The catalytic packing is the core component of the catalytic distillation,and how the catalyst exists in the packing has significant influence on the *** investigate the effect of catalyst packings on the catalytic distillation process,the classical ethyl acetate reactive distillation system was utilized,and a supported catalytic packing(SCP)was prepared in comparison with the conventional tea-bag catalytic packing(TBP).Laboratory scale experiments showed that the ethyl acetate conversion of the SCP was superior to the TBP at a low catalyst *** effects of reaction kinetics,mass transfer performance and actual catalytic efficiency of the packings on this process were regarded as reasons and studied by combining the experiments and numerical *** suggested that the relatively immediate“in-situ separation”caused by the rapid reaction kinetics and better mass transfer performance of SCP may be a main reason for the difference of the conversion.

The “Asean Factori 4.0” project under Erasmus+ programme CBHE supported the PLC training and benchmark to the Center of Excellence in Intelligent controlautomation of process Systems (ICAPS) at Chulalongkorn University (CU). Various PLC projects including PID-type feedback control loop that would be utilized as an in-class tool to enhance understanding of PID principle and effects of tuning parameters on the process was programmed using the CODESYS software with Visualization. The PLC projects were executed on the PLC benchmark with visualization on an HMI display designed by the GALILEO software. The curriculum modification to include Industry 4.0 (I4.0) and PLC as well as conducting seminars on PLC by ICAPS guarantees sustainability of the “Asean Factori 4.0” project.

This study investigates the optimization of ring frame parameters, particularly focusing on the effects of spacer size on yarn quality-specifically strength, evenness, imperfections, and hairiness. Additionally, a novel AI-Driven Adaptive Spacer Adjustment System is introduced, which dynamically adjusts spacer size during the spinning process based on real-time sensor data. This combined analysis includes trials on 40 Ne and 60 Ne yarn counts with six different spacer sizes (2.75 mm to 4 mm) and an evaluation of machine efficiency improvements for 9 combed wool and 24 carded counts. The AI system uses a combination of optical sensors, reinforcement learning (PPO), support vector regression (SVR), and convolutional neural networks (CNN) to continuously monitor and optimize yarn quality and process efficiency. The results show significant improvements in yarn quality and productivity through both conventional spacer size optimization and the integration of AI-driven automation. The AI system offers real-time adjustments that enhance yarn quality and reduce production inefficiencies. This research provides a transformative approach to spinning process optimization by combining cutting-edge AI technology with traditional manufacturing techniques.
