During a real time control process, a set of controllers that use different control policies have been used to control the temperature of a simulated room during 200 minutes under the same conditions. All the realized simulations have been repeated five times with two different sets of set points. A quantitative comparison between the performance of the conventional controllers and the new Adaptive and Self-Organizing Fuzzy Controller proposed in this work will be performed. This latter can adapt and self-organize their internal parameters in real time using just a few qualitative information about the plant (the monotonicity sign and the delay time) and without allocate a rule base. Using all results of the performed simulations as a set of sampling for the statistical tool ANOVA (Analysis Of Variance), we have been able to emphasize the extrapolability of the obtained results (the committed error and the power consumption) and illustrate the great contribution that brings the new Adaptive and Self-Organizing Fuzzy Control policy proposed in this paper.

Wireless cellular networks have gained a great success in the past few years. However, with the trend of network structure to be more heterogeneous and integrated new challenges arise, among which efficiently allocating resource for supporting multiple traffic (voice, video, data, and etc) is the crucial one. Meanwhile, achieving seamless mobility which involving supports for both roaming and handoff between networks is another important challenge. Under this environment, channel allocation control (CAC), especially the handoffs management is still the key issue to the QoS and resource utilization (RU) of wireless cellular networks. In this paper, we address RU as well as grade of service (GoS) analysis concerned with the adaptive guard channels control scheme for differentiated traffic types in wireless cellular networks.

This paper considers the characteristics of high-speed train in precise timing information, such as arrival time, dep.nding duration on station, traveling time and location of the train, to design a video proxy agent for VoD service in train. Based on the information of current active video streams, a burst pre-fetching scheme in video proxy agent is developed when the high-speed train dep.nds on station. The video data required by the passengers in near future are burst downloaded to the video proxy to release the bandwidth constrain during the train traveling. The most of playback video data can be provided by the video proxy agent during the train traveling. The burst pre-fetching scheme increases the system performance and video playback quality. The simulation result reveals that the proposed scheme has better results in term of system capacity and the amount of missed deadline data compared with other schemes.
