Modulated Degradation Rates of Bone Mineral-Like Calcium Phosphate Glass to Support the Proliferation and Osteogenic Differentiation of Bone Marrow-Derived Stem Cells

With an elemental composition similar to bone mineral,and the ability to release phosphorus and calcium that benefit bone regeneration,Calcium Phosphate Glass(CPG)serves as a promising component of bone tissue engineering ***,the degradation of CPG composites typically results in increased acidity,and its impact on bone-forming activity is less *** this work,we prepared 3D-printed composite scaffolds comprising CPG,Poly-ε-caprolactone(PCL),and various Magnesium Oxide(MgO)*** the MgO content effectively suppressed the degradation of CPG,maintaining a physiological pH of the degradation *** the degradation of CPG/PCL scaffolds resulted in upregulated apoptosis of Rat Bone Marrow-derived Stem Cells(rBMSC),scaffolds containing MgO were free from these negative impacts,and an optimal MgO content of 1 wt%led to the most pronounced osteogenic differentiation of *** work demonstrated that the rapid degradation of CPG impaired the renewability of stem cells through the increased acidity of the surrounding media,and MgO effectively modulated the degradation rate of CPG,thus preventing the negative effects of rapid degradation and supporting the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of the stem cells.

In this manuscript,we report the hydrothermally prepared rGO/Gd@ZnO nanocomposite for the utilization of photocatalytic Rh B(rhodamine B)dye *** required characterization techniques were carried out to analyse the structural,morphological,chemical,environmental and optical behaviour of the prepared *** efficiency of the prepared nanoparticles was studied by Rh B dye degradation upon UV-Vis-light illumination which reveals that composite catalyst degrades the dye molecule about 91%after 40 min of *** comparing the higher degradation efficiency of the rGO/Gd@ZnO nanocomposite with that of ZnO and Gd doped ZnO,it reveals a greater reduction of charge carriers'recombination,higher visible-light utilization and higher adsorption *** trapping experiment and recycling test were conducted to study the influence of active radicals for the degradation reaction and to know the stability of the prepared nanocomposite,***,this rGO supported Gd doped ZnO nanocomposite can provide a new path way in preparing a highly efficient photocatalyst for organic pollutant degradation at large.

Inductive wireless power transfer (WPT) faces significant challenges in achieving high efficiency and stable output power for charging mobile devices like EVs. Using circular pads (CP) as the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) and a self-oscillating controlled inverter, this paper demonstrates a robust WPT system that maintains high constant transfer efficiency and output power in a defined region regardless of coupling coefficient variations without communication between Tx and Rx or control circuits for the receiver side. In contrast to couplers with non-identical Tx and Rx pads and multiple decoupled coils in the Rx pad, the compact CP-CP magnetic coupler with a single identical coil on the Tx and Rx is more robust at a wider transfer distance (air gap) and lateral and rotational misalignment between the Tx and Rx. The proposed 1-kW robust WPT system with up to a 20 cm air gap between the Tx and Rx and up to 12 cm lateral misalignment in all directions at a 15 cm air gap and all degrees of rotational misalignment can tolerate coupling variations and achieve constant output power with 93% constant transfer efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

The Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been successfully applied to the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP), a classic NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem. The complexity of CVRP renders exact methods nearly infeasible, necessitating heuristic and metaheuristic approaches. GA is a widely used metaheuristic approach for obtaining near-optimal solutions, with the crossover operator playing a critical role in the algorithm's optimization effectiveness and efficiency. Although the Sequential Constructive Crossover (SCX) is one of the most effective crossover operators, it has the drawback of easily getting trapped in local optima. Given the limited research on improvements to SCX, this paper addresses this gap by proposing a Staged Crossover Strategy that Staged Sequential Constructive Crossover (SSCX) from a new perspective. This strategy introduces new individuals to enhance diversity, aiming to overcome the limitations of SCX. Extensive experiments on VRP instances of varying scales demonstrate that the improved algorithm significantly enhances optimization performance for large-scale CVRP instances, achieving an average improvement of approximately 5-18%. © 2025 IEEE.

