The silicon-vacancy (SiV−) color center in diamond has attracted attention because of its unique optical properties. It exhibits spectral stability and indistinguishability that facilitate efficient generation of photons capable of demonstrating quantum interference. Here we show optical initialization and readout of electronic spin in a single SiV− center with a spin relaxation time of T1=2.4±0.2 ms. Coherent population trapping (CPT) is used to demonstrate coherent preparation of dark superposition states with a spin coherence time of T2⋆=35±3 ns. This is fundamentally limited by orbital relaxation, and an understanding of this process opens the way to extend coherence by engineering interactions with phonons. Hyperfine structure is observed in CPT measurements with the Si29 isotope which allows access to nuclear spin. These results establish the SiV− center as a solid-state spin-photon interface.

Change Management (CM) is the major challenge of the strategic management particularly due to dynamics of knowledge assets (i.e. Temporal knowledge transformation) and also inadequate or insufficient use of knowledge, competencies and human creativities. In this context, CM needs to utilize knowledge Management (KM) to guarantee successful implementation of the change and also to sustain long-term organizational advantages (e.g. Time to market and Return on Investment). Such co-operation needs to comprehensively consider internal factors to organizational success as well as external (e.g. Customers). Moreover measuring and evaluating the co-operation foreground the essence of integrating feedback loop into the framework to empower CM and assure the success of KM activities. In this paper, a formerly developed model, IQMP, is customized and adapted to support CM. The IQMP provides a comprehensive framework to deploy Performance Quality Indicators (PQIs) and a knowledge based analysis of feedback. In this paper, we propose SocioPhone, a novel initiative to build a mobile platform for face-to-face interaction monitoring. Face-to-face interaction, especially conversation, is a fundamental part of everyday life. Interaction-aware applications aimed at facilitating group conversations have been proposed, but have not proliferated yet. Useful contexts to capture and support face-to-face interactions need to be explored more deeply. More important, recognizing delicate conversational contexts with commodity mobile devices requires solving a number of technical challenges. As a first step to address such challenges, we identify useful meta-linguistic contexts of conversation, such as turn-takings, prosodic features, a dominant participant, and pace. These serve as cornerstones for building a variety of interaction-aware applications. SocioPhone abstracts such useful meta-linguistic contexts as a set of intuitive APIs. Its runtime efficiently monitors registered contexts during in-progress conversations and notifies applications on-the-fly. Importantly, we have noticed that online turn monitoring is the basic building block for extracting diverse meta-linguistic contexts, and have devised a novel volume-topography-based method. We show the usefulness of SocioPhone with several interesting applications: SocioTherapist, SocioDigest, and Tug-of-War. Also, we show that our turnmonitoring technique is highly accurate and energy-efficient under diverse real-life situations. Copyright 2013 ACM.
