Toward HAZOP 4.0 Approach for Managing the Complexities of the Hazard and Operability of an Industrial Polymerization Reactor

Conventional HAZOP is a collaborative and multidisciplinary activity to identify the hazards associated to operability of the chemical processes. Then the consequences and required safeguards of each potential deviation or failure are assessed qualitatively one by one. It is performed with the assumption of "one failure at the time" for the process parameters. Furthermore, process complexities such as multiple failures, domino effects, time and amplitude dep.ndent deviations etc. are avoided to keep the HAZOP brainstorming sessions systematic and effective. Therefore, the quality and outcomes of HAZOP study are relatively subjective and dep.nd on the experience and competency of the HAZOP team. This simplified approach cannot fully cover the hazard identification and risk assessment of the complex processes such as polymerization. Furthermore, the incident investigations show that almost all major accidents have occurred due to multiple failures or domino effects. This paper aims at developing a practical methodology in the context of "Industry 4.0" and particularly illustrate how dynamic simulation liberates the HAZOP team from the simplification assumptions such as one failure at the time or neglecting the domino effects during the lifecycle of the complex processes. An industrial styrene bulk free radical polymerization process has been chosen as the case study to dep.ct the applicability of the proposed method. In continuation of this research, the dynamic simulation integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and Multivariable Process Monitoring (MPM) together with virtual collaboration tools will be invoked towards a more practical and effective HAZOP 4.0 platform. Such a platform can be the foundation of the further Process Safety Management (PSM) elements such as "Operating manuals", "Training and Competency management", "Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance", "Management of Change", "Pre-Start-up Safety Review", etc.

The synthesis of a single-channel broadband device for receiving and primary processing of radio signals that employs the pulse compression technique is presented given the case where its input signals are received in conditions of their structural-parametric a priori uncertainty. The synthesis was carried out based on the mathematical apparatus of the theory of statistical decisions and on the discrete signal representation in the time-frequency domain. The results of prototyping and experimental studies concerning the receiver that was synthesized in accordance with the structural-functional diagram on the basis of spectrum analyzer with pulse compression technique (SAPCT) are briefly presented. An experiment is described that allowed us to verify the possibilities of obtaining the Fourier transform with regard to the elements of input signals, as well as possibilities of detecting and measuring the frequency-time parameters of these signals. These parameters allow us to figure out the structure and characteristics of input signal bursts [6].

In this paper, we are going to verify the possibility to create a ransomware simulation that will use an arbitrary combination of known tactics and techniques to bypass an anti-malware defense. To verify this hypothesis, we conducted an experiment in which an agent was trained with the help of reinforcement learning to run the ransomware simulator in a way that can bypass anti-ransomware solution and encrypt the target files. The novelty of the proposed method lies in applying reinforcement learning to anti-ransomware testing that may help to identify weaknesses in the anti-ransomware defense and fix them before a real attack happens.

The issue tracking system (ITS) is a rich data source for data-driven decision-making. Different characteristics of bugs, such as severity, priority, and time to fix, provide a clear picture of an ITS. Nevertheless, such information may be misleading. For example, the exact time and the effort spent on a bug might be significantly different from the actual reporting time and the fixing time. Similarly, these values may be subjective, e.g., severity and priority values are assigned based on the intuition of a user or a developer rather than a structured and well-defined procedure. Hence, we explore the evolution of the bug dep.ndency graph together with priority and severity levels to explore the actual triage process. Inspired by the idea of the "Wayback Machine" for the World Wide Web, we aim to reconstruct the historical decisions made in the ITS. Therefore, any bug prioritization or bug triage algorithms/scenarios can be applied in the same environment using our proposed ITS Wayback Machine. More importantly, we track the evolutionary metrics in the ITS when a custom triage/prioritization strategy is employed. We test the efficiency of the proposed algorithm using data extracted from three open-source projects. Our empirical study sheds light on the overlooked evolutionary metrics - e.g., overdue bugs and developers' loads - which are facilitated via our proposed past-event re-generator. Currently, functional electrical stimulation is used as the most widely used rehabilitation therapy in intelligent medical treatment of stroke patients' limb rehabilitation. There are three methods for tracking optimization of FES rehabilitation therapy using MEMS inertial measurement units: based on Kalman filter algorithm, using quaternion fusion algorithm and establishing sensor information fusion algorithm, but there are existing, calibration needs to be performed in the early stage, inertial measurement unit Must be placed parallel to the arm, noise is prone to data drift and other issues. To solve the problem of the previous calibration of the sensor and the need to place the sensor according to the reference, and to improve the accuracy of the data, we propose a motion tracking model based on free placement to track the upper limb movement trajectory. The input data of the model is the sensor's triaxial acceleration data. The output data is angle change data, which avoids the process of pre-calibration and improves the accuracy of the data through the angle segmentation model. Four sets of comparative experiments show that this method effectively reduces the influence of the sensor position on the data, improves the data accuracy, and has higher accuracy and use value. © 2020 IEEE.

