Typical aerospace embedded computers have many characters in common, especially in the aspect of the design of computerarchitecture. To evaluate this category of computers, 3 typical aerospace embedded computers were sampled and their characters of architecture and common technology were analyzed. Eight characters of architecture were concluded, and three evaluation dimensions were proposed. A basic guideline and a practical reference value or design were attached to each architecture character. The relationship was analyzed among the final assessment result, the evaluation dimensions and the architecture characters. Any aerospace embedded computer can be scored according to the assessment model for various estimate requirements. The evaluating method and progress were illustrated through one kind of advanced aerospace embedded computer's evaluation case. The case indicates that the assessment model is clear, effective and practical. It can provide some guidance for the design and performance analysis of aerospace embedded computers.

Long-term self-monitoring of weight is beneficial for weight maintenance, especially after weight loss. Connected weight scales accumulate time series information over long term and hence enable time series analysis of the data. The analysis can reveal individual patterns, provide more sensitive detection of significant weight trends, and enable more accurate and timely prediction of weight outcomes. However, long term self-weighing data has several challenges which complicate the analysis. Especially, irregular sampling, missing data, and existence of periodic (e.g. diurnal and weekly) patterns are common. In this study, we apply time series modeling approach on daily weight time series from two individuals and describe information that can be extracted from this kind of data. We study the properties of weight time series data, missing data and its link to individuals behavior, periodic patterns and weight series segmentation. Being able to understand behavior through weight data and give relevant feedback is desired to lead to positive intervention on health behaviors.

This paper addresses the problem of finite-time convergence in a social network for a political party or an association, modeled as a distributed iterative system with a graph dynamics chosen to mimic how people interact. It is firstly shown that, in this setting, finite-time convergence is achieved only when nodes form a complete network, and that contacting with agents with distinct opinions reduces to a half the required interconnections. Two novel strategies are presented that enable finite-time convergence, even for the case where each node only contacts the two closest neighbors. These strategies are of prime importance, for instance, in a company environment where agents can be motivated to reach faster conclusions. The performance of the proposed policies is assessed through simulation, illustrating, in particular the finite-time convergence property.

In distributed cloud storages fault tolerance is maintained by regenerating the lost coded data from the surviving clouds. Recent studies suggest using maximum distance separable (MDS) network codes in cloud storage systems to allow efficient and reliable recovery after node faults. MDS codes are designed to use a substantial number of repair nodes and rely on centralized management and a static fully connected network between the nodes. However, in highly dynamic environments, like edge caching in communication networks or peer-to-peer networks, availability of the nodes and the communication links is very volatile. In these scenarios MDS codes functionality is limited. In this paper we study a non-MDS network coded approach, which operates in a decentralized manner and requires a small number of repair nodes for node recovery. We investigate long-term behavior and durability of the modeled system in terms of the storage life time, i.e. the number of the cycles of nodes failure and recovery after which the storage no longer have enough data to decode the original source packets. We demonstrate, analytically and numerically, the life time gains over uncoded storage.

Land use and land cover change (LUCC) is necessary to explore the factors leading to heavy drought and rainy-flood disaster in some districts of Sichuan province. A method based RS, GIS, GPS and Google earth (GE) is presented to establish LUCC database in Sichuan province and Chengdu district. At first, LUCC is interpreted based on the new temporal images and the land use and land cover database from TM in ***, some ground objects, which could not be identified in the new temporal images, were interpreted utilizing GE with some higher spatial resolution images. Thirdly, the new interpreted LUCC was validated in the field with GPS handheld receiver. Then, LUCC of Sichuan province was updated. A comparative analysis of LUCC between in Sichuan province and in Chengdu district was conducted and the result showed: (1) a large amount of farmland in Sichuan Province was occupied from 2000 to 2005 and the area is 84 573 ha. While construction land gained obviously and the area was 35 828 ha. The dynamic degree of construction land was 111.10 0 / 00 from 2000 to 2005. The LUCC demonstrated that the economy of Sichuan province continued to develop, the cities were overspreading and the urban heat island effect was deteriorated from 2000 to 2005. (2) A large amount of farmland was also occupied in Chengdu district from 2000 to 2005, the area amounted to 12 989 ha. The farmland lost was mainly changed to construction land, amounting to 93%. And the dynamic degree was 117.41 0 / 00 from 2000 to 2005, which was bigger than that in Sichuan province.

In this work, we propose an energy-efficient HTTP adaptive streaming for high-quality video over heterogeneous networks (HetNets). To support high-quality video and overcome the limitations of a single network, the proposed system downloads the video segments by concurrently using the HetNets. In the proposed system, the segment bitrate, number of requested segments, network sleep time, and size of requested data through each wireless network are determined adaptively to provide seamless high-quality video streaming in an energy and cost efficient way. The proposed system is fully implemented in an Android-based mobile device and tested in an actual wireless network environments.
