One family of 13315 stable periodic orbits of non-hierarchical unequal-mass triple systems

The three-body problem can be traced back to Newton in 1687,but it is still an open question *** that only a few periodic orbits of three-body systems were found in 300 years after Newton mentioned this famous *** triple systems are common in astronomy,practically all observed periodic triple systems are hierarchical(similar to the Sun,Earth and Moon).It has traditionally been believed that non-hierarchical triple systems would be unstable and thus should disintegrate into a stable binary system and a single star,and consequently stable periodic orbits of non-hierarchical triple systems have been expected to be rather ***,we report here one family of 135445 periodic orbits of non-hierarchical triple systems with unequal masses;13315 among them are *** with the narrow mass range(only 10-5)in which stable"Figure-eight"periodic orbits of three-body systems exist,our newly found stable periodic orbits have fairly large mass *** find that many of these numerically found stable non-hierarchical periodic orbits have mass ratios close to those of hierarchical triple systems that have been measured with astronomical *** implies that these stable periodic orbits of non-hierarchical triple systems with distinctly unequal masses quite possibly can be observed in *** investigation also suggests that there should exist an infinite number of stable periodic orbits of non-hierarchical triple systems with distinctly unequal *** that our approach has general meaning:in a similar way,every known family of periodic orbits of three-body systems with two or three equal masses can be used as a starting point to generate thousands of new periodic orbits of triple systems with distinctly unequal masses.

A global supply chain is affected by many factors, such as disruption, customs duty, economic partnership agreements, and requirements for the reduction of GreenHouse Gas (GHG) emission. COVID-19 has caused a negative impact on the global supply chain. A sustainable supply chain needs to reduce GHG emission. However, GHG emission varies across countries because of the energy mix. Therefore, the impact of disruption and different GHG emission levels should be considered in a global supply chain design. Moreover, a global supply chain is influenced by customs duty and Trans-Pacific Partnership, which is a free trade agreement. This study models and formulates a global supply chain network including disruption, material-based GHG emission, customs duty, and TPP to minimize the total cost and total GHG emission by integer programming with ϵ constraint. The result of the numerical experiments indicates that the nationalization of a factory in a developed country is effective in reducing GHG emission to avoid disruption in the middle GHG emission country in a global supply chain. Additionally, it is found that there is no trade-off relationship between disruption effect and reducing total GHG emission, Though, there is a trade-off relationship between total cost and total GHG emission in the experiment. © 2021 IEEE.

Piezoelectric LiNbO3 has been widely utilized to generate and detect spin waves in surface acoustic wave devices. Here we demonstrate an epitaxial Co-based Heusler alloy on a LiNbO3 128° Y-cut (LN-128Y) substrate by molecular beam epitaxy. Although there is no matching between the lattice length and symmetry, the insertion of a bcc metal buffer layer enables to grow L21 - ordered epitaxial Co2FeSi films on the LN-128Y substrate. The epitaxial Co2FeSi/LN- 128Y multiferroic heterostructures show a high saturation magnetization of ~1235 eμcc and a low damping constant of ~6 × 10-3. This study will open a way for an efficient electric-field control of the spin waves in surface acoustic wave devices. © 2023 IEEE.

Assessing the relative activity of faulting along both flanks of the Ou Backbone Range, Tohoku Region, Japan, from fluvial geomorphic analyses

