devices showed consistent spatial patterns of activity over weeks, which was lacking in the randomly formed circuits. The number of physical connections per module was shown to influence the measured activity and functional connectivity parameters, which represents the impact of network structure on its functional output. We show that microengineered 3D modular networks with profound activity and higher number of functional connections recapitulate key functional features of developing cortex. Structurally and functionally stable 2D and 3D networks mimic the modular architecture of brain circuits and provide a robust and reproducible in vitro microphysiological system for basic and translational neuroscience research. © 2024, The Authors. User dissatisfaction due to buffering pauses during streaming is a significant cost to the system, which we model as a non-decreasing function of the frequency of buffering pause. Minimization of total user dissatisfaction in a multi-channel cellular network leads to a non-convex problem. Utilizing a combinatorial structure in this problem, we first propose a polynomial time joint admission control and channel allocation algorithm which is provably (almost) optimal. This scheme assumes that the base station (BS) knows the multimedia frame statistics of the streams. In a more practical setting, where these statistics are not available a priori at the BS, a learning based scheme with provable guarantees is developed. This learning based scheme has relation to regret minimization in multi-armed bandits with non-i.i.d. and delayed reward (cost). All these algorithms require none to minimal feedback from the user equipment to the base station regarding the states of the media player buffer at the application layer, and hence, are of practical interest. The quadcopter is an advanced intelligent type of helicopter with four rotors; Qc is despite its intelligence and the complexity of its electronic parts, it is distinguished by the simplicity of the structure and its symmetry, and the four sides are equal in size, weight, and power of the motors. At present, the design of the quadcopter has diversified into a structure that takes the shape of a plus sign, others take a structure shaped like a letter H or hybrid H, and one that is the most common that takes the letter X, which we will work on. The most susceptible portion of the quadcopter to failure is the arms because they are sensitive to multiple types of stress, including fracture due to collision or fall and failure due to overloading. The goal of this study is to improve the design of the quadruple arm so that it can reliably lift heavy loads. The quad frame was designed with a size of 60 cm and a weight of 2 kg. eight structures of the same material (PLA), the same size wheelbase and the same weight, but in different arm shapes, these frames designed and analyzed statically by the SolidWorks Simulation to find the stresses, deformations, and areas of weakness in each arms separately, assuming the same power of motors and the same size of the propeller (lifting force) and the gravity force. The results showed that the bearing strength of the arm dep.nds on the shape of the cross-sectional area along the length of the arm according to the laws of bending stress.

A discrete-time reputation-based resilient consensus algorithm for synchronous or asynchronous communications

We tackle the problem of a set of agents achieving resilient consensus in the presence of attacked agents. We present a discrete-time reputation-based consensus algorithm for synchronous and asynchronous networks by developing a local strategy where, at each time, each agent assigns a reputation (between zero and one) to each neighbor. The reputation is then used to weigh the neighbors' values in the update of its state. Under mild assumptions, we show that: (i) the proposed method converges exponentially to the consensus of the regular agents;(ii) if a regular agent identifies a neighbor as an attacked node, then it is indeed an attacked node;(iii) if the consensus value of the normal nodes differs from that of any of the attacked nodes' values, then the reputation that a regular agent assigns to the attacked neighbors goes to zero. Further, we extend our method to achieve resilience in the scenarios where there are noisy nodes, dynamic networks and stochastic node selection. Finally, we illustrate our algorithm with several examples, and we delineate some attacking scenarios that can be dealt by the current proposal but not by the state-of-the-art approaches. In this paper, an electronic instrument was developed that can detect electrical energy without using the conventional probes. The proposed system can detect the AC and DC voltage via wireless detector. The circuit design is based on the theory of an electronic circuit consisting of Darlington transistors that have a high gain, and a copper strip (or wire) is used as a probe. It is primarily concerned with the development of an electronic circuit for the safe handling of hazardous electrical, radiation and chemical substances. Furthermore, the proposed system offers multipurpose services such as short circuit prevention and troubleshooting as well as cable disconnection prevention. It also utilizes hazardous sensor services for any leakage voltages and currents since only DC voltages are used in the circuit design. The design is considered "green innovation" due to the fact that a DC voltage source is used rather than AC or high voltage. Intelligently designed and selection practices make efficient use of resources and minimize energy consumption by creating efficient environments. System analysis has been conducted using Python software since this language offers flexibility, and is simple to use.

Wayback Machine: A tool to capture the evolutionary behaviour of the bug reports and their triage process in open-source software systems

The issue tracking system (ITS) is a rich data source for data-driven decision-making. Different characteristics of bugs, such as severity, priority, and time to fix, provide a clear picture of an ITS. Nevertheless, such information may be misleading. For example, the exact time and the effort spent on a bug might be significantly different from the actual reporting time and the fixing time. Similarly, these values may be subjective, e.g., severity and priority values are assigned based on the intuition of a user or a developer rather than a structured and well-defined procedure. Hence, we explore the evolution of the bug dep.ndency graph together with priority and severity levels to explore the actual triage process. Inspired by the idea of the "Wayback Machine" for the World Wide Web, we aim to reconstruct the historical decisions made in the ITS. Therefore, any bug prioritization or bug triage algorithms/scenarios can be applied in the same environment using our proposed ITS Wayback Machine. More importantly, we track the evolutionary metrics in the ITS when a custom triage/prioritization strategy is employed. We test the efficiency of the proposed algorithm using data extracted from three open-source projects. Our empirical study sheds light on the overlooked evolutionary metrics - e.g., overdue bugs and developers' loads - which are facilitated via our proposed past-event re-generator.
