Relaxing a failing query to the successful one with smallest semantic gap is the goal in Web service discovery. A schema for query relaxing is proposed based on both service ontologies and users' behavior, where the conceptual hierarchies and the conceptual distribution density of the ontologiese are taken into account during query relaxing and the conceptual hierarchies of a ontology are enlarged based on users' behavior. A failing query can be relaxed to a successful one based on service ontologies and users' behavior with progressive processing. © 2007 IEEE.

Voltage instability of power system comes from increasing load rapidly, and causes bus voltage to drop. When voltage is out of control and it can be voltage collapse. This paper presents the fuzzy modeling approach to the description QV curve of power system for analysis of voltage stability. The QV curve can identify voltage stability limit, and it determine robustness of power system. The fuzzy system model is basically a collection of fuzzy IF-THEN rules that are combined via fuzzy reasoning for describing the features of a system under study. The method of fuzzy modeling has been proven to be well-suited for modeling nonlinear industrial processes described by input-output data. In view of the nonlinear characteristic of the QV curve, the method of fuzzy modeling is employed for representing the curve. Based on the Sugeno-type fuzzy model, various models with different numbers of modeling rules are used to describing the QV curve. It is found that such fuzzy model offers both quantitative and qualitative descriptions for the QV curve. © 2009 SICE.

An important problem in computer Architecture and Organization course is the migration from theory to practice. computer Architecture designs are developed to tackle this problem. This paper presents a learning activity designed to improve motivation towards learning computer architecture and organization subjects, mainly on ***10.1[1] micro computer architecture design. This software-based interactive system gives a visual presentation of all parts of such a micro computer architecture design;displays the states of registers;performs at the level of clock cycle, an instruction and complete program. So, when learning standard micro computer architecture subjects, students can understand executing a program instruction by instruction at the system level, where the microcomputer is considered as a black box. © 2011 Chamber of Turkish Electric.

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) [1] is adopted as the main signaling protocol for the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Large dep.oyment of SIP servers in Next Generation Networks (NGN) requires studying the behavior and performance of SIP servers under both normal and overload conditions, which may happen in such networks with a vast number of users. In this paper a measurement-based study is performed to assess SIP proxy server performance under different configurations, and for different underlying transport protocols, for both inter-domain and intra-domain calls. Test results show the effectiveness of configuration and distance on SIP signaling performance. Therefore a great attention must be paid during SIP servers dep.oyment. © 2009 IEEE.

In this paper, a uniform calculus-based approach for synthesizing monitors checking correctness properties specified by a large variety of logics at runtime is provided, including future and past time logics, interval logics, state machine and parameterized temporal logics. Thus we can synthesize monitors from the logical specification in an uniform fashion to incrementally analysis the current execution traces during test and real run. The monitor detects both good and bad prefix of a particular kind, namely those that are informative for the property under investigation. © 2010 IEEE.

The new field of testing of timed-IUT (Implementation Under Test with time constraints) is rapidly evolving, with new and extended test generation methods using timed automata. Most methods, however, key their algorithms towards transformation of a timed-IUT into a regular, un-timed IUT;thus, avoiding the need of redefining well known test generation algorithms. In this paper we wish to demonstrate that as far as the well known synchronizing sequence problem, it is preferable to adapt the standard algorithm to meet the special needs of a timed-IUT, sidestepping a costly transformation. We propose a new method of generating a timed- synchronizing sequence, which allows direct testing of a timed-IUT. An example is used to show the relevance of this method.

A new approach for feature selection is presented in this paper. The proposed approach uses the Harmony Search with a novel fitness function to eliminate noisy and irrelevant features. Harmony vectors contain real weights which refer to feature space. The best and significant features are selected according to a threshold. Fitness function of Harmony Search is based on the Area Under the receiver operating characteristics Curve (AUC). All of the selected features are employed to improve the classification of the k Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) classifier. Experimental results claim that the proposed method is able to improve the classification performance of k-NN algorithm in comparison with the other important methods in realm of feature selection such as BAHSIC, FSS, BSS and MFS. in recent years ERP, as a comprehensive new system, has been used by many Malaysian companies. It has been successful in some and in some others it has failed. This article assesses 15 success factors and 8 failure factors in SME companies and tries to recognize the effective ones. The results show that the two most important failure factors in implementing ERP in Malaysian SMEs are 'poor planning or poor management ' and 'inappropriate training methods' and the most important success factors are ' Implementing team's teamwork and composition' and ' Effective training of users'. It could be conducted that team work is a key success factor in Malaysian SMEs and also training is of vital importance. As a result, by a sound investment and effective trainings we may guarantee the success of ERP in SMEs in Malaysia, failure to do so will lead to a defeat for ERP in Malaysian setting. 2009 IEEE.

The form of compact city as an "urban form of sustainable development" is paid more and more attention. This paper proposes several systems of indicators based on the understanding of the connotation of compact city, including population density, land use, characteristics of road network, accessibility, residential density. It also analyzes the corresponding calculation methods. The authors develop an integrated ARCGIS tool, Compactness, built as an extension to the desktop ARCGIS software package, ARCMAP. Undertaking the study of a simulated city- NanLing City with use of the tool of Compactness analyzes the degree of urban compactness in the years of 2000 and 2005. In the end the paper concludes and prospects the measuring methods and the tool of Compactness with a discussion of the future development of urban compactness. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.

Investigating the human mobility patterns is a highly interesting field in the 21th century, and it takes vast attention from multi-disciplinary scientists in physics, economic, social, computer, engineering⋯etc. dep.nding on the concept that relates between human mobility patterns and their communications. Hence, the necessity for a rich repository of data has emerged. Therefore, the most powerful solution is the usage of GSM network data, which gives millions of Call Details Records gained from urban regions. However, the available data still have shortcomings, because it gives only the indication of spatio-temporal data at only the moment of mobile communication activities. In this chapter, Gama platform development environment of constructing spatially multi agent simulation is used for modeling and simulating the individual reconstructed trajectories. As a result, the individual trajectories revealed the human daily life patterns. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
