Intelligent obstacle avoidance algorithm for safe urban monitoring with autonomous mobile drones

The growing field of urban monitoring has increasingly recognized the potential of utilizing autonomous technologies,particularly in drone *** deployment of intelligent drone swarms offers promising solutions for enhancing the efficiency and scope of urban condition *** this context,this paper introduces an innovative algorithm designed to navigate a swarm of drones through urban landscapes for monitoring *** primary challenge addressed by the algorithm is coordinating drone movements from one location to another while circumventing obstacles,such as *** algorithm incorporates three key components to optimize the obstacle detection,navigation,and energy efficiency within a drone ***,the algorithm utilizes a method to calculate the position of a virtual leader,acting as a navigational beacon to influence the overall direction of the ***,the algorithm identifies observers within the swarm based on the current *** further refine obstacle avoidance,the third component involves the calculation of angular velocity using fuzzy *** approach considers the proximity of detected obstacles through operational rangefinders and the target’s location,allowing for a nuanced and adaptable computation of angular *** integration of fuzzy logic enables the drone swarm to adapt to diverse urban conditions dynamically,ensuring practical obstacle *** proposed algorithm demonstrates enhanced performance in the obstacle detection and navigation accuracy through comprehensive *** results suggest that the intelligent obstacle avoidance algorithm holds promise for the safe and efficient deployment of autonomous mobile drones in urban monitoring applications.

Block Incremental Dense Tucker Decomposition with Application to Spatial and Temporal Analysis of Air Quality Data

How can we efficiently store and mine dynamically generated dense tensors for modeling the behavior of multidimensional dynamic data?Much of the multidimensional dynamic data in the real world is generated in the form of time-growing *** example,air quality tensor data consists of multiple sensory values gathered from wide locations for a long *** data,accumulated over time,is redundant and consumes a lot ofmemory in its raw *** need a way to efficiently store dynamically generated tensor data that increase over time and to model their behavior on demand between arbitrary time *** this end,we propose a Block IncrementalDense Tucker Decomposition(BID-Tucker)method for efficient storage and on-demand modeling ofmultidimensional spatiotemporal *** that tensors come in unit blocks where only the time domain changes,our proposed BID-Tucker first slices the blocks into matrices and decomposes them via singular value decomposition(SVD).The SVDs of the time×space sliced matrices are stored instead of the raw tensor blocks to save *** modeling from data is required at particular time blocks,the SVDs of corresponding time blocks are retrieved and incremented to be used for Tucker *** factor matrices and core tensor of the decomposed results can then be used for further data *** compared our proposed BID-Tucker with D-Tucker,which our method extends,and vanilla Tucker *** show that our BID-Tucker is faster than both D-Tucker and vanilla Tucker decomposition and uses less memory for storage with a comparable reconstruction *** applied our proposed BID-Tucker to model the spatial and temporal trends of air quality data collected in South Korea from 2018 to *** were able to model the spatial and temporal air quality *** were also able to verify unusual events,such as chronic ozone alerts and large fire events.

In pursuit of enhancing the Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)energy efficiency and operational lifespan,this paper delves into the domain of energy-efficient routing ***,the limited energy resources of Sensor Nodes(SNs)are a big challenge for ensuring their efficient and reliable *** data gathering involves the utilization of a mobile sink(MS)to mitigate the energy consumption problem through periodic network *** mobile sink(MS)strategy minimizes energy consumption and latency by visiting the fewest nodes or predetermined locations called rendezvous points(RPs)instead of all cluster heads(CHs).CHs subsequently transmit packets to neighboring *** unique determination of this study is the shortest path to reach *** the mobile sink(MS)concept has emerged as a promising solution to the energy consumption problem in WSNs,caused by multi-hop data collection with static *** this study,we proposed two novel hybrid algorithms,namely“ Reduced k-means based on Artificial Neural Network”(RkM-ANN)and“Delay Bound Reduced kmeans with ANN”(DBRkM-ANN)for designing a fast,efficient,and most proficient MS path depending upon rendezvous points(RPs).The first algorithm optimizes the MS’s latency,while the second considers the designing of delay-bound paths,also defined as the number of paths with delay over bound for the *** methods use a weight function and k-means clustering to choose RPs in a way that maximizes efficiency and guarantees network-wide *** addition,a method of using MS scheduling for efficient data collection is *** simulations and comparisons to several existing algorithms have shown the effectiveness of the suggested methodologies over a wide range of performance indicators.

