CCGS-based discriminatory recognition of skeleton-based actions

As life forms feature joints, dynamic skeletons have been studied extensively as a potential tool for action detection. As a result of their focus on modelling skeletons, older methods were unable to adequately convey the whole range of motion at more erratic skeletal joints. Despite introducing spatial methods for unstructured data, detecting many simultaneous motions remains challenging. As part of this study, now article proposes a CCGS for skeleton-based action recognition by depicting skeletons organically on joints and therefore attempting to capture the spatiotemporal variation in the data. Let here propose a motion regression to learn the shape statistically from numerous data points since the representation of the joints is crucial to motion convolution. To achieve this sparsity in the underlying CCGS for efficient representation, now give spatial modelling of skeletons and formulate an optimisation problem with a slip-critical joint. Each joint has a strong or weak connection to the other joints in the same frame and to key joints in the action frames that have been processed. The coordinates of the skeleton sequence and the positions of the joints are then sent to the motion-caused graph, which has been tuned, so that features based on Chebyshev, spatial, and angular approximations of the motion may be learned. Also, the article examines the motion features approximation's representation of variation. The results of the experiments show that the recommended joints regression works and the proposed CCGS achieves state-of-the-art performance on the most popular datasets. The present research suggests a CCGS-based method for skeleton-based action recognition that captures spatiotemporal variations by intuitively depicting skeletons on joints. The experimental results suggest that the proposed method obtains state-of-the-art performance, with accuracy enhancements of up to 2% over existing methods on prominent datasets. © The Author(s), under exclusive licenc

CRAQL: a novel clustering-based resource allocation using the Q-learning in fog environment

Fog computing is an emerging paradigm that provides services near the end-user. The tremendous increase in IoT devices and big data leads to complexity in fog resource allocation. Inefficient resource allocation can lead to resource starvation and unable to complete the task assignment within a specific time. Hence, to enhance the efficiency of the fog resources, it is critical to perform proper resource allocation. This work targets to provide the solution to the resource allocation problem with a novel clustering-based resource allocation using the Q-learning (CRAQL) model. For this purpose, the problem is defined as a decision-making problem and formulated as Markov decision process (MDP). Next, to find the optimal resource, an enhanced optimal resource allocation (EORA) algorithm is proposed and detailed study is performed to analyse the impact of various performance parameters. Simulation results show the comparison of the EORA versus conventional Brute force method by varying the performance parameters such as learning rate and number of trials. The experimental results exhibit optimal solutions with significant improvement in learning rate at an average probability of 0.5 within limited epochs. The Nong Han Chaloem Phrakiat Lotus Park is a tourist attraction and a source of learning regarding lotus ***,as a training area,it lacks appeal and learning motivation due to its conventional presentation of information regarding lotus *** current study introduced the concept of smart learning in this setting to increase interest and motivation for *** neural networks(CNNs)were used for the classification of lotus plant species,for use in the development of a mobile application to display details about each *** scope of the study was to classify 11 species of lotus plants using the proposed CNN model based on different techniques(augmentation,dropout,and L2)and hyper parameters(dropout and epoch number).The expected outcome was to obtain a high-performance CNN model with reduced total parameters compared to using three different pre-trained CNN models(Inception V3,VGG16,and VGG19)as *** performance of the model was presented in terms of accuracy,F1-score,precision,and recall *** results showed that the CNN model with the augmentation,dropout,and L2 techniques at a dropout value of 0.4 and an epoch number of 30 provided the highest testing accuracy of *** best proposed model was more accurate than the pre-trained CNN models,especially compared to Inception *** addition,the number of total parameters was reduced by approximately 1.80–2.19 *** findings demonstrated that the proposed model with a small number of total parameters had a satisfactory degree of classification accuracy.

Abnormal event detection in video surveillance is critical for security, traffic management, and industrial monitoring applications. This paper introduces an innovative methodology for anomaly detection in video data, encompassing three primary stages: preprocessing, feature learning, and anomaly detection. We employ background subtraction and noise reduction during preprocessing to refine the data. The feature-learning stage involves training an LSTM autoencoder to capture the essential features of normal video sequences. For anomaly detection, we map video data to a lower-dimensional space (latent code) and compare it against the distribution of codes from normal sequences. We determine regularity scores and identify local minima points exceeding a specified threshold while scrutinizing shadows between adjacent maxima to confirm and pinpoint anomalies. When tested on the CUHK Avenue and UMN datasets, our methodology demonstrated performance with AUCs of 93.8% and 94.1%, respectively, outperforming several baseline models. Our results show the high precision of our method that can detect anomalies, highlighting its potential advantages that it can achieve for enhancing systems of surveillance. © The Author(s) 2025.

