This paper is devoted to the consensus control for a network of autonomous agents with high-dimension linear coupling dynamics and subject to external disturbances. By transforming the consensus control problem into an H infin control problem, we propose a distributed state feedback protocol, and obtain conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to ensure the consensus with a prescribed H infin performance level for networks with zero and nonzero communication delays, respectively. Furthermore, the undetermined feedback matrix of the proposed protocol is also solved. A numerical example is included to validate the theoretical results.

This paper proposes an adaptive multi-class support vector machine for simultaneous microarray classification and gene selection. By evaluating the gene ranking significance, the adaptive multi-class support vector machine is shown to encourage an adaptive grouping effect in the process of building classifiers, thus leading a sparse multi-classifiers with enhanced interpretability. Based on a reasonable correlation between the two regularization parameters, an efficient solution path algorithm is developed for solving the proposed support vector machine. Experiments performed on the leukaemia data set are provided to verify the obtained results.

Rotary cement kiln is the main part of a cement plant that clinker is produced in it. Clinker is the main ingredient of cement. Continual and prolonged operation of rotary cement kiln is vital in cement factories. However, prolonged operation of the kiln is not possible and periodic repairs of the refractory lining would become necessary, due to non-linear phenomena existing in the kiln, such as sudden falls of coatings in the burning zone and probability of damages to the refractory materials during production. This is the basic reason behind the needs for a comprehensive model which is severely necessary for better control of this process. Such a model can be derived based on the mathematic analysis with consultation of expert operator experiences. In this paper both linear and nonlinear model are identified for rotary kiln of Saveh white cement factory. The linear model is introduced using Box-Jenkins structure. The results of the obtained model were satisfactory compared to some other linear models and can be used for designing adaptive or robust controllers. Also, nonlinear system identification via Neural Network technique is performed and its result was compared to linear models.

A modified predictive optimal control (MPOC) scheme based on neural network modeling and particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques is proposed in this paper for reheater steam temperature (RST) control of a large-scale boiler unit. A recurrent neural network is trained to directly model the temperature dynamic response of the reheater system. The neural network direct model is then used to evaluate the performance of the MPOC in search of the optimal control, where optimization is carried out with the PSO. A simplified PSO algorithm with search direction control is designed to find the nearest and optimal controls for the reheater steam temperature. To further improve the optimal search accuracy, each last-step prediction error between the direct model output and the actual RST is added to the current-step cost function to compensate for the model error. control tests on a full-scope simulator of a large scale power generating unit have shown the validity of the proposed method.

Ensuring system stability in medium-voltage DC (MVDC) integrated power systems (IPS) is a key issue, due to the presence of many shipboard electric users fed by constant power load (CPL) converters. This paper presents an innovative control system aimed at utilizing alternators, connected to the IPS through controlled AC-DC interface converters, to improve MVDC stable voltage control. Such system is designed to control, for each shipboard generator, the AC machine voltage, the prime mover speed and the interface converter, in an integrated way. Technological aspects and control principle scheme of this system will be presented in the paper, with particular reference to the issue of DC-link voltage stability. This system is expected to bring advantages in terms of MVDC IPS integration, stable parallel operation of generators and loads, safe exploitation of alternators capability as a source of stabilizing power.

Telehealth is considered one of the best strategies to support the increasing demand for health services. Unfortunately, most Telehealth initiatives fail before the operational phase or they do not reach the expected potential usage. Although several studies and pilot projects have demonstrated that there are several mature technologies available for supporting a wide range of clinical services over distance, the current state of large-scale Telehealth services is still inadequate for the needs of health professionals, policy makers, researchers, users and other stakeholders. Consequently, this paper evaluates the current operational barriers of large-scale Telehealth services provisioning, focusing specifically on the challenges of Information and Communications Technology. Some complementary assets, besides the core clinical and medical protocols, are required for performing technological innovations in large-scale service operations. Furthermore, the paper ends with a brief evaluation of two frameworks used by telecom providers during the technological convergence waves of the 1990s. An analysis comparing the Telecommunications Convergence phenomenon of those days and current Telehealth context can provide insights for developing a more consistent Telehealth operational framework.

This paper combines the multi-innovation theory with the auxiliary model identification idea to present the auxiliary model based multi-innovation stochastic gradient algorithm by expanding the scalar innovation to an innovation vector and introducing the innovation length. Convergence analysis in the stochastic framework indicates that the parameter estimation error consistently converges to zero under certain excitation condition. Finally, we illustrate and test the proposed algorithm with an example.

In this paper is presented the improvement of the hardware and the optimization of the algorithm of a system for short-time weather forecasting, developed by the authors. With a purpose of reading of more parameters there are proposed some solutions, related with giving of more accurate forecasts. The features of the system are extended and by means of Wireless communication and access to Internet for connection with other similar systems and/or Internet servers for meteorological information. The algorithm of work of the system is optimized as for base methods for prediction are accepted the Trends and Persistent methods, and the read of the surface effects are reduced to the influence of the wind, the humidity and the clouds cover. This leads to reducing of the requirements for processing resources of the used microcontroller and the volume of the processed statistical data. Under account are taken some modern methods for atmosphere sounding, and by them to increase the accuracy and to extend the range of the given forecasts.

This paper presents ontlology-based architecture for pattern recognition in the context of static source code analysis. The proposed system has three subsystems: parser, OWL ontologies and analyser. The parser subsystem translates the input coded to AST that is constructed as an XML tree. The OWL ontologies define code patterns and general programming concepts. The analyser subsystem constructs instances of the input code as ontology individuals and asks the reasoner to classify them. The experience gained in the implementation of the proposed system and some practical issues are discussed. The recognition system successfully integrates the knowledge representation field and static code analysis. resulting in greater flexibility of the recognition system.
