Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is widely-used for the monitoring of agriculture crops. Its interpretation is based on thresholds and the colormaps used for the visualization of NDVI maps are discrete. We propose a fuzzy logic approach for both the visualization and the interpretation of the NDVI maps. The rationale is that the NDVI values of agricultural crops exhibit a certain spread, while the interpretation based on thresholds is prone to a certain degree of incertitude. We define several membership functions for modeling three sub intervals of the NDVI values in the [0, 1] range, useful for the interpretation of the vegetation status for agricultural crops. The three sub intervals are corresponding to three categories of vegetation status: dried-out vegetation, moderately healthy and strongly developed. For a Sentinel-2 time series, we compare the visualization using the crisp logic, the Sentinel-2 color palette, and the color palettes resulting from the proposed membership functions implementing the fuzzy logic. We show that our colormap has a smoother color gradient, which can facilitate a more visually-appealing and interpretable transition of colors. We also show an example of inference for the interpretation of the NDVI values for an operational usage of the proposed fuzzy logic approach. © 2024 IEEE.

Fast Normalized Cross-Correlation for Template Matching with Rotations

Normalized cross-correlation is the reference approach to carry out template matching on images. When it is computed in Fourier space, it can handle efficiently template translations but it cannot do so with template rotations. Including rotations requires sampling the whole space of rotations, repeating the computation of the correlation each time. This article develops an alternative mathematical theory to handle efficiently, at the same time, rotations and translations. Our proposal has a reduced computational complexity because it does not require to repeatedly sample the space of rotations. To do so, we integrate the information relative to all rotated versions of the template into a unique symmetric tensor template -which is computed only once per template-. Afterward, we demonstrate that the correlation between the image to be processed with the indep.ndent tensor components of the tensorial template contains enough information to recover template instance positions and rotations. Our proposed method has the potential to speed up conventional template matching computations by a factor of several magnitude orders for the case of 3D *** Codes 68U10 © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Several approaches to forecasting agricultural production have been used across the country, but they have focused on information widely detected with technology that was not very successful. Unfortunately, because of many difficulties such as climate variables (50% global fog cover) with limited temporal accuracy, the remotely detected information necessary to predict crop production was often insufficient. As a result of these problems, existing methods of estimating agricultural production are ineffective or out of date. Several efforts have been made to overcome these challenges by combining images with high temporal accuracy but poor geographic detail. On the other hand, it is this kind of situation that is most suitable for extremely large and homogeneous agricultural areas. An innovative theoretical framework has developed that explains this absence of high-quality satellite images. This intelligent method was built around this new theoretical framework, which incorporates its use of something like the energy equation to improve the predictions of multiple cultures. Many producers were contacted and data regarding agricultural production were obtained to validate the results of the smart technology. The excellent reliability of this intelligent method has been shown by a comparative contrast between projected crop yields and actual output in various areas.

This paper deals with the design process and the dynamic control simulation of a new type of 4-DOFs parallel mechanism that can be used as an endoscopie surgical manipulator. The proposed mechanism, 2-PUU 2PUS, is designed based on the screw theory and the parallel virtual chain type synthesis method. Based on the structure analysis of the 4-DOF parallel mechanism, the inverse position equation is studied using the inverse analysis theory of kinematics. The design and the stress analysis of the mechanism are investigated using SolidWorks software. The virtual prototype of the parallel mechanism is constructed, and the dynamic simulation is performed using ADAMS™ software. The system model utilizing PID and PI controllers has been built using MATLAB software. A more realistic simulation in accordance with a given bending angle and point to point control is implemented by the use of both ADAMS/MATLAB software. The simulation results showed that this control method has solved the coordinate control for the 4-DOF parallel manipulator so that each output is feedback to the four driving rods. From the results, the tracking performance is achieved. Other control techniques, such as intelligent ones, are recommended to improve the tracking performance and reduce the numerical truncation error. © 2012 IEEE.

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a communication technology for wirelessly delivering high-speed Internet service to large geographical areas, Offering a metropolitan area network with a signal radius of about 50 km (800Km2). WiMAX bandwidth high coverage range can be utilized in different potential applications, Since the Sensor network is used to monitor and collect data about physical phenomena such as heat, humidity, and vibration, though the sensor node are very small and may can be dep.oyed in light. Sensor nodes are powered by batteries that can operate for only a short period of time, which results in short network lifetime, to reduce the Sensor Node energy Consumption new mechanism is proposed by connecting WiMAX Base Station with Sensor Networks, WiMAX can be connected directly to all Sensor Nodes Sink, this Sink is responsible for limited number of nods, this mechanism called WiMAX and Sensor Connecting(WSC), applying WSC to an attempt to control forest fires means sensor sink node can directly send data to WiMAX Base Station which mean no need for Sensor sink nodes to communicate with each other anymore!. Experiments and result show that the WSC mechanism can greatly save sensor node energy thus can prolong the lifetime of the whole network to a greater degree. More advantages from (connecting Wimax with WSN) WSC will be discussed in this paper.

To date, accounting and financial sciences have attempted to assess companies using financial ratios and other techniques that evaluate only the front office, without considering its impact to the environment. Recently, this assessment has been expanded to include new concepts, known as corporate social responsibility and social balance. These new concepts are usually viewed and studied using a multidisciplinary perspective with an aim to update the current and future value of the company. In this evolving scientific field a considerable effort has been made to objectively record and calculate the environmental impact of a company's activities by integrating these elements into a new form of economic balance sheet. Organizations today represent dynamic complex systems and their behaviour cannot be examined effectively through the reductionist view of it. Competitive advantage is the ability to exploit opportunities that occur inside and outside the organisation, and adapt to meet these opportunities. It is the alignment of external and internal environments of an organization, which create and sustain competitive advantage. The use of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a performance measure and a strategic control tool, contributes to organization's survival and success. The adoption of the BSC contributes to certain type of behaviour, which is elicited through the use of positive feedback. Acceptable actions are reinforced through the appropriate culture (norms and values) and rewards linked to performance. As the pace of change is increasing, there is a constant demand for creativity and innovation. Agile and flexible BSC serves as strange attractors in the system's agents behaviour, operating in a turbulent dynamic environment. Feedbacks and information distributed throughout the system, upgrading knowledge and ultimately improving performance through learning. Organizations that are able to learn from their environment and change their internal structure survive and prosper through transformation, which is substantially influenced by strange attractors. Chaos theory can help us to understand and improve the transformation process and through the use of the BSC. © 2011 Kavala Institute of technology.

This paper sets out to apply concepts of non linear dynamics theory nai neural networks to the prediction of CDS index using Greek, Turkey, Russia, Brazil and China data. The research employs the method of false near neighbors in the time series analysis in order to estimate the minimum membedding dimensions of the corresponding strange attractor. To achieve out of the sample multistep ahead prediction, a neural net is constructed which architectures based on strange attractors topological properties. © 2011 Kavala Institute of technology.