Healthcare systems nowadays depend on IoT sensors for sending data over the internet as a common *** ofmedical images is very important to secure patient *** these images consumes a lot of time onedge computing;therefore,theuse of anauto-encoder for compressionbefore encodingwill solve such a *** this paper,we use an auto-encoder to compress amedical image before encryption,and an encryption output(vector)is sent out over the *** the other hand,a decoder was used to reproduce the original image back after the vector was received and *** convolutional neural networks were conducted to evaluate our proposed approach:The first one is the auto-encoder,which is utilized to compress and encrypt the images,and the other assesses the classification accuracy of the image after decryption and *** hyperparameters of the encoder were tested,followed by the classification of the image to verify that no critical information was lost,to test the encryption and encoding *** this approach,sixteen hyperparameter permutations are utilized,but this research discusses three main cases in *** first case shows that the combination of Mean Square Logarithmic Error(MSLE),ADAgrad,two layers for the auto-encoder,and ReLU had the best auto-encoder results with a Mean Absolute Error(MAE)=0.221 after 50 epochs and 75%classification with the best result for the classification *** second case shows the reflection of auto-encoder results on the classification results which is a combination ofMean Square Error(MSE),RMSprop,three layers for the auto-encoder,and ReLU,which had the best classification accuracy of 65%,the auto-encoder gives MAE=0.31 after 50 *** third case is the worst,which is the combination of the hinge,RMSprop,three layers for the auto-encoder,and ReLU,providing accuracy of 20%and MAE=0.485.

Obstacle removal in crowd evacuation is critical to safety and the evacuation system efficiency. Recently, manyresearchers proposed game theoreticmodels to avoid and remove obstacles for crowd evacuation. Game theoreticalmodels aim to study and analyze the strategic behaviors of individuals within a crowd and their interactionsduring the evacuation. Game theoretical models have some limitations in the context of crowd evacuation. Thesemodels consider a group of individuals as homogeneous objects with the same goals, involve complex mathematicalformulation, and cannot model real-world scenarios such as panic, environmental information, crowds that movedynamically, etc. The proposed work presents a game theoretic model integrating an agent-based model to removethe obstacles from exits. The proposed model considered the parameters named: (1) obstacle size, length, andwidth, (2) removal time, (3) evacuation time, (4) crowd density, (5) obstacle identification, and (6) route *** proposed work conducts various experiments considering different conditions, such as obstacle types, obstacleremoval, and several obstacles. Evaluation results show the proposed model’s effectiveness compared with existingliterature in reducing the overall evacuation time, cell selection, and obstacle removal. The study is potentially usefulfor public safety situations such as emergency evacuations during disasters and calamities.

A novel binary quantizer for variational autoencoder-based image compressor

Neural network-based encoder and decoder are one of the emerging techniques for image compression. To improve the compression rate, these models use a special module called the quantizer that improves the entropy of the generated representation. Here, we propose a novel binary quantizer and an auxiliary support module known as the remapper that co-ordinate for better compression and decompression of an image. The proposed quantizer generates the compressed binary representation whereas the remapper aids in minimizing the reconstruction error during decompression. The combined optimization of the model consisting of the encoder, quantizer, remapper, and the decoder as a single entity is not feasible due to the non-differentiable nature of the quantizer. To mitigate this, we propose a step-by-step training process wherein the encoder and decoder are trained first, then keeping the encoder parameters fixed, the remapper is trained along with the decoder to obtain a fully optimized model. The training is performed with different types of images and the results are compared to understand the best training procedures. Experimental results reveal that the proposed model can compress a (Formula presented.) image to a mere 256 bits, thereby achieving a compression ratio of 6144:1;with excellent perceptual reconstruction during decompression. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Comprehensive study on object detection for security and surveillance: A concise review

In recent years, object detection (OD) has become essential in computer vision for identifying and localizing objects in digital images, prompting various sectors to adopt this technology. However, increased reliance on OD has also revealed vulnerabilities to attacks, highlighting the need for effective detection methods to mitigate potential risks. Therefore, the present paper primarily surveys existing studies on OD in the context of security and surveillance, highlighting its significance in these critical areas. The discussion includes an examination of conventional techniques such as HOG, DPM, and the Viola‒Jones detector. While these traditional methods have laid the groundwork for object detection, they are often considered inadequate because of their time-consuming and labor-intensive nature. Consequently, the focus shifts to DL (deep learning)-based OD models such as YOLO (you only look once), single shot detector (SSD), and Fast R-CNN. Among these, the present survey paper emphasizes YOLO models for their speed and efficiency, as they utilize a unified architecture for both region proposal and classification, making them particularly suitable for real-time applications. However, the distinguishing feature of the proposed survey lies in its comprehensive coverage, which not only encompasses YOLO models but also integrates an analysis of generative AI (GenAI) models and metaheuristic approaches. This multifaceted exploration allows for a richer understanding of the current landscape in computer vision and AI, highlighting the synergies and potential applications that arise from combining these diverse methodologies. Furthermore, the paper explores a wide range of applications for OD in real-time security and surveillance settings, illustrating its effectiveness in addressing contemporary security challenges.
