Dear Editor,This letter is concerned with prescribed-time Nash equilibrium(PTNE)seeking problem in a pursuit-evasion game(PEG)involving agents with second-order *** order to achieve the prior-given and user-defined convergence time for the PEG,a PTNE seeking algorithm has been developed to facilitate collaboration among multiple pursuers for capturing the evader without the need for any global ***,it is theoretically proved that the prescribedtime convergence of the designed algorithm for achieving Nash equilibrium of ***,the effectiveness of the PTNE method was validated by numerical simulation results.A PEG consists of two groups of agents:evaders and *** pursuers aim to capture the evaders through cooperative efforts,while the evaders strive to evade *** is a classic noncooperative *** has attracted plenty of attention due to its wide application scenarios,such as smart grids[1],formation control[2],[3],and spacecraft rendezvous[4].It is noteworthy that most previous research on seeking the Nash equilibrium of the game,where no agent has an incentive to change its actions,has focused on asymptotic and exponential convergence[5]-[7].

The growing field of urban monitoring has increasingly recognized the potential of utilizing autonomous technologies,particularly in drone *** deployment of intelligent drone swarms offers promising solutions for enhancing the efficiency and scope of urban condition *** this context,this paper introduces an innovative algorithm designed to navigate a swarm of drones through urban landscapes for monitoring *** primary challenge addressed by the algorithm is coordinating drone movements from one location to another while circumventing obstacles,such as *** algorithm incorporates three key components to optimize the obstacle detection,navigation,and energy efficiency within a drone ***,the algorithm utilizes a method to calculate the position of a virtual leader,acting as a navigational beacon to influence the overall direction of the ***,the algorithm identifies observers within the swarm based on the current *** further refine obstacle avoidance,the third component involves the calculation of angular velocity using fuzzy *** approach considers the proximity of detected obstacles through operational rangefinders and the target’s location,allowing for a nuanced and adaptable computation of angular *** integration of fuzzy logic enables the drone swarm to adapt to diverse urban conditions dynamically,ensuring practical obstacle *** proposed algorithm demonstrates enhanced performance in the obstacle detection and navigation accuracy through comprehensive *** results suggest that the intelligent obstacle avoidance algorithm holds promise for the safe and efficient deployment of autonomous mobile drones in urban monitoring applications.

In this paper, we present an online reinforcement learning algorithm for constrained Markov decision processes with a safety constraint. Despite the necessary attention of the scientific community, considering stochastic stopping time, the problem of learning optimal policy without violating safety constraints during the learning phase is yet to be addressed. To this end, we propose an algorithm based on linear programming that does not require a process model. We show that the learned policy is safe with high confidence. We also propose a method to compute a safe baseline policy, which is central in developing algorithms that do not violate the safety constraints. Finally, we provide simulation results to show the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. Further, we demonstrate that efficient exploration can be achieved by defining a subset of the state-space called proxy set. © 2024 IEEE.

Skin cancer is one of the most deadly forms of cancer in the world, causing hundreds of deaths every year. Researchers have been developing various computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems to help medical professionals classify the types of skin cancer using different image modalities. In this paper, we propose a model, which combines the outcomes of three separately trained attention-based convolutional neural networks (CNNs) using the Dempster-Shafer theory. The three base learners used in this paper are ResNet50, InceptionResNetV2 and Dense-Net201, each of which is aided by a soft attention module. For evaluating the proposed model, we have considered a publicly accessible skin cancer dataset, called HAM10000. This is a challenging dataset to work with as it is a class imbalanced dataset. Our proposed approach yields an accuracy of 0.932, which is better than many recently published methods found in the literature. Data augmentation methods for neural machine translation are particularly useful when limited amount of training data is available, which is often the case when dealing with low-resource languages. We introduce a novel augmentation method, which generates new sentences by swapping objects and subjects across bisentences. This is performed simultaneously based on the dependency parse trees of the source and target sentences. We name this method TreeSwap. Our results show that TreeSwap achieves consistent improvements over baseline models in 4 language pairs in both directions on resource-constrained datasets. We also explore domain-specific corpora, but find that our method does not make significant improvements on law, medical and IT data. We report the scores of similar augmentation methods and find that TreeSwap performs comparably. We also analyze the generated sentences qualitatively and find that the augmentation produces a correct translation in most cases. Our code is available on Github1. © 2023 Incoma Ltd. Fixed-time-synchronized control: a system-dimension-categorized approach

This study addresses the fixed-time-synchronized control problem of perturbed multi-input multioutput(MIMO) systems. In the task of fixed-time-synchronized control, different dimensions of the output signal in MIMO systems are required to reach the desired value simultaneously within a fixed time *** MIMO system is categorized into two cases: the input-dimension-dominant and the state-dimensiondominant cases. The classification is defined according to the dimension of system signals and, more importantly, the capability of converging at the same time. For each kind of MIMO system, sufficient Lyapunov conditions for fixed-time-synchronized convergence are explored, and the corresponding robust sliding mode controllers are designed. Moreover, perturbations are compensated using the super-twisting technique. The brake control of the vertical takeoff and landing aircraft is considered to verify the proposed method for the input-dimension-dominant case, which shows the essential advantages of decreasing the energy consumption and the output trajectory length. Furthermore, comparative numerical simulations are performed to show the semi-time-synchronized property for the state-dimension-dominant case.

In modern industrial cyber-physical systems, a mass of process variables has been obtained by the high-sampling online sensors. Meanwhile, the key quality indexes are usually obtained infrequently from the laboratory. Hence, these quality variables are with low sampling rate. To avail of the complete process and quality variables with various sampling rates in the dynamic processes, a set of semi-supervised dynamic latent variable models are proposed for dynamic modeling and quality-relevant monitoring. The proposed models have built a unified structure to consider both the auto-correlations and cross-correlations between the process and quality variables with unbalanced sampling sizes. Hence, the feature extraction of the time series data is dynamically adjusted under the guidance of the quality variables. Then, the quality-relevant monitoring schemes are proposed, which is validated by a numerical case and an actual wastewater treatment process. © 2024 IEEE. All rights reserved.

One of the actual tasks of movement classification based on electromyography is the choice of the most informative set of features characterizing the movements. Increasing the number of features may decrease the learning performance of classifiers and reduce the efficiency of gesture classification. This paper is devoted to study the possibilities of improving the movement's classification efficiency by using the feature space dimensionality reduction methods. Classifiers based on Support Vector Machines (SVM)., Decision Trees (DT)., Random Forest (RF) and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) were considered., and Principal Component Analysis method (PCA) was used to dimensionality reduction. 3% improvement in classification performance was achieved using PCA and KNN. © 2024 IEEE.

The article provides a theoretical analysis of the ultrahigh frequency (microwave) method of humidity measurement, discusses the problems of instrumentation of the method in question, and proposes a scheme of an experimental installation. Bulk cotton materials were selected as the objects of research. The electromagnetic wave radiation is analyzed during measurement and the evaluation of electrophysical characteristics requires the study of the functional dependence of the amplitude and phase shift on the mass ratio of humidity, mathematical models for various bulk cotton materials describing the joint effect of humidity, material density on the attenuation and phase shift of the passing wave are obtained. © 2023 IEEE.
