Nowadays, data science projects are usually developed in an unstructured way, which makes it difficult to reproduce. It is also hard to move from an experimental environment to production. Operational workflows such as containerization, continuous deployment, and cloud orchestration allow data science researchers to move a pipeline from a local environment to the cloud. Being aware of the difficulties of setting those workflows up, this paper presents a framework to ease experiment tracking and operationalizing machine learning by combining existent and well-supported technologies. These technologies include Docker, Mlflow, Ray, among others. The framework provides an opinionated workflow to design and execute experiments either on a local environment or the cloud. ml-experiment includes: an automatic tracking system for the most famous machine learning libraries: Tensorflow, Keras, Fastai, Xgboost and Lightgdm, first-class support for distributed training and hyperparameter optimization, and a Command Line Interface (CLI) for packaging and running projects inside containers. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In recent times, technological advancement brings many benefits for people and facial recognition technology is one of them. Nowadays, S martphone users increasingly use facial recognition features that help in verifying identity of users for different purposes, for example, accessing their device before making any payment from their phones. This study paper has analysed impact of facial recognition systems in S martphone sectors by discussing its advantages and challenges to understand both its negative and positive impact. Literature review section has provided relevant information on selected topic as it has elaborated that different large organisation have their own face recognition software for Apple, Facebook, and Google. Additionally, it has mentioned that there are two different types of facial recognition software such as camera-based and infrared;however, regarding effectiveness, infrared works more appropriate rather than camera-based recognition technologies. The paper has also elaborated that this technology offers automating time-tracking systems and it has touch less sign options, which help them in limiting physical contact with others. Result of this study showed that facial recognition helps to protect any type of unauthorised access in a Smartphone as well as it could prevent cyber threats by recognising face of S martphone users. Additionally, due to this software's fast identification feature, it could successfully verify faces of people within a few seconds. However, as this software is based on artificial intelligence, unlike other applications, it is highly vulnerable as hackers can hack Smartphones if strong algorithms are more used. Lastly, to prevent this issue a strong AI infrastructure and model security is required in future. © 2022 IEEE.

Collaborative action in disaster mitigation efforts contributes to knowledge and experience sharing, resource sharing, improvement of response and coordination, and standardization of good practice. In this study, we propose a workshop model and develop a virtual collaboration tool to support and promote cross-community knowledge sharing and collaboration focusing on disaster mitigation efforts. The workshop model involves pre-fieldwork training, actual fieldwork, and post-fieldwork information exchange. The collaboration tool enables information collection, sharing and record keeping. The effectiveness of the workshop model and the collaboration tool is demonstrated through use in a citizen participatory disaster preparedness workshops linking two elementary schools located in the central and southern regions of Japan.

This one-day hybrid workshop builds on previous feminist CSCW workshops to explore feminist theoretical and methodological approaches that have provided us with useful tools to see things differently and make space for change. Since its inception over a decade ago, feminist HCI has progressed from the margins to mainstream HCI, with numerous references in the literature. Feminist HCI has also evolved to incorporate other critical HCI practices such as Queer HCI, participatory design, and speculative design. While feminist approaches have grown in popularity and become mainstream, it is getting more difficult to distinguish the feminist emancipatory core from other attempts of developing and improving society in various ways. In this workshop, we therefore want to revisit our feminist roots, where theory is a liberatory and creative practice, motivated by affect, curiosity, and wonder. From this standpoint, we consider which of our feminist tools can make a significant difference today, in a highly datafied world. The goal of this workshop is to;1) create an inventory of feminist theories and concepts that have had an impact on our work as designers, educators, researchers, and activists;2) develop a feminist toolbox for the CSCW community to strengthen our feminist literacy. © 2023 Owner/Author.