Forecast models of solar radiation incorporating cloud effects are useful tools to evaluate the impact of stochastic behaviour of cloud movement, real-time integration of photovoltaic energy in power grids, skin cancer and eye disease risk minimisation through solar ultraviolet (UV) index prediction and bio-photosynthetic processes through the modelling of solar photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD). This research has developed deep learning hybrid model (i.e., CNN-LSTM) to factor in role of cloud effects integrating the merits of convolutional neural networks with long short-term memory networks to forecast near real-time (i.e., 5-minute) PPFD in a sub-tropical region Queensland, Australia. The prescribed CLSTM model is trained with real-time sky images that dep.ct stochastic cloud movements captured through a Total Sky Imager (TSI-440) utilising advanced sky image segmentation to reveal cloud chromatic features into their statistical values, and to purposely factor in the cloud variation to optimise the CLSTM model. The model, with its competing algorithms (i.e., CNN, LSTM, deep neural network, extreme learning machine and multivariate adaptive regression spline), are trained with 17 distinct cloud cover inputs considering the chromaticity of red, blue, thin, and opaque cloud statistics, supplemented by solar zenith angle (SZA) to predict short-term PPFD. The models developed with cloud inputs yield accurate results, outperforming the SZA-based models while the best testing performance is recorded by the objective method (i.e., CLSTM) tested over a 7-day measurement period. Specifically, CLSTM yields a testing performance with correlation coefficient r = 0.92, root mean square error RMSE = 210.31 μ mol of photons m-2 s-1, mean absolute error MAE = 150.24 μ mol of photons m-2 s-1, including a relative error of RRMSE = 24.92% MAPE = 38.01%, and Nash Sutcliffe’s coefficient ENS = 0.85, and Legate & McCabe’s Index LM = 0.68 using cloud cover in addition to the SZA

The term Steganography refers to the science that deals with hiding the secret messages (text or anything else) inside an original cover file of the text, audio, video or image. The need for modern methods is to keep the secret information and protected it with the increasing danger of outside hackers. Steganography seems to be a good option to increase information security by hiding them. This paper is a review of the past year's methods used in audio steganography. Audio steganography is a method to hide a secret message (sound or anything else) in an audio cover file, in varied ways. It is a proposal for future actions. These methods used different types of digital audio such as WAV, MP3 or AU. The result showed that most of the studies used LSB to embed secret messages, but with other encryption-system for strength LSB family. Others Modified LSB to produce an enhanced method. In general, most studies concentrate on common methods or their combination to develop new efficient methods. Most of the studies had a lack in all or some measures of invisibility and robustness. This concept came after authors' interesting in cryptography more than steganography. This study recommended maintaining all measures to enable future studies to determine which steganography method is most effective. © 2019 IEEE.

The quadcopter is an advanced intelligent type of helicopter with four rotors; Qc is despite its intelligence and the complexity of its electronic parts, it is distinguished by the simplicity of the structure and its symmetry, and the four sides are equal in size, weight, and power of the motors. At present, the design of the quadcopter has diversified into a structure that takes the shape of a plus sign, others take a structure shaped like a letter H or hybrid H, and one that is the most common that takes the letter X, which we will work on. The most susceptible portion of the quadcopter to failure is the arms because they are sensitive to multiple types of stress, including fracture due to collision or fall and failure due to overloading. The goal of this study is to improve the design of the quadruple arm so that it can reliably lift heavy loads. The quad frame was designed with a size of 60 cm and a weight of 2 kg. eight structures of the same material (PLA), the same size wheelbase and the same weight, but in different arm shapes, these frames designed and analyzed statically by the SolidWorks Simulation to find the stresses, deformations, and areas of weakness in each arms separately, assuming the same power of motors and the same size of the propeller (lifting force) and the gravity force. The results showed that the bearing strength of the arm dep.nds on the shape of the cross-sectional area along the length of the arm according to the laws of bending stress.

This study presents a Hamiltonian control law for constant current - constant voltage (CC-CV) inductive wireless charging. The novel control system design, simulation, and experimentation aimed to confirm the Hamiltonian controller is a superior choice. The wireless charging experiments tested the step-resistant battery simulator and the EV battery. Based on the findings, it is possible to run the Hamiltonian control law for continuous 10A and 82 V charging while maintaining optimal response, stability, and realization. The charging system's maximum efficiency and power were 76.5% and 782 W.

In this paper, an electronic instrument was developed that can detect electrical energy without using the conventional probes. The proposed system can detect the AC and DC voltage via wireless detector. The circuit design is based on the theory of an electronic circuit consisting of Darlington transistors that have a high gain, and a copper strip (or wire) is used as a probe. It is primarily concerned with the development of an electronic circuit for the safe handling of hazardous electrical, radiation and chemical substances. Furthermore, the proposed system offers multipurpose services such as short circuit prevention and troubleshooting as well as cable disconnection prevention. It also utilizes hazardous sensor services for any leakage voltages and currents since only DC voltages are used in the circuit design. The design is considered "green innovation" due to the fact that a DC voltage source is used rather than AC or high voltage. Intelligently designed and selection practices make efficient use of resources and minimize energy consumption by creating efficient environments. System analysis has been conducted using Python software since this language offers flexibility, and is simple to use.
