Full life-cycle cost model for practical application of solar energy system

In pursuit of carbon neutrality, a swift transformation is underway in the global energy structure, marked by a consistent rise in the installed capacity of solar energy systems. Meanwhile, the substantial reduction of government subsidies in the solar industry intensifies focus on the economic viability of solar energy installations. In this study, we propose a full life-cycle cost model, named the F-LCC model, for calculating the cost of the solar energy system on the long term, e.g., 20–30 years. This model integrates replacement costs, residual value calculation, interest rate, and inflation impacts while supporting market price estimation for individual components, thereby aiding feasibility analysis in the early project phase. We design an investment cost recovery algorithm based on the F-LCC model to calculate the break-even electricity price for solar energy system. Moreover, we analyze component cost distributions, Net Present Value (NPV), and Discounted Payback Period (DPP) for grid-connected and off-grid solar energy systems with capacities of 10 kWp and 100 kWp in the Chinese market. The results show that the proposed model, compared to other models, captures the fact that payback times are longer. In a solar energy system without storage, solar panels have the highest component cost share at 28.8%. With battery storage, batteries dominate the total cost, reaching up to 74.6%. And the the grid-connected systems DPP ranging from a minimum of 5.5 to a maximum of 7.0 years by grid-connected electricity price, while off-grid systems require at least 19.9 years. The 10 kWp off-grid fixed mounting system’s break-even price being 137.1% higher than its grid-connected counterpart. In addition, tracking-mount systems offer greater cost-reduction potential than fixed installations, with the payback period reduced by 20% for 100 kWp grid-connected systems and 15% for off-grid systems. Towards Dynamic Reconfiguration of Composite Services Via Failure Estimation of General and Domain Quality of Services

Composite services (CSs) are large-grained services composed of simple ones to satisfy users’ complex requirements. A major issue concerning a CS is that the general quality of service (GQoS) and the domain quality of service (DQoS) of its component services often fail for environment changes. To tackle this problem, we propose an approach for dynamic reconfiguration of CSs by considering both GQoS and DQoS failures. Our approach includes three stages: at the first stage, we estimate the failure judgement basis of GQoS and DQoS for each component services based on global GQoS decomposition and statistical method. At the second stage, during the execution of a CS, we proactively estimate whether the component services to be executed will encounter GQoS or DQoS failure based on GQoS and DQoS joint *** the third stage, when the component service to be executed encounters GQoS or DQoS failure, we reconfigure the CS by replacing the failed component service with a best-matched similar service, while the predicted GQoS and DQoS of the matched service can satisfy the local GQoS and DQoS constraints of the failed component services. the article is devoted to solving the problems of synthesis of algorithmic support of the decision support system for the controlled destruction of resin vulcanizates of butyl rubber. As an object of research, the destruction processes have been selected, which are carried out by combining external destructive factors: ionization irradiation and subsequent thermomechanical treatment. Based on the results of the system analysis of the destruction process stages as control objects, the main and cross system connections between the input, internal parameters of the process and the physical properties of the final product have been revealed. The most preferred channels for controlling the rate of physical and chemical processes occurring during destruction have been selected. Using a combination of control actions, a method and an algorithm for controlling the stages of destruction has been proposed, which allows for programmed control of the operating parameters of the process to obtain reclaimed butyl rubber with target quality indicators. The structural synthesis of the mathematical support of the decision support system, which calculates the optimal values of the process parameters in accordance with the formed search criteria, has been carried out. An algorithm for controlling the destruction process has been developed, which calculates the optimal parameters of the process using the mathematical tools, which includes the Choquet integral, the Sugeno fuzzy measure, and a genetic algorithm for solving optimization problems. © 2021 IEEE.

Since the discovery of chaotic oscillations in a nonlinear weather model by Lorenz in 1963, chaotic oscillators, their modelling, and control have received much attention in the literature [1]. [...]the authors describe simulation results for an example of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) with three degrees of freedom to demonstrate the efficacy of the suggested control approach in their research article. A unique feature of the proposed model is that the designed Chen chaotic oscillation system is integrated in a single chip with the advantages of smaller chip area, lower supply voltage, and power consumption.

