We present an automatic camera and mirrors placement method for visualizing 3D scenes such that complete and nonredundant visibility is guaranteed, as well as highest image resolution. We provide algorithms and geometries for optimal object-indep.ndent mirrors and viewpoint placement for all objects in a specific class. We consider a type of recurrence equations called "Simple Indexed Recurrences" (SIR) wherein ordinary recurrences of the form X[i] = opi(X[i -1], X[i]) (i = 1. n) are extended to X[g(i)]=opi(X[f(i)], X[g(i)]) such that opi is an associative binary operation, f,g : {l.n}→ {l.m} and g is distinct. This extends our capabilties for parallelizing loops of the form: for i = 1 to n { X[i] = opi(X[i - l],X[i]) } to the form: for i = 1 to n { X[g(i)] = opi(X[f(i)],X[g(i)}) }. An efficient solution is presented for the special case where we know how to compute the inverse of opi operator. The algorithm requires 0(log n) steps with 0(n/logn) processors. It is well documented that the rate-limiting step of pharmaceutical investigation is the amount of drug absorbed through the epithelial cells, not the total dose taken. To date, the only measure of the effective dose of medication is by measuring the circulating level of the ingested medication. This mode of measurement is neither accurate nor practical in determining the active ingredient required. However, a more efficient method of testing which constitutes simplicity and practically is desired. The aim of this project was the design of a microcomputer-based system for detecting and quantifying steroid hormones taken up by mucosal intestinal cells in vitro, for eventual in vivo application in animals and humans. A microcomputer-based system capable of controlling and monitoring four cell membranes simultaneously has been designed, consisting of a microcomputer system and a data acquisition subsystem. The data acquisition subsystem consists of instrumentation amplifiers with an analog-to-digital converter and digital-to-analog converter. This subsystem converts the ionic exchanges first to electrical signals, and then to digital format, to be processed and stored by the microcomputer. Subsequently, the stored information can be clinically interpreted. Due to the complexity of membrane behavior (nonlinear) in response to feedback control signals, software development was difficult. Therefore, a unique scheme was developed to control various unexcitable tissues in order to reach the predetermined values very rapidly, and then to collect cell membrane data periodically.

In response to several initiatives from national agricultural leadership to review and modify curriculum, a national curriculum for forage instruction is being developed. Through funding from the USDA Challenge Grants Program, the National Forage and Grassland Curriculum (NF&GC) is presented on the World Wide Web (WWW) to provide instructors of forage production and related courses a scope and sequence, content materials, WWW links, and teaching methodology and strategies. The NF&GC is unique in two ways: (i) it utilizes a number of nationally known topic matter experts working collaboratively with educational designers and technology specialists to present current scientific material in an educationally sound form, and (ii) it utilizes the best traits of WWW format while presenting more than just a WWW class. Although interested learners can take the course on the WWW, it is designed to help science instructors become more proficient as teachers by providing educational methodologies and strategies, an abundance of materials and resources, and connections to national experts. The objective of supplying content and teacher training is ambitious. Obstacles were expected but have been overshadowed by benefits. The purpose of this article is to share our experiences in the design and implementation of a collaborative WWW development project.
