This paper presents a recommender system to promote energy consumption reduction behaviors in residential buildings. The system exploits data stream processing methods jointly with machine learning algorithms on real-time residential data. Specifically, the data stream includes disaggregated power consumption, context, and weather conditions data. Internally the system converts time-series data streams into discrete ordered data points, which serve as inputs for training ML models. This method is used to predict power consumption anomalies. Gradually, the system helps to shape its users' activities into more energy-efficient ones. The experimental evaluation on real and simulated datasets demonstrates the promising performance of the proposed method, primarily when the K-neighbors neighbors' algorithm is used to classify the features extracted with interleaving current with the previous data points. The performance assessment of the machine learning algorithms shows the suitability of our implementation for Edge and Fog platforms in terms of accuracy, latency, and model size. © 2022 IEEE.

The deterioration of transmission lines has a profound effect on the reliability and safety of the power grid. Accurate estimation of their age is critical for effective maintenance and investment planning. This paper proposes a method that combines the percentage statistical health index (%SHI) with failure probability curve-fitting (FPCF) to estimate the ages of overhead transmission lines. %SHI assesses equipment condition through scoring and weighting, while FPCF correlates SHI with the probability of failure. Evaluation of 924 towers situated in various terrains across Thailand reveals discrepancies between estimated and actual ages, influenced by environmental factors. To enhance reliability, proactive maintenance strategies such as regular inspections and advanced monitoring are recommended.

Wireless sensor networks have been implemented in various software to help gather and analyze data from the physical world. Wireless sensor networks are networks of multiple tiny sensors powered by low-energy batteries (WSNs). WSN lifetime is a critical factor. This is because, after WSNs have been deployed in a given application, the inaccessibility of the sensing nodes makes it impossible to recharge or replace the power source that is limited in energy. Until recently, WSNs were thought to be the same. All the network nodes have the same power, processing speed, and operational capacity. However, scientists have developed heterogeneous WSNs, in which the properties of individual nodes may vary, to extend the lifespan of networks. In order to extend a network's helpful life, energy-efficient protocols must be designed. Even though WSN has its own problems, it has brought a fresh perspective to studying real-time intelligent systems. WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) has gained significant popularity in the recent years, owing to its vast applications in real-time scenarios, such as disaster management, pollution monitoring, temperature monitoring, traffic monitoring, transport monitoring, healthcare monitoring, battlefield monitoring, and border security surveillance, to name a few. Numerous sensor nodes are employed in these applications. They are typically placed in the sensing field, where they automatically transfer data to the base station (BS) through energy transmission (i.e., battery in the sensor). In WSN, clustering is one method for optimizing power consumption at the sensor node. The sensor nodes are grouped and given a leader when they undergo clustering. This study overviews various WSN clustering algorithms, each categorized according to various clustering properties.

Cross-layer Protocols for proper resource Allocation in Mobile Networks are a singular technique to enhance the efficiency of wireless networks. The method utilizes multiple layers of the radio protocol stack better to coordinate cell node scheduling and resource allocation. Using combining communication, routing, and scheduling functionalities in an unmarried protocol, pass-Layer Protocols for proper resource Allocation can offer a sizable will increase in the number of facts that may be transferred and the overall latency and throughput of the community. This technique can also enhance the radio interface’s operation by lowering interference and encouraging collaborative communications. Eventually, by using facts and managing records from the communique and routing layers, go-Layer Protocols for proper resource Allocation can reduce the complexity of the community, even offering greater scalability. This paper affords unique cross-Layer Protocols for resource Allocation in Cellular Networks. The proposed protocol permits integrated resource allocation in the cell network environment, considering communication and computation layers.

To solve the problem of low efficiency of NO_(x)emission reduction in self-reflux burners,this study is based on the concept of coordinated control of self-reflux burner structural and thermal *** completing the structural design and optimization of thermal parameters,we continue to adjust the two key structural parameters:the nozzle axis distance and the length of the cylindrical section,to minimize NO_(x)*** are the two parameters that chiefly affect the mixing of flue gas and fuel *** results show that increasing nozzle axis distance can delay the mixing of gas and air and create a more uniform oxygen concentration field for the combustion *** maximum combustion temperature is reduced from 1973.65 K to 1935.88 K and the volume fraction of NO_(x)in the flue gas is reduced from 188.08×10^(–6)to 143.47×10^(–6).However,compared with the nozzle axis distance,the length of the cylindrical section of the burner has little effect on the mixing of the flow *** different cylindrical section lengths,the maximum combustion temperature does not change more than 3 K,and the volume fraction of NO_(x)in the flue gas changes within 5×10~(–6).

