In this literature, a novel left-handed circularly polarized voltage-controlled leaky wave antenna is presented with a scanning range of 0° to -37° with a perfect axial ratio at the most time below 2 dB. The structure dep.nds on CRLH (Composite Right/Left Handed) transmission line with a cross finger coupled line added, which gives additional performance on the farfield axial ratio. Also the principle of the structure is discussed and an equivalent circuit is presented for further study. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel approach is presented to calculate the lumped parameters of right/left-handed Structures. By this method, the equivalent circuit can be extracted, and the left/right handed features can be certified. Furthermore, the propagation constant of periodic structures can fit well with simulation and measurement. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a universal off-board charger for electrical vehicles (EVs), that can charge different categories of EVs, from light low-voltage EVs to heavy high-voltage EVs. The proposed off-board battery charger is based on an interleaved AC-DC converter such that each supply phase is connected to an interleaved buck-boost converter through an isolating transformer followed by a bridge rectifier. To ensure of stable operation of the proposed charger, the control strategy contains three flowed control loops. The outer loop is to regulate the charger output voltage. While the middle-cascaded loop is for battery charging current control, the last control loop is used to ensure that the grid current is sinusoidal at the unity power factor. The performance of the off-board battery charger and its capability to operate as a level '3' charger with a wide voltage range is tested using PSCAD/EMTDC simulation software. © 2024 IEEE.

PUSH: a primal heuristic based on Feasibility PUmp and SHifting

This work describes PUSH, a primal heuristic combining Feasibility Pump and Shifting. The main idea is to replace the rounding phase of the Feasibility Pump with a suitable adaptation of the Shifting and other rounding heuristics. The algorithm presents different strategies, dep.nding on the nature of the partial rounding obtained. In particular, we distinguish when the partial solution is feasible, infeasible with potential candidates and infeasible without candidates. We used a threshold to indicate the percentage of variables to round with our algorithm and which other to round to the nearest integer. Most importantly, our algorithm tackles directly equality constraints without duplicating rows. We select the parameters of our algorithm on the 19 instances provided for the Mip Competition 2022. Finally, we compared our approach to other start heuristics, like Simple Rounding, Rounding, Shifting and Feasibility Pump on the first 800 MIPLIB2017 instances ordered by the number of non *** Codes 90-08 Copyright © 2022, The Authors. The failures auto-sensing becomes increasingly essential in the complex systems exploitation. This article consists in working out a system of defects diagnosis based on an artificial intelligence technique which associates fuzzy logic with neural networks. The method is applied to obtain the DAMADICS (Development and Application of Methods for Actuator Diagnosis in Industrial control Systems). This technique with its capacities of generalization and memorizing gives effective diagnostic tools. In the first part of this work, we studied the modelling of this industrial actuator, simulation gives an idea of the actuator behaviour in a normal mode functioning. Then, we carried out the diagnosis of defects during abnormal operations by using a neuro-fuzzy classifier. © 2010 IEEE.

For several economical, financial and operational reasons, forecasting energy demand becomes a key instrument in energy system management. This paper develops a natural gas forecasting approach, which consists of two major phases: 1) it classifies the natural gas consumption daily pattern sequences into different groups with similar attributes. 2) the design and training of multiple autoregressive Gaussian Process models phase is carried out using the Algerian natural gas market data together with exogenous inputs consisting in weather (temperature) and calendar (day of the week, hour indicator) factors. The main novelty in this work consists of the investigation of multiple different clustering techniques for better analysis and clustering of natural gas consumption data. The impact of the obtained clusters, by each technique, is then summarized and evaluated with respect to the prediction accuracy.

This study presents a dipper-throated-based ant colony optimization (DTACO) with the Seasonal Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average with eXogenous factor (SARIMAX) model (DTACO+SARIMAX) to forecast monkeypox cases. The work optimizes the SARIMAX model using grid search cross-validation and fine-tunes its hyperparameters using DTACO to improve prediction accuracy. The suggested model's consistency and accuracy are considerable compared to previous studies. Comparisons with state-of-the-art models validate the proposed model's predictions. DTACO+SARIMAX can be used to control disease and monitor monkeypox. Healthcare organizations and governments can better manage and track the pandemic's course by offering accurate predictions, reducing public panic, and enabling effective pandemic planning. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests are conducted on the proposed DTACO-SARIMAX model and compared models. © 2023 IEEE.

Energy communities are emerging entities which need their own Information and Communication System. Resilience is a key metric of such communities, and it has to be implemented for both energy supply versus public network outages and for its information system versus cyber-attacks, acting as cyber-citadels which have to resist external malicious attacks while having also digital interactions with external entities. The paper presents solutions for a resilient energy community with appropriate implementations of digital interaction for data exchange, in order to acquire external energy service for specialized companies and to deliver also information and communication-related services for external users. Principles of a Contractual Data Protection Regulation are presented, as an adaptation of data protection tailored for automated energy services and based on secure data exchange. The principles are verified in a demonstration project which has also external entities with digital interaction. © 20XX IEEE.

Toward HAZOP 4.0 Approach for Managing the Complexities of the Hazard and Operability of an Industrial Polymerization Reactor

Conventional HAZOP is a collaborative and multidisciplinary activity to identify the hazards associated to operability of the chemical processes. Then the consequences and required safeguards of each potential deviation or failure are assessed qualitatively one by one. It is performed with the assumption of "one failure at the time" for the process parameters. Furthermore, process complexities such as multiple failures, domino effects, time and amplitude dep.ndent deviations etc. are avoided to keep the HAZOP brainstorming sessions systematic and effective. Therefore, the quality and outcomes of HAZOP study are relatively subjective and dep.nd on the experience and competency of the HAZOP team. This simplified approach cannot fully cover the hazard identification and risk assessment of the complex processes such as polymerization. Furthermore, the incident investigations show that almost all major accidents have occurred due to multiple failures or domino effects. This paper aims at developing a practical methodology in the context of "Industry 4.0" and particularly illustrate how dynamic simulation liberates the HAZOP team from the simplification assumptions such as one failure at the time or neglecting the domino effects during the lifecycle of the complex processes. An industrial styrene bulk free radical polymerization process has been chosen as the case study to dep.ct the applicability of the proposed method. In continuation of this research, the dynamic simulation integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and Multivariable Process Monitoring (MPM) together with virtual collaboration tools will be invoked towards a more practical and effective HAZOP 4.0 platform. Such a platform can be the foundation of the further Process Safety Management (PSM) elements such as "Operating manuals", "Training and Competency management", "Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance", "Management of Change", "Pre-Start-up Safety Review", etc.

This paper evaluates the performance of a double-stage converter for electric vehicles onboard charger applications. The dual-boost AC-DC converter is chosen as a front-end converter since it has higher efficiency, small passive element size, and lower EMI interference than the other AC-DC converters. A coupled inductor-based design for the AC-DC converter is chosen to overcome issues related to reserve current flowing problems for the rectifier body diodes and achieve zero-current switching (ZCS). Based on an LLC resonant network, the back-end converter provides galvanic isolation. To achieve ZVS, the LLC resonant converter frequency is higher than the resonance frequency. The suggested LLC resonant converter differs from the traditional LLC resonant in using two identical tiny transformers instead of utilizing one large transformer. This approach reduces the current stress on the secondary winding and decreases converter diode conduction losses.
