Solar-driven carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)provides an oppor tunity to produce value-added chemical feedstocks and ***,achieving efficient and stable photoelectrochemical(PEC)CO_(2)RR into selec tive products is challenging owing to the difficulties associated with the optical and the electrical configuration of PEC devices and electrocatalyst ***,we construct an efficient,concentrated sunlight-driven CO_(2)RR setup consisting of InGaP/GaAs/Ge triple-junction cell as a photoanode and oxide-derived Au(Ox-Au)as a cathode to perform the unassisted PEC CO_(2)*** one-sun illumination,a maximum operating current density of 11.5 mA cm^(-2) with an impressive Faradaic efficiency(FE)of~98%is achieved for carbon monoxide(CO)production,leading to a solar-to-fuel conversion efficiency of~15%.Under concentrated intensity of 10 sun,the photoanode records a maximum current density of~124 mAcm^(-2) and maintains~60%of FE for CO *** results demonstrate crucial advancements in usingⅢ-Ⅴbased photoanodes for concentrated PEC CO_(2)RR.

An Improved High Gain Continuous Input Current Quadratic Boost Converter for Next-Generation Sustainable Energy Application

With the rapid transformation from fossil fuel-based energy systems to renewable-based energy systems the application of a high gain boost DC-DC converter is becoming the main attraction due to its wide range of numerous applications. This specific study presents an improved high gain non isolated quadratic boost DC-DC converter (QBC) with voltage gain three times of the quadratic boost converter. The proposed non-isolated category topology is the modified version of the quadratic boost converter where the 2nd inductor of the QBC is replaced by a voltage multiplier cell (VMC) and a switch capacitor network is integrated with the VMC to increase the voltage gain as well as to reduce the switch's voltage stress. Moreover, the continuous input current and common ground feature of this proposed circuit configuration have shaped its potential application by making it advantageous over other non-isolated based high gain boost converters. To support its feasibility a rated power of 150 W prototype is developed after validating the results by Plecs software. The voltage gain offered by this proposed circuit configuration is justified by experimental results and the software simulation. A comprehensive analysis and components design is also formulated and documented in this brief. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Corrosion Inhibition Efficiency of Biosynthesized Silver Nanoparticles Using Citrus aurantium Peels Extract

Corrosion is a detrimental persistent industrial conundrum that can cause the failure of operating equipment and weakening of construction assemblies, thus threatening the lives of humans, and accelerating the consumption of the natural metals reservoirs. In this study, we deployed green silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel. Citrus aurantium peels aqueous extract (CAPE) mediated the bio-reduction of silver ions (Ag+) into silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) under optimized experimental conditions. The prepared nanoparticles were comprehensively characterized by various techniques for size, morphology, optical properties, crystallinity, and elemental composition. Phytochemical analysis showed that the plant extract is rich in phenolic compounds that facilitated the formation of metallic silver from Ag+ ions. The anticorrosion properties of CAPE and CAPE-AgNPs for mild steel in 0.5 M HCl were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The biosynthesized CAPE-AgNPs were more efficient than CAPE in slowing down corrosion with inhibition efficiency of 70% attained at 1000 ppm of the inhibitor. CAPE and CAPE-AgNPs acted as mixed-type corrosion inhibitors with dominance over the cathodic reaction. Fitting the experimental data into different isotherms demonstrated that the corrosion inhibition was an endothermic process that took place through physical adsorption. CAPE-AgNPs significantly reduced pitting and localized damage on the metal surface. These findings highlighted the utility of CAPE-AgNPs as efficient corrosion inhibitors in different industrial settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Herein, a low-cost and readily available sodium aluminate (NaAlO2) was used as a solid base catalyst for the depolymerization of polycarbonate (PC) via methanolysis in the presence of tetrahydrofuran (THF) as a solvent. NaAlO2 was highly active for the reaction, and the performance was comparable to that of soluble strong base SrO and much higher than those of MgO and CaO. By the reaction over the catalyst, a highly pure and crystalline bisphenol A (BPA) was obtained. Among tested organic solvents, THF was the best in aiding PC methanolysis over NaAlO2 due to the polarity similar to PC according to Hansen solubility parameters (HSPs). At 60 °C, 98.1% PC conversion and 96.8% BPA yield were achieved within just 2 h. NaAlO2 was reusable without any severe catalyst deactivation in at least four runs. The mechanistic study revealed that the reaction proceeded via the methoxide pathway, with THF aiding the dissolution of PC. The reaction over NaAlO2 possessed a low apparent activation energy (Ea) of 75.1 kJ mol-1, which is the lowest ever reported so far for the reaction over solid catalysts. © 2024 The Authors. Technological advancements are increasingly evident across various sectors, including automobiles, industry, and healthcare. In precision agriculture, significant progress has been made, with AgroTICs and Smart Agriculture gaining substantial traction in the market. However, a gap remains between cutting-edge technology and family farming, presenting a challenge from both social and applied research perspectives. However, there is still a gap between cutting-edge technology and family farming, which creates a challenge from a social and applied research point of view. In this context, this paper proposes a monitoring model based on Fuzzy Logic and sensor automation applied to estimate the health of a corn crop. The proposed Fuzzy inference system involves calculating an indicator of nutrients as well as the average color and area of corn plants. The nutrient indicator is automatically computed by an ESP32 microcontroller using sensor readings, while the average color and area inputs are manually entered via a mobile application. Additionally, the Fuzzy inference is integrated into the ESP32. The model underwent experimental validation on the health of the plantation, and the results were evaluated in four areas: one was designated for testing, and three were for validation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.5% in Scenario 3, categorized as 'Very Favorable', and an accuracy of 65% in Scenarios 2 and 4, categorized as 'Unfavorable'. The implications of this research contribute to the advancement of AgroTICs among small producers, with the potential to enhance and automate the monitoring of their harvest production. © 2024 IEEE.

