Master equations and quantum trajectories for squeezed wave packets

The interaction between matter and squeezed light has mostly been treated within the approximation that the field correlation time is small. Methods for treating squeezed light with more general correlations currently involve explicitly modeling the systems producing the light. We develop a general purpose input-output theory for a particular form of narrowband squeezed light-a squeezed wave-packet mode-that only cares about the statistics of the squeezed field and the shape of the wave packet. This formalism allows us to derive the input-output relations and the master equation. We also consider detecting the scattered field using photon counting and homodyne measurements which necessitates the derivation of the stochastic master equation. The non Markovian nature of the field manifests itself in the master equation as a coupled hierarchy of equations. We illustrate these with consequences for the decay and resonance fluorescence of two-level atoms in the presence of such fields. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Millimeter-Wave (mmWave) communication in ultra-dense networks (UDNs) has been considered as a promising technology for future wireless communication systems. Exploiting the benefits of mmWave and UDNs, we introduce a new approach for jointly optimizing small-cell base station (SBS)-user (UE) association and power allocation to maximize the system energy efficiency (EE) while guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) constraints for each UE. The SBS-UE association problem poses a new challenge since it reflects as a complex mixed-integer non-convex problem. On the other hand, the power allocation problem is in non-convexity structure, which is impossible to handle with the association problem concurrently. An alternating descent method is thus introduced to divide the primal optimization problem into two sub-problems and handle one-by-one at each iteration, where the SBS-UE association problem is reformulated using the penalty approach. Then, path-following algorithms are developed to convert non-convex problem into the simple convex quadratic functions at each iteration. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the convergence and low-complexity of our proposed schemes. © ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2019.

Integrated circuits(ICs) and optoelectronic chips are the foundation stones of the modern information society. The IC industry has been driven by the so-called "Moore's law" in the past 60 years, and now has entered the post Moore's law era. In this paper, we review the recent progress of ICs and optoelectronic chips. The research status, technical challenges and development trend of devices, chips and integrated technologies of typical IC and optoelectronic chips are focused on. The main contents include the development law of IC and optoelectronic chip technology, the IC design and processing technology, emerging memory and chip architecture, brain-like chip structure and its mechanism, heterogeneous integration, quantum chip technology, silicon photonics chip technology, integrated microwave photonic chip, and optoelectronic hybrid integrated chip.

With the development of manufacturing and society, a large amount of end-of-life products are generated but with reuse value. Therefore, it is of great significance to dismantle and reuse them. A robotic linear disassembly line plays an important role and promotes the disassembly efficiency in a disassembly process. In this work, we establish a mathematical model of a linear robotic disassembly line balancing problem, which requires the maximization of profit and minimization of energy consumption. Then, an improved ant lion optimizer is proposed to optimize the objectives of the multi-objective robotic disassembly line balancing problem. The experimental results show that the multi-objective ant lion optimizer has good performance, and the diversity and convergence are better than its peers.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one method that is often used in the benchmarking process. The benchmarking process with DEA is often faced with problems where there is a Decision Making Unit (DMU) both Input and Output which is not in the form of qualitative data but in the form of qualitative data. Qualitative data requires an assessment from the appraiser so that it can become quantitative data. This study will use the Fuzzy Simple Additive Weighting method to convert qualitative data into quantitative. The results of this study will produce a model that integrates DEA with Fuzzy Simple Additive Weighting. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET), Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol suffers from the black hole attacks that disrupts the functionality of the network by displaying false information during routing process. Such an attack eventually affects the network performance. In this paper, an authentication mechanism based on lightweight encryption algorithm and Media Access Control (MAC) authentication are proposed for black hole and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The proposed technique is validated in Network Simulator 2 (NS2) whose results show that the approach offers prompt route verification with high throughput and generating less routing overhead avoiding black hole attacks.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD), especially coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of human morbidity and mortality. CVD involves blockage in the heart or blood vessels (arteries, capillaries and veins). Different techniques are used to check the condition and blockage in the heart. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the medical techniques employed to monitor heart performance and used for the detection of different arrhythmias. Secured transmission of ECG system has transpired as a prospective solution to help the medical practitioner to check the patient’s heart condition;either the heart is working normally or has some abnormalities like tachycardia or bradycardia. This study aims to design and develop security enhanced ECG system for secure and privacy-preserving, ECG diagnosing and ECG visualization. The QRS complex method will be used in this work to diagnose the acquired ECG signal. The result obtained from QRS complex method is used to display a healthy or unhealthy patient’s condition. The system will alert for further diagnosis if the condition is critical, so it will help medical practitioner for further detection of arrhythmias and medical researcher for further studies. The security and privacy features of the system protect the authenticity and confidentiality of the patient’s medical data and are implemented using security enhancing techniques. This problem will be solved by encrypting the signals, using the proposed fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) technique. This study demonstrates contributions by applying these ideas to two classical problems on the natural algorithm calculation and signal processing. © 2018 IEEE.
