In this paper, the problems of stabilization for interval type-2 fuzzy systems with time-varying delay and parameter uncertainties are investigated. The objective is to design an interval type-2 fuzzy controller such that the closed-loop control system is asymptotically stable. The conditions for the existence of such a controller are delay dependent and membership function dependent in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Based on a basic lemma, we formulate and solve the problem with more flexibility due to imperfect premise matching that the number of rules and premise membership functions are not necessary the same between the interval type-2 fuzzy model and interval type-2 fuzzy controller. A systematic approach making use of the information embedded in the lower and upper membership functions is employed to facilitate the stability analysis. A numerical example indicates the effectiveness of the derived results.

Human flesh search(HFS), a Web-enabled crowdsourcing phenomenon, originated in China a decade ago. In this article, we present the first comprehensive empirical analysis of HFS, focusing on the scope of HFS activities, the patterns of HFS crowd collaboration process, and the characteristics of HFS participant networks. A survey of HFS participants was conducted to provide an in-depth understanding of the HFS community and various factors that motivate these participants to contribute. This article also advocates a new stream of Web science and social computing research that will be important in predicting the future growth and use of the World Wide Web.

This paper aims to perform the convergence analysis for a group of linear multi-agent systems with time delay and communicating over arbitrary network topology. It is proved that within the allowable delay bound, all the agents within each closed strong component reach synchronization, while all the other agents outside the closed strong components converge to the dynamic convex hull spanned by the agents in the closed strong components. The delay bound is calculated by the method of semi-discretization, which is also useful in searching for an optimal feedback control with the fastest convergence rate for a certain time delay. A simulation example is given to illustrate the validity of the obtained results.

This paper presents distributed parameter dynamical modeling capabilities of single-mast stacker crane structures. In the frame structure of stacker cranes due to external excitation or inertial forces undesirable structural vibrations may arise. These vibrations reduce the stability and positioning accuracy of stacker crane and causes increasing cycle time of storage/ retrieval operation. Thus it is necessary to investigate of these vibrations. In this paper the dynamical behavior of single-mast stacker cranes is approximated by means of distributed parameter models. The first model is a cantilever beam model with uniform material and cross-sectional properties. This model is used to demonstrate fundamental properties of Euler-Bernoulli beam models. The second model is cantilever beam model with variable cross-sectional properties and lumped masses. The eigenfrequencies and mode shapes of this mast-model are determined by means transfer matrix method. In the third model the whole structure of single-mast stacker crane is modeled. Beside the eigenfrequencies and mode shapes of this model the Bodediagrams of frequency response function is also calculated.

Teaching mechatronics is a great challenge since the subject is a multidisciplinary area of electrical, mechanical and IT knowledge. Students must deepen their knowledge in these slightly related fields of engineering. Tasks and solving problems in mechatronics require cognitive and operational knowledge and practical experience about systems design and analysis. Since mechatronics engineering is a fast-developing and practice-oriented field placing more emphasis practical and project-based education at universities is strongly encouraged by the industry. The paper presents an educational framework designed for students with a specialization in vehicle mechatronics. The aim of the system is to provide the emulation of a real vehicle module, which must be operated by appropriately designed controller unit.