Accurate disease diagnosis in grape leaf analysis is heavily reliant on high-resolution (HR) images. To meet this need, we propose a model that incorporates the Enhanced Attention Block (EAB) to generate HR images for improved disease detection. The EAB employs advanced attention mechanisms and residual learning to effectively capture critical, spatial and channel-wise relationships. Proposed model is assessed using PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and SSIM (Structural Similarity Index) metrics, yielding PSNR scores of 31. 902dB, 32.785dB, and 34. 853dB, and SSIM score of 0.8709, 0.9058, and 97.46 for factors 2,4 and 6 respectively. This proposed approach holds great potential for widespread implementation in disease detection across various plant species, allowing for timely and accurate interventions for plant health management and increasing industry productivity.

A decomposition of unit test generation task for symbolic execution has been considered. The process has been divided into the subtasks: code parsing, paths generation, path analysis, constraints analysis and test generation. The code parsing and path generation time have been investigated. The dependency between time and input size is close to be linear on code parsing and test path generation. It has been shown that path generation takes almost three times larger time than code parsing. The results will be used for load-balancing of unit test generators based on symbolic execution. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper, a low-cost method of 3D printed all-metal waveguide effective conductivity improvement is proposed and studied. The approach is a combination of internal surface polishing to reduce the roughness followed by coating a high-conductivity layer through electroplating. Both methods allow to reduce total power losses within the waveguide which are impacted by the conductivity of the metal. A set of mm-wave test vehicles was developed in WR-28 geometry (26.5 GHz to 40 GHz) being a straight and twisted transmission line section along with a narrowband filter to experimentally validate the approach. The models were 3D printed using Powder Bed Fusion out of stainless-steel powder, dry polished using glass microbeads, and then coated with copper. Up to 40% power loss reduction was obtained with respect to raw prints proving the performance of the approach.

Sustainable transportation has become an important consideration for countries seeking to reduce carbon emissions. Electric vehicles (EVs) are seen as a cornerstone of the transformation toward sustainability within the transportation sector;however, research on large-scale EVs' implementation to aid carbon emission reduction is sparse. Doubts have been raised concerning the effectiveness of EVs in satisfying sustainability in all of its dimensions: economic, social and environmental. Since achieving balanced sustainability requires an understanding of end-users' requirements, a mixed-methods empirical study surveyed end-users' perceptions of the desirable characteristics of EVs, using Saudi Arabia as a case study. Data gathered from 1012 respondents were analyzed to examine and rank their preferences, allowing the identification of a set of key features likely to influence Saudi citizens' utilization of EVs. Quantitative findings indicate that the features perceived as most significant were availability of charging stations and EV travelling distance. Other features which are also found important include aesthetics, maintenance costs, and charging cost, whereas end-users had low concern for branding and resale value. Thematic analysis of qualitative data shows that the most significant themes were security, localization of the EVs industry, charging energy sources, and self-driving. These results may serve as a framework to replicate the study in other countries, taking relevant inherent factors into account. © 2021 IEEE.

The ecological environment of human-centered habitats, cities, is gradually emphasized that the idea of sustainable development is proposed to stress on the integration of development and conservation. Besides, under current resource-applied environment, long-term management of resources is planned and used for preventing resources from shortage. Current development of urban central areas is about saturated, and the rapid expansion of urban fringe is about out of control. Effective recovery of urban landscape ecological structure and function as well as retention, restoration, and regeneration of urban natural environment to balance urban ecosystem and natural ecosystem are primary issues to improve urban environmental quality. Aiming at residents in Kaohsiung City, as the questionnaire objects, 360 copies of questionnaire are distributed as the research samples, and 294 valid copies are retrieved, with the retrieval rate 82%. The research results show *** ecology as the most emphasized dimension in the evaluation of urban matrix environment from the perspective of ecological design, and *** five mostly emphasized indicators, among 20, are green coverage ratio, provision of learning opportunities, diversity of plant species, recoverable materials, and participation ways. According to the results to propose the conclusion. It is expected to dig out specific opportunities for the sustainable use and development of urban matrix and to develop a complete and systematic landscape ecological network, with the combination with other landscape elements, to promote urban ecological quality. © 2022 IEEE.
