Software Defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging networking paradigm with the potential to foster innovation through programmable networks. SDNs are characterized by the separation of control and data planes where, in a logically centralized controller, it’s possible to make routing decisions on behalf of forwarding elements. For this, there are different protocols used like Open Flow, Forward and control Element Separation (FORCES), Path Computation Element Protocol (PCEP), Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF), and Interface to Routing System (IRS). Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is one such protocol that can enable the network programmability promised by SDNs. The controllers used in BGP as control plane protocol leverages RESTCONF (RFC 8040) as management plane protocol to interact with physical routers, switches, and network service firewalls. Therefore, the aim of this work is to improve the performance of SDN controllers using BGP enabling a multi-vendor environment without requiring infrastructure upgrade showcasing how interoperability can be achieved. The proposed system is implemented using OpenDaylight controllers. The performance of the prototype is evaluated using Latency, Throughput, CPU consumption, and TTL (Time to Live). Based on the simulation results it is observed that the SDN controllers that use BGP show improvements in terms of Latency and Throughput. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

An unavoidable but reusable waste so as to enhance a more circular waste utilization has been spent potlining(SPL) generated by the aluminum *** combustion mechanisms, evolved gasses, and ash properties of SPL were characterized dynamically in response to the elevated temperature and heating *** scanning calorimetric(DSC) results indicated an exothermic reaction behavior probably able to meet the energy needs of various industrial *** reaction mechanisms for the SPL combustion were best described using the 1.5-, 3-and 2.5-order reaction *** volatilization rate of the flue gas was estimated at 2.24%.The SPL combustion emitted CO_(2), HNCO, NO, and NO_(2) but SO_(x).The joint optimization of remaining mass, derivative thermogravimetry, and derivative DSC was achieved with the optimal temperature and heating rate combination of 783.5 ℃, and 5 ℃/min, *** between temperature and heating rate exerted the strongest and weakest impact on DSC and remaining mass, *** fluorine mainly as the formation of substantial NaF and CaF_(2) in the residual ***,the composition and effect of environment of residual solid were *** ash slagging tendency and its mineral deposition mechanisms were elucidated in terms of turning SPL waste into a benign input to a circular waste utilization.

In order for higher levels of autonomous driving to be achieved, the demanding environmental perception and decision-making algorithms are developed. Meeting real-time system requirements is a mandatory task for all of these algorithms to be properly utilized. In order to meet these requirements, GPUs are widely used, and one of the biggest challenges is providing the deterministic scheduling of different tasks on GPU based on their priority classes. The complete determinism which ensures the absolute control of processes on GPU has still not been achieved. In this paper, we propose and evaluate one method that allows scheduling of tasks with different types of time constraints. © 2021 IEEE.

Smart precision agriculture utilizes modern information and wireless communication technologies to achieve challenging agricultural ***,Internet of Things(IoT)technology can be applied to monitor and detect harmful insect pests such as red palm weevils(RPWs)in the farms of date palm *** this paper,we propose a new IoT-based framework for early sound detection of RPWs using fine-tuned transfer learning classifier,namely *** sound sensors,namely TreeVibes devices are carefully mounted on each palm trunk to setup wireless sensor networks in the *** trees are labeled based on the sensor node number to identify the infested ***,the acquired audio signals are sent to a cloud server for further on-line analysis by our fine-tuned deep transfer learning model,i.e.,*** proposed infestation classifier has been successfully validated on the public TreeVibes *** includes total short recordings of 1754 samples,such that the clean and infested signals are 1754 and 731 samples,*** to other deep learning models in the literature,our proposed InceptionResNet-V2 classifier achieved the best performance on the public database of TreeVibes audio *** resulted classification accuracy score was 97.18%.Using 10-fold cross validation,the fine-tuned InceptionResNet-V2 achieved the best average accuracy score and standard deviation of 94.53%and±1.69,*** the proposed intelligent IoT-aided detection system of RPWs in date palm farms is the main prospect of this research work.

The Impact of Recommendation Systems on Opinion Dynamics: Microscopic versus Macroscopic Effects

Recommendation systems are widely used in web services, such as social networks and e-commerce platforms, to serve personalized content to the users and, thus, enhance their experience. While personalization assists users in navigating through the available options, there have been growing concerns regarding its repercussions on the users and their opinions. Examples of negative impacts include the emergence of filter bubbles and the amplification of users’ confirmation bias, which can cause opinion polarization and radicalization. In this paper, we study the impact of recommendation systems on users, both from a microscopic (i.e., at the level of individual users) and a macroscopic (i.e., at the level of a homogenous population) perspective. Specifically, we build on recent work on the interactions between opinion dynamics and recommendation systems to propose a model for this closed loop, which we then study both analytically and numerically. Among others, our analysis reveals that shifts in the opinions of individual users do not always align with shifts in the opinion distribution of the population. In particular, even in settings where the opinion distribution appears unaltered (e.g., measured via surveys across the population), the opinion of individual users might be significantly distorted by the recommendation system. © 2023, CC BY.

A comparative study on modeling a fluid catalytic cracking unit using different variations of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network is presented in this paper. The study includes Stacked LSTM, Bidirectional LSTM, Convolutional neural network - LSTM (CNN-LSTM), and Encoder-Decoder LSTM. Furthermore, a decentralized neural network architecture is proposed, in which each subunit of FCC is modeled by a separate neural network and then integrated into a single network. The hyperparameters of each neural network topology are optimized to get the most accurate results. Then a comparison is carried out based on means square error and R² score of products forecasting. Results show the superiority of the proposed neural network over the other networks in terms of accuracy. However, at the expense of an increase in training time. © 2023, The Authors. Lightweight deep convolutional neural networks(CNNs)present a good solution to achieve fast and accurate image-guided diagnostic procedures of COVID-19 ***,advantages of portable Ultrasound(US)imaging such as simplicity and safe procedures have attracted many radiologists for scanning suspected COVID-19 *** this paper,a new framework of lightweight deep learning classifiers,namely COVID-LWNet is proposed to identify COVID-19 and pneumonia abnormalities in US *** to traditional deep learning models,lightweight CNNs showed significant performance of real-time vision applications by using mobile devices with limited hardware *** main lightweight deep learning models,namely MobileNets,ShuffleNets,MENet and MnasNet have been proposed to identify the health status of lungs using US *** image dataset(POCUS)was used to validate our proposed COVID-LWNet framework *** classes of infectious COVID-19,bacterial pneumonia,and the healthy lung were investigated in this *** results showed that the performance of our proposed MnasNet classifier achieved the best accuracy score and shortest training time of 99.0%and 647.0 s,*** paper demonstrates the feasibility of using our proposed COVID-LWNet framework as a new mobilebased radiological tool for clinical diagnosis of COVID-19 and other lung diseases.
