The paper addresses the Network Roll-Out (NRO) problem aimed at scheduling the construction of mobile stations. In this case, NRO problem can be considered as a generalization of Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem, where we need to find a schedule for the activities related to the construction of a set of base stations taking into account the precedence constraints and the availability of resources while minimizing some measure of performance. The generalization involves the multiple projects, multi-modes, discrete time-cost tradeoff, together with particular business requirements like precedence redundancy and workload stability constraints. To solve this problem, we propose a MIP formulation that is based on a generalization of Disaggregated Discrete-Time formulation with pulse start variables. Using this formulation, we propose a three-stage heuristic based on a relax and fix strategy. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach are illustrated in a series of computational experiments on real-life problem instances. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In this paper we address the so-called two-dimensional Multiple Strip Packing Problem (MSPP). There is a set of rectangles and a set of strips, where each strip has a pre-defined width. The problem is to find a feasible packing of all the rectangles into the strips so as the maximal height of the packing over all the strips is minimized. A packing is feasible if all the rectangles are placed into the strips and not overlapped. In case of only one strip, the problem is widely known as the Strip Packing Problem (SPP). Many effective constructive heuristics for SPP are based on the so-called skyline representation of a packing pattern. We generalized this approach for the case of multiple strips and developed a randomized local search, which embeds the proposed skyline heuristic to compute the objective value for a packing. We also introduced the two-dimensional level multiple strip packing problem and developed some level-based constructive heuristics. We report computational results on real-life problem instances arisen in an application of MSPP in scheduling computing jobs on multiple Spark computer clusters. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In this paper, we propose a novel approach to recovering path relationships in communication networks. The path relationship is one of the key input data which is necessary for network operation and maintenance. We have a continuous network transformation, upgrades, expansions, service allocations, thus the network physical topology and paths relationship are permanently changing with high frequency. Our approach is aimed at recovering the path relationships through flow information of each arc in the network. Getting the flow information is not a big technical problem and its control is included in the basic toolbox for network monitoring. We consider two scenarios which lead us to integer linear programs. The both of them minimize the flow deviation, where in the first one we look for a directed spanning tree (r-arborescence) and, in the second one—more general origin/destination paths (OD-paths). We propose mixed integer linear programming formulations for both problems. Their feature is that they contain the non-polynomial number of constraints which are considered implicitly by the cutting planes approach. The preliminary computation results showed that the large-scale instances of the first scenario can easily be solved. At the same time, the optimal solutions of second scenario problems can be found only on small- and medium-size instances, which inspires for the further research. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In this paper, the iterative Vertical-Bell-lab Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) decoding algorithm of an Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) system is proposed, and the corresponding MIMO scheme is analyzed. The proposed decoding algorithm adopts iteratively extrinsic information from a Maximum A Posteriori (MAP) decoder as an a priori probability in the two decoding procedures of the V-BLAST scheme of ordering and slicing in an AMC system. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed decoding algorithm is compared with that of a conventional V-BLAST decoding algorithm and a Maximum Likelihood (ML) decoding algorithm in the combined system of an AMC scheme and a V-BLAST scheme. In this analysis, each MIMO schemes are assumed to be parts of the system for performance improvement.

Power transmission line safety monitoring is one of the important tasks to maintain the security of national power grid. In this paper, the object detection method based on computer vision is applied to automatically monitor the potential safety risk of transmission line. We firstly create a potential safety risk object dataset. Secondly we analyze most state-of-the-art object detection model. Thirdly according to the specific dataset, an object detection model was trained, which uses training tricks to get high performance. Fourthly, we built a monitoring system that feeds the discriminant results back to the display terminal, which can comprehensively grasp the situation of the whole safe area and ensure the safe operation of the transmission network. Our experiments show the excellent results are Cascade R-CNN detection framework based on deep learning and backbone based on high resolution representations network. It gains 81.5 mAP on 26 kinds of objects datasets at IOU threshold 0.5, and show hidden danger detection algorithm based on deep learning can accurately discriminate the dangerous sources. The monitoring system feeds the discriminant results back to the display terminal, which can comprehensively grasp the situation of the whole safe area and ensure the safe operation of the transmission network. © 2020 IEEE.

The under-recognition, underestimate of area at risk, and under-treatment of ST elevation posterior myocardial infarct in patients with acute coronary syndrome are often due to the insensitive standard 12-lead electrocardiographic diagnosis and bias toward "anterior subendocardial ischemia". We designed a new computer algorithm to improve ECG detection of isolated and combined posterior myocardial infarct using extended posterior leads V7, V8 and V9. ECG criteria for PMI include "age" (acute, recent, age indeterminate or old) and "probability" (consider, probable or definite) infarct. Combining the subjects with posterior myocardial infarct (n=182), we obtained an increase of 26 percentage points in sensitivity of posterior myocardial infarction detection from 14% using standard 12-leads to 40% including posterior leads with a small drop in specificity from 98% to 96.4%. The highest increase was seen in a subset of subjects having undergone for PTCA procedure from 21% to 86% (65 percentage points). We conclude the automated posterior myocardial infarct detection algorithm provides another valuable tool for diagnosis of ST elevation posterior myocardial infarct. Posterior leads V7, V8 and V9 can capture ECG changes due to isolated ST elevation PMI or acute myocardial infarct with posterior wall involvement and provide improved sensitivity in posterior myocardial infarct detection.

Social features and Dynamicity within Collaborative organizations are an important consideration for Participant. It is well known that with the absence of dynamicity, the organization could not adopt themselves with market demands. Therefore, the structure of processes must be modified. Furthermore, without explicit definition of social features, especially coordination, conflicts and deadlocks may occur in interoperability execution in organizations. The aim of this research is to provide a technique to improve social feature definition, adaptability and dynamic of a special collaborative organization with the use of petri nets. After that with a powerful tool and Occurrence Graph, it is evaluated. The result shows that with our approach, Organizations respond to the Customer's demand in a shorter time (Dynamicity), and deadlock is avoided with the use of decision policies (Coordination).

Nowadays, with the rapid development of the high-speed railway, more and more people prefer to using rail traffic for travel or for commuting due to its convenience and flexibility. Railway scenario becomes an important communication scenario in the 5G era. In order to satisfy the increasing demand for higher transmission capabilities, the railway communication system should be designed to support high data rate demands with seamless connectivity. The channel characteristics of viaduct tunnel scenario are studied and modeled in this paper. More channel characteristics are explored by ray-tracing simulations at 93.2 GHz with 2 GHz bandwidth. The critical channel parameters are extracted, supplied, and incorporated into a 3GPP-like random channel generator. The necessary channel information can be practically implemented so that the link level and system level design of the communication system can be supported in similar scenarios. © Institution of Engineering and *** Rights Reserved.
