Aiming at the importance of the analysis for public opinion on Internet, the authors propose a high-performance extraction method for public opinion. In this method, the space model for classification is adopted to describe the relationship between words and categories. The combined feature selection method is used to remove noisy words from the original feature space effectively. Then the category weight of words is calculated by the improved formula combining the frequency of words and distribution of words. Finally, the class weights of the not-categorized documents based on the category weight of words are obtained for realizing opinion extraction. Experiment results show that the method has comparatively high classification and good stability.

A novel and precise measurement scheme for the planar object's surface area is proposed. This scheme consists of two steps which are the measurement of the image target's pixel area and the calibration of the pixel's size equivalence. A 2D image measuring machine is used to obtain the detected object's image. A cubic B-spline active contour is applied to converge to the target's contour edge. The image target's pixel area is computed with the area formula of a closed cubic B-spline curve. Similarly, the centroid coordinate of the convergent active contour is computed. A novel centroid-self-calibration method is devised, which measures the pixel's size equivalence with the displacement of the centroid coordinate and that measured by a dual-frequency laser. This scheme is applied to measure the small circular aperture's true area in a work surface, which indicates that when the control point number is 20, the measuring repetition error of the true area is less than 0.30%.

This paper presents a method to determine the initial rotor position of a brushless DC machine at standstill without a position sensor. The key principle of the rotor position estimation is based on the simple detection and comparison of phase voltage and current responses relating to the stator inductance varied with the position of the rotor magnet. In the proposed method, only three pulse voltage injections are applied and 30 degree resolution can be achieved. Moreover, no knowledge of machine parameters is required. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by experimental results.

An improved half-vehicle model has been proposed for active suspension control systems, in contrast to existing models, it allows to explore the nature of the effect of vehicle speed changes by introducing a state vector of vehicle pitch angle. Three control strategies of linear quadratic control (LQ), improved LQ (ILQ) and wheelbase preview LQ (WLQ) have been implemented into the proposed model. ILQ has integrated an additional control parameter into LQ by concerning the correlation between acceleration values and their corresponding pitch angles. Simulation results have showed the effectiveness of the proposed model in terms of LQ, ILQ and WLQ control strategies.
