Paper presents the results of experiments for evaluation of working efficiency of developed underwater acoustic modems in conditions of real aquatic areas along with the confirmation of its applicability for implementation of AUV group navigation. For the verification of obtained results surface vehicle was equipped with precise satellite navigation system DGPS mounted coaxially with the underwater acoustic modem.

Change detection is an ongoing hot topic in multi-spectral imagery applications,how to exploit the available spectral information effectively for change detection is still an open *** the noise interference and redundancy of multi-spectral imagery,it is important and necessary to learn more abstract and robust feature from raw spectrums for change detection *** this paper,a deep difference representation learning model is proposed for multi-spectral change *** this model,two stacked denoising autoencoders are established,one for learning more abstract features from raw spectrums blocks,and the other for learning difference representations from the stacked change *** former is used to weaken noise interference and reduce redundancy,while the latter has the ability to highlight changes and suppress unchanged *** experimental results on real multi-spectral data demonstrate the feasibility,effectiveness and robustness of the proposed deep difference representation learning model on multi-spectral change detection task.

In this paper, a modular sensor system for recording pressure distribution, 3D-acceleration, 3D-angular velocity, temperature and humidity in a shoe insole is presented. The intelligent sensor-insole is a measurement system that can be used in medical and sport related fields. Integrated sensors record physical parameters such as acceleration and or pressure which can also be used to trigger an additional feedback system. Through intelligent and high performant electronics, the feedback system is able to operate in real time. The combination of individually miniaturized systems, wireless data transmissions and a rechargeable battery enables the system for a wide field of application such as fall prevention, training analysis and motion optimization. Robust and miniaturized hardware components as well as wireless communication technology enable real-time processing of data. Measurement data can be stored locally on the measurement device for post analysis, as well as visualized on connected mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. Aiming at using the system as a mobile and easy-to-use lab, both under laboratory conditions and in field. Applications like gait- and running analysis outside the laboratory, fall detection and activity monitoring in a home environment are possible. Due to the high performance of the system, the data pre-processing can be performed on the embedded system. Because the system supports wireless connections, it is possible to combine several of the systems to build a sensor network. Furthermore, it is possible to transmit the collected data to a cloud. The system will provide the measured data in different levels of complexity. For instance, the system is able to evaluate the data automatically and provide the results to experts such as physicians and coaches.

Microelectronics have developed very fast in the past. The design process of those systems is getting more and more complex and new design methods have to be applied continuously. One main observation is the increasing design level over time, hence, the re-use of components is getting more important. A key challenge of IC design is the selection of a system architecture which fulfills all requirements in terms of data throughput, area, timing, power and cost. We present a problem class for the optimal component selection in order to assist in selecting the best available alternatives. We will show how to express top-level constraints and optimisation targets including dependencies between components. In addition, heuristic solving algorithms will be presented. The evaluation section shows that the presented algorithms perform well on typical problem sets. Using a framework for evolutionary algorithms results in additional speedup. © 2015 Springer International Publishing.

In order to take good advantage of polysilicon nanofilm, optimized technical characteristics of the polysilicon nanofilm are very necessary to investigated. In this paper, the polysilicon nanofilms were prepared under different technical parameters, including thickness and doping concentration, which are very important for preparation of the nanofilm. The experimental results of piezoresistive and temperature characteristics show that the optimized technical characteristics are followed, the thickness is about 90nm, and the doping concentration is about 4.1×1019cm-3 or between 2.0×1020cm-3 and 4.1×1020cm-3 from different point of view. The investigations of optimized technical characteristics are very useful for application of the polysilicon nanofilm to piezoresistive sensor. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In this paper we present a test lab for the reliability evaluation of power distribution units. The presence of a dependable power distribution network is a fundamental prerequisite in the context of datacenter reliability. In addition to uninterruptable power supplies or transfer switches intelligent power distribution units are one of the critical components in the backend power path. Our mission is to investigate and test different PDU implementations with respect to their reliability as a trade-off between effectiveness and self energy consumption. © 2013 IEEE.

The polycrystalline silicon films with same doping concentration and different thickness were prepared by low pressure chemical vapor deposition. The gauge factors of the films samples were tested, the results show that the piezoresistive properties of nano polycrystalline silicon film (NPSF) exceed that of common polycrystalline silicon film (CPSF). To apply the NPSF to MEMS piezoresistive device effectively, the Young's modulus of the NPSF were tested by in-situ nano mechanical test system, the results show that the Young's modulus of the NPSF is about between 155GPa and 158GPa. It is very useful to investigate the piezoresistive and mechanics properties of NPSF, the results show that NPSF is a suitable material in MEMS piezoresistive device. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper presents an approach to the problem of localization in wireless sensor networks. For many applications, it is essential to know the absolute position of the network nodes. Due to the large number of nodes, it is not practicable assigning coordinates manually or equipping many or all nodes with GPS receivers. In our approach only a few anchor nodes with known position are used. The unknown nodes obtain their position by evaluating average hop distances between anchors and received signal strength. The proposed algorithm is centralized and based on a spring model. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper describes a monolithic integrated single-chip transceiver intended for impulse radio (IR) - Ultra-wide Band (UWB) applications compliant to the IEEE 802.15.4a standard. The transceiver operates in the higher UWB band on the mandatory channel #9 (7.9872 GHz). The implemented nominal data rate is 850 kb/sec. The presented chip consists of the entire RF-front-end, 6-bit-resolution successive approximation register (SAR) analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), and the baseband processor running with a clock of 31.2 MHz. The analogue frontend can be further segmented into a pulse generation and transmit part and a quadrature direct down conversion receiver part, whereas both parts share a frequency synthesizer based on an integer-N phase-locked loop (PLL). The impulse generation is based on the gated oscillator principle allowing required on-off keying (OOK) as well as binary phase shift keying (BPSK). While the receiver supports both, coherent and non-coherent impulse detection, here only non-coherent operation will be presented. The baseband processor part contains a separated 499.2 MHz clocked block for transmitter control and provides a serial peripheral interface (SPI) for data exchange with an external micro controller. The presented chip was fabricated in a 0.25 μm SiGe:C BiCMOS technology occupying a Si area of 3.25 - 3.25 mm 2 .

A subharmonic receiver for sensing applications in the 245 GHz ISM band has been proposed. The receiver consists of a single-ended common base LNA, a 60 GHz push-push VCO with 1/32 divider, a transconductance 4 th subharmonic mixer and IF amplifier. The receiver is fabricated in f T /f max =300/500 GHz SiGe: C BiCMOS technology. Its measured single-ended gain is 21 dB at 243 GHz with tuning range of 12 GHz, and the single-side band noise figure is 32 dB. The input 1-dB compression point is at -37 dBm. The receiver dissipates a power of 358 mW.
