Since finding and extracting a fixed signature for metamorphic viruses is hard due to the fact that, their shape changes frequently. Virus writers by using obfuscation methods make their viruses undetectable, in order to disable anti viruses to detect them easily, which ends in metamorphic viruses. We used hidden Markov model to propose the Detection Sphere method. We used three elements of a string occurrence probability, specifically-located character occurrence probability, and the amount of virus similarity to a family of viruses. The 94% detection rate result is magnificent in contrary to other anti-viruses which are less than 30%. More research and investment in multi-factor methods in hidden Markov model are recommended to detect viruses and malwares.

Catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) is one of the major existing problems in Intensive Care Units (ICU). CRBSI has a high prevalence and its treatment is quite costly in time and medication. One of the essential efforts in the diagnosis and treatment of CRBSI is the use of existing Clinical Guidelines (CG). Nevertheless, its adoption and integration into daily practice is quite complex due to the lack of software tools that cover all the needs. Considering this problem, in this work we identify some of the needs detected in daily work, and we present two tools for ICUs that makes the introduction of CGs and patient's data visualization simple. As a first goal we propose to obtain a computerized model of the clinical guideline. Gewel is an application that allows the mapping of a textual CG into a workflow model. In this tool we propose a process that (1) organizes the parts of the textual document according to GEM, (2) maps concepts to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, called CH4, so that it can automatically retrieve data and send HL7 messages, (3) supports the design of a workflow model that assists the following up of the steps and the measure of adherence to the CG, and (4) according to Evidence Based Medicine principles, allows the doctors to trace from the task or decision point of the workflow to the exact part of the document where it was originated. Once the CG is computerized and integrated in the EHR, the next goal is to identify key clinical problems, such as CRBSI, and retrieve the relevant information from the EHR. Due to the big amount of the EHR data registered in an ICU, physician's attention should be drawn to the clinical information related to the problem to be solved. We propose a mobile application, called mProblem View, that permits to establish and visualize relations between the elements of the EHR in a Problem-Oriented EHR approach.

The alternative electromagnetic (EM) fields radiating from a ship are widely recognized as new contributors to the application of underwater target detection. This paper focuses on the estimation of this extremely low frequency (ELF) signature from a fuzzy fusion enhancement aspect. Firstly, the ELF signature estimation problem is expanded to a fuzzy credibility solution issue, and a generalized multi-attribute fuzzy vector which represents each frequency points' line spectrum characteristic is obtained by a statistical procedure on sensor's instantaneous spectral analysis. Then, the fuzzy fusion method is applied to obtain the credible degree of each frequency point to be an ELF. Finally, threshold is set to extract ship's truly ELF signature with largest likelihood and shield interference of the noise ELF signature. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has particular advantage in remote target detection.

The effect of cobs on radar backscatter from a mature corn canopy is considered. In the past, a number of papers have modeled the backscattering properties of corn plants when the cobs are not present. It has been shown by O'Neill et al. [1] that the cob can constitute as much as one third of the total biomass of a mature corn plant. The position of the cob close to the stalk and the lack of knowledge of its dielectric properties make it difficult to model. These difficulties have been overcome with the aid of advanced numerical analysis tools and new biophysical measurements of the corn. © 2014 IEEE.

Multihoming is among the features of SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol), which makes it more robust and efficient than TCP(Transmission Control Protocol)but more vulnerable under attack. Nevertheless, a strong security can degrade the QoS(Quality of Service) by adding additional delay. Therefore, we propose in this paper, a secure authentication protocol that supports the establishment of multiple connections to protect multihoming networks with the least number of messages, number of parameters in each message and number of communicating nodes. The proposed scheme provides lower delay of authentication and protects against several attacks. Our devised protocol is analyzed using SPAN (Security Protocol Animator) for AVISPA (Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications) tool. The obtained validation results show that the scheme is safe.

Increasing of Java Scripts of malware requires automatic malware detection systems in these days. Our research takes note of the appearence probability and the state transition probability of first order Markov source for both of malware Java Script and other Java Script. The preexperiments found statistical significance. We propose the malware detection method using Mahalanobis-distance with the probability variable of the appearance probability of characters and the probability variable of state transition probability of first order Markov source. As the results of experiments, the method of combining two probability variables proved the effectiveness compared to the method using single probability variable.

Techniques for both exploratory and known item search tend to direct only to more specific subtopics or individual documents, as opposed to allowing directing the exploration of the information space. We present an interactive information retrieval system that combines Reinforcement Learning techniques along with a novel user interface design to allow active engagement of users in directing the search. Users can directly manipulate document features (keywords) to indicate their interests and Reinforcement Learning is used to model the user by allowing the system to trade off between exploration and exploitation. This gives users the opportunity to more effectively direct their search nearer, further and following a direction. A task-based user study conducted with 20 participants comparing our system to a traditional query-based baseline indicates that our system significantly improves the effectiveness of information retrieval by providing access to more relevant and novel information without having to spend more time acquiring the information. The continuing pervasion of our society with safety-critical cyber-physical systems not only demands for adequate (risk) analysis, testing and verification techniques, it also generates growing experience on their use, which can be considered as important as the tools themselves for their efficient use. This paper introduces workflow patterns to describe such best practices in a systematic way that efficiently represents this knowledge, and also provides a way to relate different patterns, making them easier to identify and use, and cover as wide a range of experiences as possible. The value of the approach is demonstrated using some pattern examples from a collection developed in the Artemis-project MBAT. Finally, the paper presents a wiki-based approach for developing and maintaining the pattern collection.

A method for the estimation of the direct-to-reverberant-ratio (DRR) from dual-channel microphone recordings without having knowledge of the source signal is proposed. The method is based on previous findings for the statistics of the room transfer function spectral standard deviation and its relationship to the DRR. A novel relationship for the standard deviation of the difference of the magnitude spectra of dual-channel microphone recordings as a function of the DRR is derived. The proposed DRR estimation method is tested and evaluated on reverberant signals recorded in various rooms and at various source/receiver distances.
