The article introduces Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)and Filter Bank Multicarrier(FBMC),known as hybrid waveform(NOMAFBMC),as two of the most deserving contenders for fifth-generation(5G)*** spectrum access and clampdown of spectrum outflow are unique characteristics of hybrid *** compare the spectral efficiency of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM),FBMC,NOMA,and *** is seen that the hybrid waveform outperforms the existing *** to Average Power Ratio(PAPR)is regarded as a significant issue in multicarrier *** combination of Selective Mapping-Partial Transmit Sequence(SLM-PTS)is an effective way to minimize large peak power *** SLM,PTS,and SLM-PTS procedures are applied to the NOMA-FBMC *** hybrid structure is applied to the existing ***,the correlated factors like Bit Error Rate(BER)and Computational Overhead(CO)are studied and computed for these *** outcome of the work reveals that the NOMA-FBMC waveform coupled with the SLM-PTS algorithm offers superior performance as compared to the prevailing systems.

In this research, our research team used the self-designed piezoelectric actuator to achieve the micro/nanometer level precise positioning biaxial piezoelectric actuated stage through the redesign of stage mechanism. A novel piezoelectric actuator structure - 4-9-9-14 piezoelectric actuator is constructed, and it is made of piezoelectric buzzer to drive the stage. The movement of the piezoelectric actuated stage is read and analyzed by means of NI PCI-6115 data acquisition card and Lab- VIEW software operating in conjunction with a linear encoder. The new consideration of tuning time Ton is used to place of traditional method of changing the magnitude of driving voltage to control the stepping distance of the stage. Under a constant driving voltage, the displacement of the stage increases with time Ton, and the displacement of the stage decreases with time Ton. The aforesaid phenomenon occurs to leftward or rightward movement of the upper stage and forward or backward movement of the lower stage. Given a constant time Ton, the displacement of the stage in motion decreases with the driving voltage, and the displacement of the stage in motion increases with the driving voltage. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

For a non-square transfer matrix with zeros on the extended imaginary axis including infinity, this paper discusses how to dilate (augment) such transfer matrix to a square one without adding extra zeros on the extended imaginary axis. This paper studies the energy based control of an under actuated two-link robot called the Pendubot. After having investigated the characteristics of the closed-loop system with the energy based control law (Fantoni et al, 2000) for swinging the Pendubot up, this paper proposes a sufficient condition about parameters in the control law such that the total energy of the Pendubot will converge to the potential energy of its top upright position. This paper gives an answer to the unsolved issue in (Fantoni et al, 2000) whether the total energy of the Pendubot will converge to the potential energy of its top upright position. Moreover, with the aid of the proposed condition, the parameters in the control law are easy to be chosen. Copyright © 2002 IFAC.

The swinging up control for a remotely driven Acrobot (RDA) is studied and an energy based controller is designed via the Lyapunov stability theory. The analysis of convergence of the energy as well as the motion of the RDA under the controller is presented. The conditions on control parameters for achieving a successful swinging up control are given. Furthermore, simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the presented theoretical results. Copyright © 2005 IFAC.

Automatic speech recognition systems have the potential to make hard to understand speech more easily recognizable. Designing a system that recognizes impaired speech is more difficult than a system that recognizes normal speech. The Automatic Malay Speech Recognition for Speech Disorder system is able to recognized impaired Malay words spoken by people who suffer from dysarthria, a motor speech disorder resulting from neuron damage, characterized by poor communication. It is developed using techniques used for normal speech recognition but modified to cater for the speech impairment. A feature extraction technique based on the Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient (MFCC) is used along with artificial intelligent algorithms to recognize the speech. In addition, novel pre-processing steps are required to segment the speech prior to recognition taking into account the speech irregularities. The system requires that the user is registered with the system and the system is then trained to accommodate the user speech pattern. The outputs of the system are the visual display of the corrected words uttered or synthesized audio version of the corrected words.

In this paper we describe the coordination strategies that were designed to achieve effective cooperation between a robot goal-keeper and the rest of the ART (Azzurra Robot Team) team that participates in the RoboCup F-2000 (mid-size) competitions. The paper introduces the multi-robot environment on which cooperation in ART is based and, in particular, its communication sub-system. Speech compression is one area of digital signal processing that focusing on reducing the bit rate of the speech signal for transmission or storage without significant loss of quality. In recent years a new technique called wavelet transform has been proposed for signal analysis. It has been successfully used in image compression application. So far, less attention has been paid to the research in the speech compression . using wavelet. This paper attempts to evaluate the wavelet compression technique on speech signals Different wavelet filters were used to select the best filter suitable for speech signal in providing low bit rate and IOW computation complexity. Our implementation was evaluated base on PSNR, SNR, NRMSE and compression ratio tested on 8 kHz bit speech signals. This algorithm was also compared to the following speech compression schemes: Linear Productive Coding (LPC) which reduces the transmitted data by factor of more than twelve, and Global system Mobile (GSM) which reduces the transmitted data by factor of five As a result from this study, wavelet speech compression gives higher SNR and better speech quality than the other techniques. © 2003 IEEE.

Face annotation for personal photos has a number of potential applications in Multimedia Information Retrieval (MIR). We propose a novel face annotation method that systematically combines contextual information of photos with traditional Face Recognition (FR) technologies. To overcome the limitations of conventional FR-based annotation approaches, situation and person clustering methods are proposed based on context of personal photos. By relying on the proposed clustering methods, multiple facial images that belong to the same person are applied to subspace FR methods. This allows traditional FR methods to take advantages of feature- or measurement-level fusion strategies for automatic annotation of faces on personal photos. The effectiveness of the proposed method was successfully tested on 1,120 personal photos selected from standard MPEG-7 Visual Core Experiment 3 (VCE-3). Extensive experimental results showed that the proposed method improves annotation accuracy by at least an order of magnitude, compared with conventional FR-based approaches. Copyright 2008 ACM.

The main deficiency of standard TCP and all existing variations in ad hoc mobile network arises in its inability to classify packet losses. Conventional TCP diagnoses all losses due to congestion since non-congestion losses are rare and ignorable in wired network. However, these losses are generated frequently in MANET due to signal attenuation, interference and node's mobility. In order to prevent TCP form invoking congestion control over non-congestion loss and vice versa, Packet loss classification with high accuracy is desirable. This paper proposes an end-to-end sender-side approach which aims to classify congestion loss, wireless channel loss and link failure loss using queue usage estimation. Relative One-way Trip Time is key factor in calculating queue usage. Packet losses with queue usage rate greater than predefined threshold is always interpreted as congestion loss no matter how loss recognized. However, queue usage less than threshold signify presence of non-congestion losses. Non-congestion loss which recognized by three duplicate ack labels loss due to wireless channel error since it is indication of route existence between communicating end point that duplicate ACKs moved along. However Non-congestion loss which recognized after retransmission timer expiration has been probably due to link failure. Different approaches efficiency are evaluated based on loss classification's accuracy under different conditions such as various flow numbers, various wireless loss rates and variable speed for nodes. Simulations illustrate that obtained accuracy of enhanced scheme is the highest among proposed methods. © 2011 IEEE.
