The article presents the issue of scale deposits in sanitary installations. Scale contributes to improper operation of sanitary devices and leads to their degradation. Scale build-up in pipes and measuring elements results in higher water consumption due to inaccurate estimation of this resource consumption. The consequence is that devices based on process automation do not work properly due to disturbances in the actual water flow. The formation of deposits also leads to economic and ecological losses, as sanitary installations elements have to be replaced, which affects the increased use of raw materials and the generation of waste. This is not in line with current trends and global objectives related to circular economy. Scale also results in increased energy consumption and reduced energy efficiency. This is due to the resistance of the flows and the increased work of the pumps. Scale has insulating properties, which results in less efficient heat transfer. In this stady, a mathematical model was developed to detect the formation of scale deposits in sanitary installations. On this basis, it is possible to control the quality status of sanitary installation components. In this way, by taking appropriate action at an early stage of the formation of deposits, it can extend the life of the installation. Having information on scale deposits, it will help avoid wasting water and lead to more accurate measurement of water flows. This is important for the proper operation of devices such as heat pumps, where their operation is automated and requires precise measurements of the energy processes taking place. Scale is a significant problem for households, and also for factories or public institutions that are exposed to hard water environments. © 2021 International Multidisciplinary Scientific Geoconference. The history of the use of mines dates back almost two centuries. The geography of their use and the associated social harm have made them, without exaggeration, a global problem. At the same time, searches were underway for safe methods of their neutralization using various technical means. In so doing, until now, none of the existing methods provides a 100% guarantee of cleaning the territory, which determines the purpose of finding innovative methods and the possibility of combining them with existing ones. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are becoming a real modern breakthrough in the field of intellectual achievements. Obtaining optimal results when solving a wide range of different problems, together with the development of composite materials, software, and the latest navigation equipment, make the tasks assigned to them and the expected results more and more difficult. UAVs allow people not to be in life-threatening conditions, to conduct activities beyond their physiological and psychophysiological abilities. The combination of the ability to collect spatial data during flight in various ranges of remote sensing with the possibility of carrying variants of useful equipment opens up prospects for their use in the field of demining territories. Supplementing UAV technologies with modern information systems for processing and analysis of information (expert systems, machine learning, computational intelligence, distributed artificial intelligence, neural networks, etc.), including spatial (GIS), opens up great prospects in the field of humanitarian demining of territories. © 2024, The Authors. In this work, the issue of moving object detection, classification, and tracking in both visual-infrared images and video streams is considered. The proposed system utilizing deep learning-based You Look Only Once -version3 (YOLOv3) algorithm as multilayers of CNN model, OpenCV, and CAMEL dataset and collected dataset as video sequence of a visual-infrared dataset. The proposed object detector system pre-trained on the dataset for streaming videos and different sizes and types of images as visual_ thermal as RGB images of different object classes and carried out by Python codes. The first part of the proposed system is to make the object or person detection and surround it by rectangle box, the center of the detected person is then specified in the second part, finally, calculate the relative accuracy of detected person and added it to the rectangle box. The obtained results proved the success of the proposed system in achieving objects detection, classification, and tracking within visual-infrared surveillance scenarios and gave satisfactory results with high accuracy.

The recent progress in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) technology has significantly advanced UAV-based applications for military, civil, and commercial domains. Nevertheless, the challenges of establishing high-speed communication links, flexible control strategies, and developing efficient collaborative decision-making algorithms for a swarm of UAVs limit their autonomy, robustness, and reliability. Thus, a growing focus has been witnessed on collaborative communication to allow a swarm of UAVs to coordinate and communicate autonomously for the cooperative completion of tasks in a short time with improved efficiency and reliability. This work presents a comprehensive review of collaborative communication in a multi-UAV system. We thoroughly discuss the characteristics of intelligent UAVs and their communication and control requirements for autonomous collaboration and coordination. Moreover, we review various UAV collaboration tasks, summarize the applications of UAV swarm networks for dense urban environments and present the use case scenarios to highlight the current developments of UAV-based applications in various domains. Finally, we identify several exciting future research direction that needs attention for advancing the research in collaborative UAVs. © 2023, CC BY.

In this paper we present a hybrid feedback approach to solve the navigation problem of a point mass in the n−dimensional space containing an arbitrary number of ellipsoidal shape obstacles. The proposed hybrid control algorithm guarantees both global asymptotic stabilization to a reference and avoidance of the obstacles. The intuitive idea of the proposed hybrid feedback is to switch between two modes of control: stabilization and avoidance. The geometric construction of the flow and jump sets of the proposed hybrid controller, exploiting hysteresis regions, guarantees Zeno-free switching between the stabilization and the avoidance modes. Simulation results illustrate the performance of the proposed hybrid control approach for 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional scenarios. © 2021, CC BY.

An important issue in quadcopter control is that an accurate dynamic model of the system is nonlinear, complex, and costly to obtain. This limits achievable control performance in practice. Gaussian process (GP) based estimation is an effective tool to learn unknown dynamics from input/output data. However, conventional GP-based control methods often ignore the computational cost associated with accumulating data during the operation of the system and how to handle forgetting in continuous adaption. In this paper, we present a novel Dual Gaussian Process (DGP) based model predictive control strategy that improves the performance of a quadcopter during trajectory tracking. The bio-inspired DGP structure is a combination of a long-term GP and a short-term GP, where the long-term GP is used to keep the learned knowledge in memory and the short-term GP is employed to rapidly compensate unknown dynamics during online operation. Furthermore, a novel recursive online update strategy for the short-term GP is proposed to successively improve the learnt model during online operation in an efficient way. The growing complexity of real-world systems necessitates interdisciplinary solutions to confront myriad challenges in modeling, analysis, management, and control. To meet these demands, the parallel systems method rooted in Artificial systems, Computational experiments, and Parallel execution (ACP) approach has been developed. The method cultivates a cycle, termed parallel intelligence, which iteratively creates data, acquires knowledge, and refines the actual system. Over the past two decades, the parallel systems method has continuously woven advanced knowledge and technologies from various disciplines, offering versatile interdisciplinary solutions for complex systems across diverse fields. This review explores the origins and fundamental concepts of the parallel systems method, showcasing its accomplishments as a diverse array of parallel technologies and applications, while also prognosticating potential challenges. Optimal convergence rates of totally asynchronous optimization

Asynchronous optimization algorithms are at the core of modern machine learning and resource allocation systems. However, most convergence results consider bounded information delays and several important algorithms lack guarantees when they operate under total asynchrony. In this paper, we derive explicit convergence rates for the proximal incremental aggregated gradient (PIAG) and the asynchronous block-coordinate descent (Async-BCD) methods under a specific model of total asynchrony, and show that the derived rates are order-optimal. The convergence bounds provide an insightful understanding of how the growth rate of the delays deteriorates the convergence times of the algorithms. Energy resilience in renewable energy sources dissemination components such as batteries and inverters is crucial for achieving high operational fidelity. Resilience factors play a vital role in determining the performance of power systems, regardless of their operating environment and interruptions. This article introduces a Unified Resilience Model (URM) using Deep Learning (DL) to enhance power system performance. The proposed model analyzes environmental factors impacting the resilience of batteries and energy storage devices. This deep learning approach trains performance-impacting factors using previously known low resilience drain data. The learning output is utilized to augment various strengthening factors, thereby improving resilience. Drain mitigation and performance improvements are combined for direct impact verification. This process validates the model's fidelity in enhancing power system performance, with a specific focus on the impact of weather factors. © 2025 The Authors