Shared Mental Models and Boundary Management Activities in New Product Development: A Perspective on Multiteam systems

—Multiteam systems (MTSs) have been increasingly adopted as an organizational form to manage large-scale projects. However, new product development (NPD) in the MTSs structure entails challenges with respect to achieving efficiency due to interteam coordination challenges. Shared mental models (SMMs) within a single team have been found to facilitate intrateam coordination;however, further exploration is needed as to whether SMMs within MTSs can improve interteam coordination among component teams and, if so, what mechanisms underlie this. The present article examines the theoretical underpinning of the impacts of SMMs among component team leaders on MTSs’ NPD efficiency, and further considers the impact of external conditions of requirement uncertainty, the most common external situation during NPD. Using survey data from 110 information technology development MTSs and drawing on boundary management perspective, the results reveal that SMMs among component team leaders positively affect NPD efficiency by managing the MTSs boundary, i.e., through boundary entrainment and boundary buffering activities at the system level. In addition, we find that requirement uncertainty plays a vital role in determining the nature of this relationship. Taken together, our findings highlight the importance of the role of SMMs among component team leaders in facilitating NPD efficiency in MTSs settings. © 2022 IEEE. This paper studies the countermeasure design problems of distributed resilient time-varying formation-tracking control for multi-UAV systems with single-way communications against composite attacks,including denial-of-services(DoS)attacks,false-data injection attacks,camouflage attacks,and actuation attacks(AAs).Inspired by the concept of digital twin,a new two-layered protocol equipped with a safe and private twin layer(TL)is proposed,which decouples the above problems into the defense scheme against DoS attacks on the TL and the defense scheme against AAs on the cyber-physical ***,a topologyrepairing strategy against frequency-constrained DoS attacks is implemented via a Zeno-free event-triggered estimation scheme,which saves communication resources *** upper bound of the reaction time needed to launch the repaired topology after the occurrence of DoS attacks is ***,a decentralized adaptive and chattering-relief controller against potentially unbounded AAs is ***,this novel adaptive controller can achieve uniformly ultimately bounded convergence,whose error bound can be given *** practicability and validity of this new two-layered protocol are shown via a simulation example and a UAV swarm experiment equipped with both Ultra-WideBand and WiFi communication channels.

Smallholders play a vital role in global agriculture but face challenges such as resource limitations and market uncertainties. Contract farming (CF) and cooperative markets provide opportunities to smallholders to address these challenges. In this context, this study develops mathematical planning models for fresh produce supply chains (FPSCs) in two scenarios involving CF and cooperative markets with the objective of maximizing profits of smallholders. Results of computational experiments and sensitivity analysis reveal that CF has greater potential than cooperative markets to mitigate price volatility, thereby offering a stable income source to smallholders. This study provides valuable insights into CF and cooperative market practices, contributing to the sustainability of FPSCs and improving smallholders’ livelihoods. © Fuji Technology Press Ltd.

In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for adversarial attacks to direct data-driven control. In direct data-driven control, the controller is directly designed from input-output data of the system to be controlled without system identification. Previous research has shown that direct data-driven control is vulnerable to adversarial attacks which add small perturbations to the data, and has proposed the directed gradient sign method (DGSM) as a method to generate severe attacks. We introduce a new method, referred to as the iterative directed gradient sign method (IDGSM), based on DGSM and the projected gradient method. Several numerical examples with comparison of IDGSM and DGSM demonstrate that IDGSM generates more sophisticated adversarial attacks than DGSM. Furthermore, we identify the role of the regularization terms through stability analysis using the Lyapunov equation. The regularization term are defense mechanisms against disturbances, and their effectiveness against adversarial attacks has been numerically validated. We provide a theoretical explanation for their effectiveness against attacks.
