One of the areas of information security of electronic systems is the physical protection of information. Includes techniques for maintaining the integrity of electrical information signals in electronic systems at the physical level and reducing electromagnetic emissions. Differential transmission of electrical signals is one of the most promising areas for building high-speed electronic systems from the point of view of physical information protection. To transmit such signals on printed circuit boards, a differential pair are used - two transmission lines with a strong coupling between them. In practice today, each line is a conventional coplanar, stripline, or microstrip transmission line. This article discusses a new type of communication lines on printed circuit boards in the form of twisted pairs. Structurally, the twisted pair is implemented in two layers of a multilayer printed circuit board using vias. The article analyzes distortions of information signals in connections of multilayer printed circuit boards in the form of twisted pairs. The results are compared with the distortion of information signals in coplanar interconnects.

Many modern information processing and control systems are based on computer vision technologies. In such systems, a number of tasks are solved, including the task of primary image processing. The primary processing is designed to transform the geometric, brightness and color characteristics of images, ensuring that they are brought to the best possible appearance for further analysis. Brightness conversion must be performed to implement image enhancement and restoration procedures. Threshold wavelet filtering is the basis of one of the frequently used approaches for solving these problems. To build the appropriate procedures in this article, it is proposed to use a weight model of the image. This model allows us to obtain estimates of the significance of the contribution of pixels to the total energy of the analyzed image. © 2023 IEEE.

The description of an experimental automated system of semantic design of (machine-building) products is given. In general, the proposed process of product design is considered stepwise: 1) technical creativity, 2) compilation of expert descriptions of professional product subject areas, 3) automatic synthesis of structural and parametric product properties and, finally, 4) synthesis of product form. The article focuses on the implementation of the second and third stages. Screen forms with explanations of data entry are given. The second stage is performed by professional subject matter experts: designers, technologists, material scientists, strength and design specialists, etc. The corresponding ontological descriptions of the subject areas are compiled. It is assumed that this knowledge will be taken into account when synthesizing the structural and parametric properties of the designed products. The third stage of the technology is carried out by the engineer. His main task is to come up with a name for the product and match it with the main design concept. Additionally, he can adjust the data ranges entered in the ontologies. Such actions also increase the efficiency of the automated system, reducing the search space for permissible parametric properties of the product. © 2022 SPIE

In this article, methods for determining significant features, as well as forecasting methods for optimizing oil drilling, were considered, their advantages and disadvantages were determined. To identify the most significant features that affect the amount of oil produced, feature selection was carried out based on correlation analysis, as well as comparison and identification of effective neural network training methods. As a result, the BRANN (artificial neural network with Bayesian regularization) method was chosen, as it showed the best results with a relatively short training time. Thus, the neural network was trained to predict the amount of oil produced from oil wells. © 2022 IEEE.

Existing brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies used to improve the quality of life or rehabilitation of patients with motor disorders have a number of drawbacks, such as recorded signal instability during long-term use due to habituation, as well as relatively low information transfer rate. A possible alternative is the use of hybrid BCIs, particularly those based on an eyetracker. However, their widespread distribution for home use application limits the cost of such a complex. This paper describes an approach to developing an eye-brain-computer interface prototype. To test the developed prototype of eye-brain-computer interface (EBCI) complex an experimental study was performed involving 3 healthy subjects with synchronous EEG and an eyetracker signal recording. Stimulus frequency and target stimulus coordinates were varied. Evoked potential P300 parameters and eyetracker spatial errors during fixations on the monitor's reference points, as well as EEG and eyetracker synchronization accuracy were evaluated. As a result, P300 of typical shape was identified in 3 subjects. It was concluded that it is possible to use EBCI and further modify the synchronization algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

The problem of the application of the multithreshold approach in the machine learning and the neural computation is considered in the paper. We design the model of hybrid 2-layer neural network whose hidden layer consists of bithreshold neural units and employs the winner-take-all computing principle. This model can be useful in the solving regression problems. The model-based approach to the supervised learning of such networks is proposed. Two hyperparameters of the learning algorithm allow to adjust the approximation capability of the network and to tune its ability to generalization. We present the simulation results on the benchmark dataset, which confirm that proposed learning procedure yields the bithreshold neural network that is suitable to make predictions when working with real-world data.

In the article we have investigated and studied the available types of filtration. The scientific novelty of this study is the proposed method of the highest quality image filtering in rainy weather. Based on the results of this study, we implemented computer programs for studying filters, and conducted a comparative analysis of the results of using various nonlinear methods to clean images from noise. We evaluated the possibilities of using these filters during rain. The main operations of mathematical morphology are build up, erosion, closure and opening. These names reflect the essence of the operations. So, the build-up increases the image area. The erosion makes it smaller. The closure operation allows you to close the internal openings of the area and eliminate the bays along the border of the area. The opening operation helps to get rid of small fragments protruding outside the area near its border. © 2022 IEEE.

We treat the problem of the evaluation of the memory capacity sufficient to store all weights and thresholds of a multithreshold neural network without loss of its capability to recognize set of patterns in n-dimensional space. We give the bounds on the magnitude of the integer weight and threshold vectors, respectively, of a multithreshold neuron, which hold for binary-valued neurons as well as multi-valued ones. The refinement of these bounds in the case of binary inputs is also presented. It allows us to evaluate the memory capacity of the multithreshold network. The estimation of average memory capacity for such networks is also considered. We established O(n2 + kn) lower bound on the capacity of the memory that is necessary to store weight coefficients and thresholds of almost all k-threshold neural units proceeding with k-threshold Boolean functions.

Hydropower plants play a major role in the global energy sector, generating up to 17% of all energy generated. Despite this, the spread of small hydropower is not as extensive, although it has an extremely large potential and is a competitive renewable energy source, as small hydropower plants have high efficiencies of up to 80%. The implementation of such energy complexes requires a preliminary assessment of their efficiency, for which atlases and data from existing GIS systems are most often used, but they may not have information on the potential of small rivers and streams, and do not allow for seasonal changes in the water landscape, which is particularly pronounced in mountainous terrain. Therefore, this paper proposes to examine the process of developing a small generating station suitable for use on small streams in mountainous terrain, which can be used as a means to collect data on the energy production profile of small mountain streams, which will help to establish seasonal dependencies and balance the energy system, achieving sustainable energy production through the involvement of other generation sources.