Hybrid systems play a crucial role in modeling real-world applications where discrete and continuous dynamics interact, including autonomous vehicles, power systems, and traffic networks. Safety verification for these systems requires determining whether system states can enter unsafe regions under given initial conditions and uncertainties—a question directly addressed by reachability analysis. However, hybrid systems present unique difficulties because their state space is divided into multiple regions with distinct dynamic models, causing traditional data-driven methods to produce inadequate over-approximations of reachable sets at region boundaries where dynamics change abruptly. This paper introduces a novel approach using hybrid zonotopes for data-driven reachability analysis of piecewise affine systems. Our method addresses the boundary transition problem by developing computational algorithms that calculate the family of set models guaranteed to contain the true system trajectories. Additionally, we extend and evaluate three methods for set-based estimation that account for input-output data with measurement noise. © 2025, CC BY.

On February 7, 2021, a rockfall in the Rishiganga Valley killed about 200 people. For the integration of seismic, social media, and remote sensing, a case study on this tragedy has been conducted. This study explores the role of social media in managing Himalayan landslides in conjunction with remote sensing data analytics. We look at how these technologies can enhance damage management, quick mobilization, and early warning systems. A literature review and case studies of the successful use of these technologies in other disaster-prone areas will support these suggestions. The intention is to equip decision-makers and experts in disaster management with the practical knowledge they need to effectively prepare for and respond to Himalayan landslide events, saving lives and minimizing the impact of natural hazards.

This work is unique in the use of discrete wavelets that were built from or derived from Chebyshev polynomials of the second and third kind, filter the Discrete Second Chebyshev Wavelets Transform (DSCWT), and derive two effective filters. The Filter Discrete Third Chebyshev Wavelets Transform (FDTCWT) is used in the process of analyzing color images and removing noise and impurities that accompany the image, as well as because of the large amount of data that makes up the image as it is taken. These data are massive, making it difficult to deal with each other during transmission. However to address this issue, the image compression technique is used, with the image not losing information due to the readings that were obtained, and the results were satisfactory. Mean Square Error (MSE), Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR), Bit Per Pixel (BPP), and Compression Ratio (CR) Coronavirus is the initial treatment, while the processing stage is done with network training for Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) with Discrete Second Chebeshev Wavelets Convolutional Neural Network (DSCWCNN) and Discrete Third Chebeshev Wavelets Convolutional Neural Network (DTCWCNN) to create an efficient algorithm for face recognition, and the best results were achieved in accuracy and in the least amount of time. 3D point clouds are discrete samples of continuous surfaces which can be used for various applications. However, the lack of true connectivity information, i.e., edge information, makes point cloud recognition challenging. Recent edge-aware methods incorporate edge modeling into network designs to better describe local structures. Although these methods show that incorporating edge information is beneficial, how edge information helps remains unclear, making it difficult for users to analyze its usefulness. To shed light on this issue, in this study, we propose a new algorithm called Diffusion Unit (DU) that handles edge information in a principled and interpretable manner while providing decent improvement. First, we theoretically show that DU learns to perform task-beneficial edge enhancement and suppression. Second, we experimentally observe and verify the edge enhancement and suppression behavior. Third, we empirically demonstrate that this behavior contributes to performance improvement. Extensive experiments and analyses performed on challenging benchmarks verify the effectiveness of DU. Specifically, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in object part segmentation using ShapeNet part and scene segmentation using S3DIS. We introduce a novel graph-based framework for alleviating key challenges in distantly-supervised relation extraction and demonstrate its effectiveness in the challenging and important domain of biomedical data. Specifically, we propose a graph view of sentence bags referring to an entity pair, which enables message-passing based aggregation of information related to the entity pair over the sentence bag. The proposed framework alleviates the common problem of noisy labeling in distantly supervised relation extraction and also effectively incorporates inter-dependencies between sentences within a bag. Extensive experiments on two large-scale biomedical relation datasets and the widely utilized NYT dataset demonstrate that our proposed framework significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods for biomedical distant supervision relation extraction while also providing excellent performance for relation extraction in the general text mining domain.