The Ou Backbone Range in the Tohoku Region of Japan is bounded on its both sides by two major active fault systems: the Western Fault Zone of Kitakami Lowland in the east and the Eastern Fault Zone of Yokote Basin in the west. Although these two systems are primary active fault systems in the region, information on their long-term activity characteristics is still quite limited. Therefore, we analyzed the normalized channel steepness indexes of river valleys trending perpendicular to the range front along both flanks of the Ou Backbone Range. Our results show that the eastern flank has gentler river valleys, whereas rivers along the northwestern flank are steeper. Our field investigation shows that knickpoints in this area are mostly related to local lithologic boundaries or are check dams along the valleys, thus the river systems are likely under steady-state conditions. Hence, the steeper river valleys in northwestern Ou Backbone Range indicate a higher uplift rate of the area. Because both fault systems are primarily dip-slip reverse faults and do not have significant variations in their subsurface geometry, the faster uplift suggests that the northern segment of the Eastern Fault Zone of Yokote Basin has a higher slip rate. This is consistent with results of previous studies, and the fact that the rupture of the 1896 Rikuu earthquake, the only historical surface-rupturing event in this region, was only limited along the northern segment of this fault system.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)have become cause for growing concern in the Arctic ecosystems,partly due to their stable levels despite global emission *** is considered one of the primary sources that influence PAH levels and trends in the Arctic,but quantitative investigations of this influence are still *** study estimates the global emissions of benzo[a]pyrene(BaP),a congener of PAHs with high carcinogenicity,from forest and grassland fires from 2001 to 2020 and simulates the contributions of wildfire-induced BaP emissions from different source regions to BaP contamination in the *** find that global wildfires contributed 29.3%to annual averaging BaP concentrations in the Arctic from 2001 to ***,we show that wildfires contributed significantly to BaP concentrations in the Arctic after 2011,enhancing it from 10.1%in 2011 to 83.9%in *** results reveal that wildfires accounted for 94.2%and 50.8%of BaP levels in the Asian Arctic during boreal summer and autumn,respectively,and 74.2%and 14.5%in the North American Arctic for the same *** source-tagging approach identified that local wildfire biomass emissions were the largest source of BaP in the Arctic,accounting for 65.7%of its concentration,followed by those of Northern Asia(17.8%)and Northern North America(13.7%).Our findings anticipate wildfires to play a larger role in Arctic PAH contaminations alongside continually decreasing anthropogenic emissions and climate warming in the future.

Risk-Averse Learning with Delayed feedback

In real-world scenarios, the impacts of decisions may not manifest immediately. Taking these delays into account facilitates accurate assessment and management of risk in real-world environments, thereby ensuring the efficacy of strategies. In this paper, we investigate risk-averse learning using Conditional Value at Risk (CVaR) as risk measure, while incorporating delayed feedback with unknown but bounded delays. We develop two risk-averse learning algorithms that rely on one-point and two-point zeroth-order optimization approaches, respectively. The regret achieved by the algorithms is analyzed in terms of the cumulative delay and the number of total samplings. The results suggest that the two-point risk-averse learning achieves a smaller regret bound than the one-point algorithm. Furthermore, the one-point risk-averse learning algorithm attains sublinear regret under certain delay conditions, and the two-point risk-averse learning algorithm achieves sublinear regret with minimal restrictions on the delay. We provide numerical experiments on a dynamic pricing problem to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms. © 2024, CC0.

The number of leaves at a given time is important to characterize plant growth and *** this work,we developed a high-throughput method to count the number of leaves by detecting leaf tips in RGB *** digital plant phenotyping platform was used to simulate a large and diverse dataset of RGB images and corresponding leaf tip labels of wheat plants at seedling stages(150,000 images with over 2 million labels).The realism of the images was then improved using domain adaptation methods before training deep learning *** results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method evaluated on a diverse test dataset,collecting measurements from 5 countries obtained under different environments,growth stages,and lighting conditions with different cameras(450 images with over 2,162 labels).Among the 6 combinations of deep learning models and domain adaptation techniques,the Faster-RCNN model with cycle-consistent generative adversarial network adaptation technique provided the best performance(R^(2)=0.94,root mean square error=8.7).Complementary studies show that it is essential to simulate images with sufficient realism(background,leaf texture,and lighting conditions)before applying domain adaptation ***,the spatial resolution should be better than 0.6 mm per pixel to identify leaf *** method is claimed to be self-supervised since no manual labeling is required for model *** self-supervised phenotyping approach developed here offers great potential for addressing a wide range of plant phenotyping *** trained networks are available at https://***/YinglunLi/Wheat-leaf-tip-detection.

To tackle the twin challenges of limited battery life and lengthy charging durations in electric vehicles (EV s), this paper introduces an Energy-efficient Hybrid Model Predictive Planner (EHMPP), which employs an energy-saving optimization strategy. EHMPP focuses on refining the design of the motion planner to be seamlessly integrated with the existing automatic driving algorithms, without additional hardware. It has been validated through simulation experiments on the Prescan, CarSim, and Matlab platforms, demonstrating that it can increase passive recovery energy by 11.74% and effectively track motor speed and acceleration at optimal power. To sum up, EHMPP not only aids in trajectory planning but also significantly boosts energy efficiency in autonomous EVs.

This study applied the BERT model to the analysis of social media data to enhance the process of reviewing Japanese accommodation options. Text processing and sentiment analysis revealed shifts in the preferences and perceptions of Taiwanese tourists before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. These findings demonstrating the impact of the pandemic on traveler behavior as well as the utility of AI in elucidating these changes.
