At present, mobile network operators pay much more attention to personalized service than they used to. It is necessary to provide pertinent service to different customers who may have different demands. To meet the need of personalized recommendation system and aim at implementing personalized application recommendation, a new model in the OTA (Over the Air) system is proposed at the beginning of this paper. Then the paper focuses on the relationship between user's behavior of using this system and their preference and discusses the interests reflected by their behavior, and gives an algorithm of mining users' preference. And then the paper introduces a personalized application recommendation engine based on the methods of clustering and mining association rules to implement recommendation about valuable application items for users.

Quantum computing algorithms are considered for several problems in graph theory. Classical algorithms involve searching over some space for finding the minimal spanning tree problem in a graph. We modify classical Prim's algorithm and replace quantum search instead of classical search, of which it will lead to more efficient algorithm. Also we we proposed the structure for non-classical algorithms and design the various phases of the probabilistic quantum-classical algorithm for classical and quantum parts. Finally, we represent the result of implementing and simulating Prim's algorithm in the probabilistic quantum-classical algorithm.

An important approach to reduce power dissipation is reducing the number of instructions executed by the processor. To achieve this goal, this paper introduces a novel instruction scheduling algorithm that executes an instruction only when its result is required by another instruction. In this manner, it not only does not execute useless instructions, but also reduces the number of instructions executed after a mispredicted branch. The cost of the extra hardware is 161 bytes for 128 instruction window size. Measurements done using SPEC CPU 2000 benchmarks show that the average number of executed instructions is reduced by 13.5% while the average IPC is not affected.

The size of unified modeling language (UML) models used in practice is very large and ranges up to hundreds and thousands of classes. Querying of these models is used to support their quality assessment by information filtering and aggregating. For both, human cognition and automated analysis, there is a need for fast querying. In this context performance of model queries becomes an important issue. We investigated performance characteristics of two different querying engines: one using the object constraint language (OCL) and the other using prolog. Our comparison is based on equivalent queries in both languages. We applied the queries to 118 models of a size up to 10000 classes to analyze model load and evaluation time. Our preliminary results show that if execution time of queries is linear then prolog is faster. For one of the presented cases, the execution time in prolog was nonlinear and thus higher. Further studies should focus on a performance analysis reflecting expressiveness aspects. Our experimental material is accessible to enable future replications of this study.

In this paper, a motion-based approach for detecting highlevel semantic events in video sequences is presented. Its main characteristic is its generic nature, i.e. it can be directly applied to any possible domain of concern without the need for domain-specific algorithmic modifications or adaptations. For realizing event detection, the video is initially segmented into shots and for every resulting shot appropriate motion features are extracted at fixed time intervals, thus forming a motion observation sequence. Then, Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) are employed for associating each shot with a semantic event based on its formed observation sequence. Regarding the motion feature extraction procedure, a new representation for providing local-level motion information to HMMs is presented, while motion characteristics from previous frames are also exploited. The latter is based on the observation that motion information from previous frames can provide valuable cues for interpreting the semantics present in a particular frame. Experimental results as well as comparative evaluation from the application of the proposed approach in the domains of tennis and news broadcast video are presented. Copyright 2008 ACM.

Network optimization especially in power industry is one of the main goals of system engineering. It not only reduces the cost of the system but also improves its stability. Among various methods of optimal control of power networks, like Linear Optimal Control (LOC), a model-based adaptive optimal method has been presented here which can also be used in multi machines systems with multimode high and low-frequency oscillations; although this paper only addresses linear and reduced machine-order equations which are derived from an equivalent system with an infinite-bus and a line. In this paper a model for the machine and the network is first presented and then by definitions of reference model and errors, these errors will be tend to zero in an optimal way, so that the system actually tracks the reference model. This method will be seen to be a general one and is applicable both in high and low frequencies.
