The evolution of wireless communication is poised for a major shift with the transition from 5G to 6G, a leap characterized by breakthroughs in speed, ultra-reliable low-latency communication, and AI-driven network optimization. This paper examines these advancements, focusing on sub-millisecond latency, terahertz spectrum utilization, and enhanced network capabilities tailored to industries such as smart infrastructure, healthcare, and autonomous vehicles. While 6G promises revolutionary improvements, it also presents new challenges, including increased computational complexity and energy demands, data privacy concerns, and efficient spectrum allocation. The proposed model aims to address these issues by integrating AI and machine learning for optimized resource management, resulting in a high-performance, cost-effective solution for real-time, data-intensive applications. To assess the model's effectiveness, comprehensive simulations and real-world trials will be conducted, measuring critical metrics such as network throughput, latency, reliability, and energy efficiency. This study offers an all-encompassing guide to understanding and harnessing the transformative potential of 6G technology, laying the groundwork for future wireless communication systems.

Methods for pitch analysis in contemporary popular music: highlighting pitch uncertainty in Primaal’s commercial works

We identify characteristic features of how pitch is manipulated for expressive purposes by Hyper Music, a mainstream commercial music company specialising in advertisement music for global corporations. The study shows that the use and organisation of pitch in the company’s ‘Primaal’ brand differs from Western classical music. Through interviews with producers and in-depth analysis of their work, we reveal that their methods centre on a conscious aim to construct a musical discourse based on pitch uncertainty, contrasting with the clear transmission of well-defined pitches in Western classical traditions. According to the Primaal producers, who acknowledge the influence of artists such as Kanye West and Daft Punk and use widely available technology, pitch uncertainty captures the listener’s attention. We provide analyses of musical excerpts demonstrating their approach, alongside descriptions of the tools and methods employed to achieve their expressive goals. These goals and methods are placed in a broader historical context, contrasting with fundamental principles of pitch organisation in Western music. Techniques used by Hyper Music to introduce and control pitch uncertainty include boosting upper partials, expressive use of inharmonicity, continuous pitch distributions around ‘poles’ tied to specific ‘modes’, and continuously evolving pitch. We examine these techniques from a psychoacoustic perspective, and conduct listening tests corroborating some of the observations. Using Mobile Sinks in WSN: Computational Complexity and a Theoretical Bound

In this paper, we study the lifetime optimization problem in wireless sensor networks using mobile sink nodes. This problem is inherently difficult since we need to consider both sink scheduling and data routing. Through a simple case study we develop a novel notation named the Placement pattern (PP) to bound traffic patterns with candidate locations. This significantly decreases the number of elements needed to be scheduled. Based on the PP, we mathematically formulate this optimization problem as a Mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP), which is very tough and time consuming to solve. By proving that the problem is NP-complete, we point out that instead of seeking an optimal algorithm, heuristic algorithms, especially those with performance guarantee, would be much more desirable to develop. Furthermore, in order to help identify performance gains of heuristic algorithms proposed in the future, we develop a Linear programming (LP) formulation which serves as an upper bound by adopting a reformulation and relaxation technique.

One challenging issue in daily solar radiation classification involves addressing the geometric differences in daily solar radiation patterns caused by geographic location and seasonal influences. A standardization method based on matrix transformation has been proposed to eliminate the daily geometric variations of solar radiation using classification for daily patterns of solar radiation. This method was tested using measurements taken at the Tokyo monitoring station from 2000 to 2021. Through the implementation of the proposed classification algorithm, this paper discerned twelve categories of daily clearness index distributions. This paper presents a novel method for detecting defects in printed circuit boards (PCBs) using an ensemble of classifiers based on the Choquet fuzzy integral. Our approach employs convolutional neural network (CNN) models, specifically ResNet152, VGG19, and InceptionV3 as base classifiers to identify six types of PCB defects: spurs, mouse bites, short circuits, open circuits, spurious copper, and pinholes. Given the critical role of PCBs in ensuring electronic equipment reliability, effective defect detection methods like ours are essential. We employ pre-trained CNN models for feature extraction and classification of PCB defects. Following this, we combine the prediction scores using the Choquet fuzzy integral to derive more accurate final labels, exceeding the accuracy of standalone models. Our approach is tested on PCB images obtained from public repositories, captured using a linear scan CCD. The evaluation results demonstrate average precision, recall, F-score, and accuracy of 93.0%, 95.2%, 95.1%, and 95.1%, respectively.