Zero-shot point cloud classification involves recognizing categories not encountered during training. Current models often exhibit reduced accuracy on unseen categories without 3D pre-training, emphasizing the need for improved precision and interoperability. We propose a novel approach that integrates differentiable rendering with contrastive language–image pre-training. Initially, differentiable rendering autonomously learns representative viewpoints from the data, enablingthe transformation of point clouds into multi-view images while preserving key visual information. This transformation facilitates optimized viewpoint selection during training, refining the final feature representation. Features are extracted from the multi-view images and integrated into a global multi-view feature using a merge-attention mechanism. On the textual side, a large language model(LLM) is provided with 3D heuristic prompts to generate 3D-specific text reflecting category-specific traits, from which textual features are derived. The LLM’s extensive pre-trained knowledge enables it to capture abstract notions and categorical features relevant to distinct point cloud categories. Visual and textual features are aligned in a unified embedding space, enabling zero-shot classification. Throughout training, the Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) is integrated into the loss function to encourage the model to discern more distinctive viewpoints, reduce redundancy in multi-view imagery, and enhance computational efficiency. Experimental results on the ModelNet10, ModelNet40, and ScanObjectNN datasets demonstrate classification accuracies of 74.48%, 65.28%,and 51.15%, respectively, surpassing prevailing methods in zero-shot point cloud classification accuracy. © 2024, The Authors. The rapid developments of artificial intelligent (AI) is being transformed for its extensive use-cases, people-centered intelligent systems focusing on care delivery, research encounter complex problems related to improve the overall infrastructure and management of intelligent delivery service;for instance, bringing transformation in healthcare sector for monitoring patients with chronic disease. Most of these systems are driven by state-of-the-art learning algorithms i.e., Convolution Neural Network. The CNN algorithm is considered to be one of the most prominent architectures of DL. Recently, due to enormous growth in the amount of annotated data and the development of CNN hardware accelerator, further, boost the research on CNN and accomplished benchmark enactment on different applications. This paper presents cutting-edge applications of CNN for an intelligent healthcare system. We provide useful findings of different CNN features such as optimization, fast computation, design, activation function, and loss function. To our knowledge, this is the first comprehensive work to address the recent trends in the architecture of CNN, which offers insight to the underlying problems and provides the potential solutions for any given intelligent healthcare applications. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In this note, we investigate the robustness of Nash equilibria (NE) in multi-player aggregative games with coupling constraints. There are many algorithms for computing an NE of an aggregative game given a known aggregator. When the coupling parameters are affected by uncertainty, robust NE need to be computed. We consider a scenario where players' weight in the aggregator is unknown, making the aggregator kind of "a black box". We pursue a suitable learning approach to estimate the unknown aggregator by proposing an inverse variational inequality-based relationship. We then utilize the counterpart to reconstruct the game and obtain first-order conditions for robust NE in the worst case. Furthermore, we characterize the generalization property of the learning methodology via an upper bound on the violation probability. There are several criteria for building up networks from time series related to different points in geographical space. The most used criterion is the Global-Threshold (GT). Using a weather radar dataset, this paper shows that the Backbone (BB) - a local-threshold criterion - generates networks whose geographical configuration is complementary to the GT networks. We compare the results for two well-known similarities measures: the Pearson Correlation (PC) coefficient and the Mutual Information (MI). The extracted backbone network (miBB), whose number of links is the same as the global MI (miGT), has the lowest average shortest path and presents a small-world effect. Parameterized artificial neural networks (ANNs) can be very expressive ansatzes for variational algorithms, reaching state-of-the-art energies on many quantum many-body Hamiltonians. Nevertheless, the training of the ANN can be slow and stymied by the presence of local minima in the parameter landscape. One approach to mitigate this issue is to use parallel tempering methods, and in this work we focus on the role played by the temperature distribution of the parallel tempering replicas. Using an adaptive method that adjusts the temperatures in order to equate the exchange probability between neighboring replicas, we show that this temperature optimization can significantly increase the success rate of the variational algorithm with negligible computational cost by eliminating bottlenecks in the replicas’ random walk. We demonstrate this using two different neural networks, a restricted Boltzmann machine and a feedforward network, which we use to study a toy problem based on a permutation invariant Hamiltonian with a pernicious local minimum and the J1-J2 model on a rectangular lattice. © 2024, CC BY.

PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are a type of small non-coding RNAs which bind with the PIWI proteins to exert biological effects in various regulatory mechanisms. A growing amount of evidence reveals that exosomal piRNAs are potential biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases. Effective methods for the prediction of exosomal piRNAs are the foundation of piRNA functional research. In this study, we propose an end-to-end deep network for identifying exosomal piRNAs based on features learned from natural language processing (NLP) models for sequence embedding with attention mechanism. First, a benchmark dataset is constructed by processing piRNA subcellular localization annotated data and sequence data. Moreover, bagging positive unlabeled learning is applied to get the reliable negative set. Finally, we treat a piRNA sequence as a sentence and its k-mer subsequence as a token. Sequence embedding models with self-attention mechanism is designed to extract features from exosome piRNA sequences, which are used for the prediction task. Compared with three competing methods, our model achieves the best performance and reveals the key factors of exosomal piRNA sequences by the attention mechanism. Our model characterizes exosomal piRNAs and could be beneficial for researchers to investigate exosomal piRNAs’ functions.