IT/OT convergence in the form of a Cyber-Physical System (CPS) presents an opportunity to apply recent Information Technology (IT) advancements to Operational Technology (OT). The IT/OT convergence introduces cyber security threats for OT. The OT communication protocols, for example, have limited or no security capabilities for securing data exchange beyond basic authentication. The RNG (Random Number Generator) function is crucial in PLC for producing the encryption keys or the initial seed for security algorithms. The software-based PRNG (Pseudo RNG) is the most common approach for RNG in OT, instead of hardware-based RNG. This study provides a systematic literature review of the most recent evidence in digital transformation to secure data exchange in smart factories, within OT, or across OT and IT settings. It does this by looking at the PRNG on PLC and identifying the most recent trends and best practices. The findings include up-to-date data on author countries' distribution, published journals, research trends, industries, and industry types. The findings also address whether data flow is encrypted or shared in plaintext to ensure secure data transfer between IT and legacy OT environments. This paper concludes that while there is known RNG implementation in the actual embedded system in ICS, there is no evidence in the literature for using RNG in ICS networks for PLC implementation to secure data transfer with encryption. © 2024 IEEE.

Speech recognition and response system technology in service robot research continues to evolve alongside technical advances and the increasing demand for intelligent automation across industries. The development of machine learning, digital signal processing, and artificial neural networks has brought significant advancements to speech recognition systems. While speech recognition has been implemented in various systems, there is limited discussion on categorizing these systems by examining four aspects: speech recognition applications, datasets used, emotional speech recognition, and automatic speech recognition. In this study, a review of these four aspects is conducted, focusing on the algorithms and methods used, along with their advantages and disadvantages, particularly in the context of implementing them in service robots using the Indonesian language. This study involves a literature review of 100 research papers from the last five years. The review concludes that the use of the transformer method combined with other techniques and Indonesian language datasets is still very limited. Therefore, future research will focus on developing and implementing these methods in humanoid service robots. © 2024 IEEE.

The precise detection of cephalometric landmarks on two-dimensional (2D) radiographs or three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT) images is a fundamental step in various medical fields, especially in research on orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery. Deep learning-based detectors have demonstrated remarkable accuracy in 2D cephalometric analysis, whereas conventional single-view approaches are limited by their reliance on information from a single perspective. This study proposes GeoRefineNet, a novel multistage framework that leverages information from multiple CT scans acquired at various angles. By incorporating geometric knowledge through a 3D heatmap reconstruction process, GeoRefineNet improves robustness, accuracy, and adaptability to various cephalometric configurations. The proposed framework predicts 3D landmark positions on CT images, effectively addressing challenges associated with high-dimensional input data and limited training examples. GeoRefineNet surpasses the existing state-of-the-art models in the 2D and 3D domains, as demonstrated by its superior performance on numerical and clinical datasets. These findings indicate that GeoRefineNet offers a promising avenue for improving the accuracy and reliability of cephalometric landmark detection fostering further advances in clinical diagnosis and treatment planning.