Generally, for the buildings constructed in our areas, the conventional foundation known as 'shallow', i.e. from the ground level downwards, is set up in three dimensions such as length, width and depth. Foundations are not the same for all types of structures. The size and structure of the foundation varies depending on the nature of the prevailing soil, ground water level of the plot, type of building, and total load of the structure. In this paper an innovation estimation model was proposed based on light weigth deep learning technique. The proposed model introduces capacity estimation and energy efficiency plans and designs. These are all relating to commercial buildings, craft facilities and mass housing projects to enable design, construction. It also maintains the buildings under minimum energy consumption without stressing the operation of buildings. The health and comfort of the occupants are establishing compliance standards and ensure the maximum standards for energy efficiency in the plans or designs of commercial buildings. The proposed model also focuses the capacity estimation and energy efficiency programs beyond maximum standards. © 2023 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis is the method of identifying and classifying the views of users from text documents into different sentiments, such as positive, negative or neutral. Sentiment analysis can be employed to extract structured and informative knowledge from unstructured text pieces. This knowledge can serve as an important source of information for decision support systems and individual decision makers. Sentiment analysis plays an important role in many fields like education, where student input is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of educational institutions. In this paper, we present a machine learning based approach to sentiment analysis on students’ evaluation of higher educational institutions. We analyze a corpus containing approximately 700 student reviews written in Turkish, with the use of conventional text representation schemes and machine learning classifiers. In the experimental analysis, three conventional text representation schemes (i.e., term-presence, term-frequency, TF-IDF scheme) and three N-gram models (1-gram, 2-gram and 3-gram) have been considered in conjunction with four classifiers (i.e., support vector machines, Naïve Bayes, logistic regression, and random forest algorithm). The predictive performance of four ensemble learners (i.e., AdaBoost, Bagging and Random Subspace and voting algorithm) have been also evaluated. The increasing prevalence of botnet attacks in IoT networks has led to the development of deep learning techniques for their detection. However, conventional centralized deep learning models pose challenges in simultaneously ensuring user data privacy and detecting botnet attacks. To address this issue, this study evaluates the efficacy of Federated Learning (FL) in detecting IoT malware traffic while preserving user privacy. The study employs N-BaIoT, a dataset of real-world IoT network traffic infected by malware, and compares the effectiveness of FL models using Convolutional Neural Network, Long Short-Term Memory, and Gated Recurrent Unit models with a centralized approach. The results indicate that FL can achieve high performance in detecting abnormal traffic in IoT networks, with the CNN model yielding the best results among the three models evaluated. The study recommends the use of FL for IoT malware traffic detection due to its ability to preserve data privacy. © 2024 Global IT Research Institute - GIRI.

The purpose of this research aims to monitor, analyze, and compare the performance of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) between the selective cloud providers. To assure which cloud provider has more stability, reliability, and scalability. This paper focuses on performance testing based on a deployed web server in the cloud environment. The main feature of cloud computing is scalability thus most common IaaS cloud service providers (CSPs) have Auto Scaling features for instances or virtual machines. Not only does this paper gives the experimental results of the scaling scalability testing, but it also provides the results of recovery testing to inspect how long a web server is able to recover from failures and load testing which simulated traffic requests. Testing was conducted in the major public clouds of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Azure performs the most efficiently of almost all testing but hardest to configure.
