Greenhouses plays a major role in today's agriculture since farmers can grow plants under controlled climatic conditions and can optimize production. The greenhouses are usually built in areas where the climatic conditions for the growth of plants are not optimal so requires some artificial setups to bring about productivity. Automating process of a greenhouse requires monitoring and controlling of the climatic parameters. This paper is an attempt to minimize the cost of maintaining greenhouse environments using new technologies. The end goal of this research an automated system to optimally monitor and control the environmental factors inside greenhouse by monitoring temperature, soil moisture, humidity and pH through a cloud connected mobile robot which can detect unhealthy plants using image processing and machine learning. The mobile robot navigates through a predefined map of greenhouse. Database server has created to store gathered real-time data. And the necessary accurate data represent by using proper application for analyzing. © 2020 IEEE.

In the era of cloud computing, virtualization based fault tolerance that utilizes the continuous virtual machine (VM) migration to synchronize a VM and its remote replica is a common technique to achieve high availability. However, traditional live VM migration, whose goal is to minimize the system downtime, has a long duration owing to the expense of the pre-copy for machine status and memory content, which increases the period of failover when failures occur. In this paper, we proposed a new VM migration method, called Fast VM Migration (FVMM), which utilizes the templating technique to accelerate the VM migration by reducing the cost of pre-copy. The templating technique that creates VMs from a master copy, called a template, is a usually used to dep.oy many similar VMs in a large virtual environment. FVMM employs VM templating to mitigate the cost of pre-copy. Its implementation is optimized with six new techniques: SFVMM and LFVMM, COW templating, continuous templating, asynchronous transmission buffering, VM recovery from continuous templating, and templating regularly. We also applied FVMM for virtualization based fault tolerance to accelerate the failover process. Experimental results show that FVMM is more than 56 times faster than pre-copy live migration for a VM with 16GB, and can reduce upto 32% of the system downtime and the fault tolerance resynchronization time comparing to the methods using pre-copy live migration.

This paper aims to develop a photonic band gap substrate-based slot microstrip patch antenna for terahertz applications. The proposed antenna is based on an elliptical slotted patch placed on the top of a photonic crystal structure to improve the conventional microstrip patch antenna in terms of the undesirable surface waves and its electrical properties. As a result, good radiation characteristics are achieved. Besides, an enhancement of more than 35% and 91% are observed for a total bandwidth of 203.5 GHz and a realized gain of 9.1 dBi, respectively.

Generative AI, i.e., the group of technologies that automatically generate visual or written content based on text prompts, has undergone a leap in complexity and become widely available within just a few years. Such technologies potentially introduce a massive disruption to creative fields. This paper presents the results of a qualitative survey (N = 23) investigating how creative professionals think about generative AI. The results show that the advancement of these AI models prompts important reflections on what defines creativity and how creatives imagine using AI to support their workflows. Based on these reflections, we discuss how we might design participatory AI in the domain of creative expertise with the goal of empowering creative professionals in their present and future coexistence with AI. © 2023, CC BY.

This paper presents an approach for precision agriculture large scale applications based on the analysis of big data consisting in Satellite Image Time Series (SITS) acquired by ESA Sentinel-2 (S2) satellite constellation. The approach has been developed in the framework of the ESA SEOM - Scientific Exploitation of Operational Missions - S2-4Sci Land and Water project [1]. To focus only on agricultural areas, images are first filtered based on a land cover (LC) map that is generated by updating available old maps by means of recent images. Then S2 SITS are used to analyse agricultural areas. Two macro challenges are therefore considered: (i) automatic update of LC maps and generation of agricultural areas mask;and (ii) unsupervised multi-temporal (MT) fine characterization of land plots. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Personal computers and the Internet are used in different areas and are easier to use. Most data is easy to transmit and duplicate in digital format, and being tampered with and stolen easily leads to issues for content owners and service providers. The Paper describes a secure (tampering-resistant) method for watermarking images for protection and authentication and digital media like audio, video, and multimedia data, and a combination of singular value decomposition (SVD) and Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for insertion watermark by MATLAB to increase accuracy, simplicity, and flexibility Readability, secure robustness, and imperceptibility the visibility of the image. The proposed algorithm consists of three main steps: Firstly, we decomposed the original image into four sub-bands and the original watermark. Secondly, embed the watermark in the LL sub-band by replacing the singular value for the watermark. Finally, embed a watermark in the other three sub-bands by adding LL values for a watermark in each sub-band in the original image.