A survey on cross-user federated recommendation

Recommender systems are effective in mitigating information overload, yet the centralized storage of user data raises significant privacy concerns. Cross-user federated recommendation(CUFR) provides a promising distributed paradigm to address these concerns by enabling privacy-preserving recommendations directly on user devices. In this survey, we review and categorize current progress in CUFR, focusing on four key aspects: privacy, security, accuracy, and efficiency. Firstly,we conduct an in-depth privacy analysis, discuss various cases of privacy leakage, and then review recent methods for privacy protection. Secondly, we analyze security concerns and review recent methods for untargeted and targeted *** untargeted attack methods, we categorize them into data poisoning attack methods and parameter poisoning attack methods. For targeted attack methods, we categorize them into user-based methods and item-based methods. Thirdly,we provide an overview of the federated variants of some representative methods, and then review the recent methods for improving accuracy from two categories: data heterogeneity and high-order information. Fourthly, we review recent methods for improving training efficiency from two categories: client sampling and model compression. Finally, we conclude this survey and explore some potential future research topics in CUFR.

The gaming industry, encompassing both console and mobile platforms, has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. Assessing emotional responses during gameplay presents a significant challenge. This study employs electroen-cephalography (EEG) signals to discern players' emotions while engaged in mobile gaming. Specifically, two popular mobile games, Temple Run and Subway Surfers, were chosen to represent diverse gaming environments. Each game underwent three separate trials, during which EEG data was collected using a commercially available 4-channel MUSE headband. Following each trial, players indicated their emotional state on a 9-point valence and arousal scale. Statistical analysis, including a t-Test, was conducted on the valence and arousal scores for both games, revealing a significant difference in emotional responses (p 0.05). Player data was labeled using the majority voting technique based on the three trials. Features were extracted from both the frequency domain and time domain which were used to classify valence and arousal into two classes using support vector machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbor (KNN) classifiers. The KNN classifier achieved the highest accuracy rates, with 80.55. © 2024 IEEE.

MDEV Model:A Novel Ensemble-Based Transfer Learning Approach for Pneumonia Classification Using CXR Images

Pneumonia is a dangerous respiratory disease due to which breathing becomes incredibly difficult and painful;thus,catching it early is *** physicians’time is limited in outdoor situations due to many patients;therefore,automated systems can be a *** input images from the X-ray equipment are also highly unpredictable due to variances in radiologists’***,radiologists require an automated system that can swiftly and accurately detect pneumonic lungs from chest *** medical classifications,deep convolution neural networks are commonly *** research aims to use deep pretrained transfer learning models to accurately categorize CXR images into binary classes,i.e.,Normal and *** MDEV is a proposed novel ensemble approach that concatenates four heterogeneous transfer learning models:Mobile-Net,DenseNet-201,EfficientNet-B0,and VGG-16,which have been finetuned and trained on 5,856 CXR *** evaluation matrices used in this research to contrast different deep transfer learning architectures include precision,accuracy,recall,AUC-roc,and *** model effectively decreases training loss while increasing *** findings conclude that the proposed MDEV model outperformed cutting-edge deep transfer learning models and obtains an overall precision of 92.26%,an accuracy of 92.15%,a recall of 90.90%,an auc-roc score of 90.9%,and f-score of 91.49%with minimal data pre-processing,data augmentation,finetuning and hyperparameter adjustment in classifying Normal and Pneumonia chests.

Cyberbullying,a critical concern for digital safety,necessitates effective linguistic analysis tools that can navigate the complexities of language use in online *** tackle this challenge,our study introduces a new approach employing Bidirectional Encoder Representations from the Transformers(BERT)base model(cased),originally pretrained in *** model is uniquely adapted to recognize the intricate nuances of Arabic online communication,a key aspect often overlooked in conventional cyberbullying detection *** model is an end-to-end solution that has been fine-tuned on a diverse dataset of Arabic social media(SM)tweets showing a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing *** results on a diverse Arabic dataset collected from the‘X platform’demonstrate a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing methods.E-BERT shows a substantial improvement in performance,evidenced by an accuracy of 98.45%,precision of 99.17%,recall of 99.10%,and an F1 score of 99.14%.The proposed E-BERT not only addresses a critical gap in cyberbullying detection in Arabic online forums but also sets a precedent for applying cross-lingual pretrained models in regional language applications,offering a scalable and effective framework for enhancing online safety across Arabic-speaking communities.
