Data transfer rates for aggregated video data stream and within data centers nowadays require an electrical bandwidth up to 100 GHz. This poses big challenges for the design of proper test and measurement solutions, notably related to the acquisition of signals with such a wide bandwidth. To grant sufficient bandwidth and related sample rate, modern oscilloscopes have been using techniques based on frequency-interleaving and time-interleaving, respectively. Earlier this year, an alternative technique has been presented in a white paper [1],[2] based on which an oscilloscope that can offer an electrical bandwidth that is two times that of the adopted ADC has been launched. This result is obtained by combining the operations of a couple of time interleaved channels, each one made up of a mixer followed by an ADC. The paper presents a synchronous time interleaving technique, which can be regarded as an extension of the aforementioned technique. In fact, the proposed technique can be implemented through an architecture that includes four channels, each one including a mixer and an ADC, the latter having an input bandwidth equal to just one fourth the electrical bandwidth achieved by the system.

Due to increasing number of internet users, popularity of Broadband Internet also increasing. Hence the connection cost should be decrease due to Wi Fi connectivity and built-in sensors in devices as well the maximum number of devices should be connected through a common medium. To meet all these requirements, the technology so called Internet of Things is evolved. Internet of Things (IoT) can be considered as a connection of computing devices like smart phones, coffee maker, washing machines, wearable device with an internet. IoT create network and connect "things" and people together by creating relationship between either people-people, people-things or things-things. As the number of device connection is increased, it increases the Security risk. Security is the biggest issue for IoT at any companies across the globe. Furthermore, privacy and data sharing can again be considered as a security concern for IoT. Companies, those who use IoT technique, need to find a way to store, track, analyze and make sense of the large amounts of data that will be generated. Few security techniques of IoT are necessary to implement to protect your confidential and important data as well for device protection through some internet security threats.

This paper presents an equivalent self-consistent electrothermal circuit model for power integrity analysis of large on-chip power distribution networks. Two coupled circuits are used to co-simulate the electrical and thermal behavior of the power grid. After a steady-state analysis, the order of the circuit is strongly reduced by means of a node clustering technique. The obtained low-order circuit allows a cost-effective complete power integrity analysis, including dynamic analysis and evaluation of time-domain features like voltage droop. As a case-study, a 45-nm chip power grid is analyzed: the full circuit for the electrothermal model with 4 million nodes is reduced by a factor of about 3500×, with a relative error on the solution below few percent.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of different burnishing strategy on a C45 steel machining. Burnishing is a well-known, cold working surface improving technology, it is usually applied for cylindrical workpiece. In the reported research a novel developed magnetic assisted ball burnishing (MABB) tool was applied which was designed for MABB machining of flat and harmonic surfaces. To increase its efficiency, different types of machining strategies were applied. After the burnishing process the machined surfaces were measured by surface roughness tester to determine the most important Rsk and Rku tribological parameters. According to the results it can be stated that all different burnishing strategies have special application areas where they can be used efficiently (e.g. sliding surface, moulding tool and after- or pre-machining for ultra-precision machining).

This work develops a CMOS active delay line for microwave CW signals. The novel active delay line is mainly based on an injection-locking (IL) technique. The delay of the input signal is linear adjusted with various injection conditions. Comparing with conventional passive or active delay lines, the proposed active delay line has a wider delay tuning range and a higher gain. The implemented CMOS delay line achieves a wide operating range of 2 ~ 2.6 GHz with very wide delay tuning range from 45~220 ns. The power consumption is lower than 7.2 mW.

Recent trends in mobile cellular networks turn towards dep.oyment of Small Cell Networks (SCNs), where the cell size gets smaller and thus the number of subscribers served in a cell will be relatively smaller and should be considered finite. However, almost works on cellular mobile networks consider an infinite population cell, resulting commonly in infinite queueing models, for which no analytical solution is available for performance measures and only numerical approximations can be obtained. In this paper, a Call Admission Control (CAC) in a finite population micro-cell operating in a SCN, with retrials of blocked new calls, impatience of subscribers and multiple guard channels dedicated to handoff calls, is proposed. For the numerical computation of the steady-state probabilities of the corresponding continuous time Markov chain (CTMC), an efficient algorithm giving automatically the infinitesimal generator is developed, and various performance measures are established in network parameters and stationary probabilities. The guard channels number and retrials effect on the network performance in terms of blocking probability (for new calls and retrials) and dropping probability (of handoffs) is also carried out via experimental results.

This paper deals with symbol-pair error channels. First, we generalize the channels to symbol-tuple error channels whose read length is D. Then, we derive a message passing algorithm for decoding LDPC codes over the generalized channels. Furthermore, we investigate the Hamming distance distributions of LDPC codes in terms of D symbol-tuple metric.

Self-localization is the process of estimating the robot position exploiting noisy measurements. Since localization is a key issue for soccer playing robots, some probabilistic approaches have been developed over last years to address it. Methods based on Monte Carlo Localization (MCL) show good ability in dealing with kidnap problem, however, most of them are unstable with limited number of samples. On the other hand, Kalman filter extensions are among the best light weight estimators for position tracking. Their drawback is that they are unimodal and can't be used for global and kidnaped problems. Combining the advantages of these two approaches can lead to a valuable method. In this paper we propose a new hybrid localization method that utilizes the MCL and UKF to reach a stable, multimodal, and low weight localization method. The advantages of our method are evaluated in several experiments.

Grading of breast carcinoma plays an important role for identification of severity of the disease and prognostic treatment in histopathology. It also is one of important indicators of carcinoma patterns. In general, it dep.nds on three indices: tubule formation, nuclear plemorphism, and mitotic counts by scoring based on the degrees of cell differentiation or proliferation. However, scoring on these indices often subjects to intra-and inter-observer variability due to its complexities and manual classifications by pathologists. This study aims to accurately determine the scoring of tubule formation for histological grading using a series of image processing and a classifier consisting of support vector machine with Gaussian kernel function. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed method, a number of H&E stained images acquired from biopsy tissues of patients were tested with the proposed system for the scoring. Experimental result reveals that the proposed algorithms can obtain satisfactory scoring compared to other reported works. Therefore, it can provide reliable scores in the tubule formation and grade of breast carcinoma especially for ductal carcinoma.

Knowledge of the actual occupancy of a building is a main research interest for several domains. Building energy performance simulation software considers occupancy through the use of diversity profiles usually contained in predesigned templates. This paper aims to explore the extent of possible discrepancies between standard predefined occupancy diversity profiles, profiles extracted by business process modelling, profiles generated from real on field occupancy measurements. Occupancy measurements are obtained utilizing a novel robust, highly accurate real-time occupancy extraction system which is based on a dep.h cameras network. Results show that the incorporation of real accurate occupancy data, the appropriate understanding of the business processes that take place in building spaces have the potential to significantly enhance current Building Performance Simulation (BPS) software tools.