Сardiovascular diseases, also known as CVDs, currently rank as the primary incidence of mortality. The present approach for identifying illnesses involves the analysis of the Electrocardiogram (ECG), an electronic diagnostic device utilized to capture the rhythm of the heart. Regrettably, the process of seeking out specialists to conduct analysis on a substantial volume of electrocardiogram (ECG) data results in a significant dep.etion of medical capabilities. Hence, the utilization of deep learning algorithms for the identification of ECG characteristics has progressively gained prominence. Nevertheless, there exist certain limitations associated with these conventional approaches, which necessitate the need for manual characteristic identification, intricate models, and extensive training duration. This study presents a novel and effective approach for categorizing the five different types of heartbeats in the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database. The proposed method involves the utilization of a 16-layer deep one-dimensional convolutional neural network, which exhibits both robustness and efficiency in its classification performance. Thus, the designed model is consisting of five-groups, first to fourth groups are the main feature extraction and mapping blocks, while the fifth group is fully connected and classification layers. The findings indicate that the model presented in this study has superior performance in terms of accuracy, precision, and F1-score. The proper classification of medical cases has a significant impact on the conservation of medical resources, hence positively influencing clinical practice. Additionally, the model training phase is characterized by its efficiency, since it does not significantly dep.ete resources.

This work deals with the design and development of a non invasive though rather effective solution to detect carious lesions. The main aim of the study is to develop a simple automatic approach for the assessment of the tooth demineralization, which represents the earlier stage of the dynamic carious process, by means of impedance spectroscopy. In particular, impedance measurements were carried out on 50 extracted human teeth. Teeth were demineralized in-vitro according to a validated protocol; then, a morphological analysis of the tooth surface was performed by scanning electron microscopy to confirm enamel demineralization. The proposed approach tries to take advantage of the change of impedance phase due to the demineralization process. Data analysis confirmed that the best frequency for discriminating between demineralized and non-demineralized teeth is about 15 Hz, and this parameter can be used for building up an automatic classifier based on Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) topology. Impedance data were processed by using a modified single neuron, which allows classifying demineralized and sound teeth with an error rate of about 7%, estimating therefore the presence of carious lesions in progress. The presented work can be considered as a feasibility study with a final goal to conceive a simple and low-cost measurement system to identify caries at an early stage

Vehicles capable of operating in more than one environment have been developed to solve real problems. Among them, the hybrid unmanned aerial-underwater vehicle (HUAUV) is receiving attention from the robotics community, mainly with a quadrotor-like configuration. However, this vehicle presents high energy consumption because of the larger mass required compared to the only aerial vehicle, limiting its autonomy. This work addresses the trajectory planning problem for a HUAUV. The method is based on Rapidly-exploring Random Trees (RRTs), a highly customizable planning technique. In addition, we propose two new heuristics to increase the energy efficiency of the hybrid vehicle. The first consists of biasing the tree expansion towards the environment with the lowest navigation cost, while the second one assigns estimated costs to nodes in the tree and chooses the least expensive trajectories. These techniques are evaluated in physically realistic simulation experiments performed in 135 scenarios. A comparative analysis of their performances is presented relative to the state of the art. We show that using efficient heuristics can significantly contribute to reducing energy consumption and even increase the average velocity in the missions performed by these vehicles.

Recently, cloud computers are widely used due to the development of computing environment and network speed. Unikernel is considered to be an attractive operating system in the manycore environment that effectively provides cloud computers. HalVM is a unikernel coded in Haskell. In this paper, we analyze the performance of Haskell running in a unikernel, which has shown good parallel programming performance in a manycore environment. In this paper, we analyze the performance of Haskell running in a unikernel, while Haskell has shown good performance in a manycore environment. To do this, we select HaLVM as the target operating system and analyze the performance by testing various Haskell parallel programming models. Test result shows that HaLVM is scalable only on IVC. We also implement a library to make programming with IVC more convenient, and use this library to compare extensibility experiments. Our test shows HaLVM's scalability is 112.42% higher than Linux environment. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
