In this paper, we consider the two-way relay network (TWRN) in the presence of an eavesdropper, and construct a noisy amplify-and-forward (AF) algorithm to enhance the physical (PHY) layer security capacity. All the source nodes, the relay and the eavesdropper are equipped with multiple antennas. In the proposed noisy AF scheme, the relay first receives signals from both source nodes, adds weighted artificial noise (AN), and then amplifies and forwards the modified signal to both source nodes. In this scenario, we analyze the effects of AN and the number of relay antennas on the secrecy sum rate for different conditioning channel matrices. It is shown that AN will result in an increased secrecy sum rate, and the channel condition is a key parameter of the system in deciding the sum secrecy rate. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the validity of proposed studies.

Due to the nonlinearities, model uncertainties and disturbances of the two-tank liquid level cascade system,active disturbance rejection controller(ADRC) solution was developed. First, a nonlinear mechanism model and its linearized model were built based on the theories of fluid dynamics for the system. Second, first-order linear ADRCs for the outer loop of the two cascade systems with an unknown order were designed, respectively. With a simple integrator as the normalized type of the feedback system, other parts of dynamic system which are different from the normalized type are treated as the total disturbances. The disturbances were estimated by the second-order linear extended state observer and compensated in the control law. Then the system, with nonlinearities, uncertainties and disturbances, is reduced to only a linear integrator. In comparison with the traditional PI controller, simulation results show that both the proposed ADRCs have better robustness and adaptability against model uncertainties.

Embedded in silicon β-FeSi2 nanocrystals (NCs) were grown on Si(111) by solid phase epitaxy of a thin iron film followed by Si molecular beam epitaxy. After solid phase epitaxy, a mixture of β-FeSi2 and ε-FeSi nanocrystals is formed on the surface, sometimes β and ε phases coexist inside one nanocrystal. During initial stage of Si molecular beam epitaxy all ε-FeSi transforms into β-FeSi2. β-FeSi2 nanocrystals tend to move following Si growth front. By adjusting growth condition, we manage to prevent the nanocrystals from moving and to fabricate 7-layer n-Si(111)/β-FeSi2_NCs/p+-Si silicon heterostructure with embedded β-FeSi2 NCs. An epitaxial relationship and a stress induced in the nanocrystals by silicon matrix were found to be suitable for indirect to direct band gap transition in β-FeSi2. Of the heterostructure, a n-i-p avalanche photodetector and a light-emitting diode were formed. They have shown relatively good performance: ultrabroadband photoresponse from the visible (400 nm) to short-wavelength infrared (1800 nm) ranges owing to quantum-confined Stark effect in the nanocrystals and optical emission power of up to 25 µW at 9 A/cm2 with an external quantum efficiency of 0.009% at room temperature owing to a direct fundamental transition in stressed β-FeSi2 nanocrystals.

The objective of this paper is to address the linear state-feedback control problem for a family of high-order uncertain nonlinear systems. Based on the adding a power integrator technique, the authors recursively construct a linear controller with dynamic gains, which can be used to deal with the uncertain nonlinear terms and simplify the controller structure. Moreover, it is proved that the proposed control law can globally regulate system states to the origin and guarantee the boundedness of all the signals of the closed-loop system as well. Finally, a simulation example is presented with some comparison with the existing result so as to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design scheme.

This paper considers the problem of global output feedback stabilization via sampled-data control for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems subject to time delays. The system satisfies a lower-triangular linear growth condition with unknown growth rates. A new inductive method is first introduced to estimate the state growth in the presence of time delays and nonvarnishing nonlinearities. When only the output of the system is measurable, with the help of output domination approach, a sampled-data output feedback controller is constructed to solve the global stabilization problem. The proposed sampled-data controller is linear in structure and therefore can be easily implemented in practice.

In this study we discussed the feasibility and implementation of using Microsoft Kinect as a marker less motion capture system to track human motions of an operator performing a task in an industrial workshop. This was achieved by developing an application to use the skeleton tracking data provided by existing API's for Kinect to generate digital human simulations in an ergonomic assessment and virtual human prototyping system that we created with MakeHuman program. The system uses a Microsoft Kinect to extract the human motion features. The x, y, z values of human skeleton joints are obtained from the Kinect using Microsoft Kinect Library and Microsoft c#. The data obtained from this device are processed by noise reduction, Human kinematic parameters calculation and predicting risk of the musculoskeletal disorders modules. The Applications test results show that the developed system can be successfully used human ergonomic analysis. This system is flexible and open for future extensions.
