Faithful geometric measures for genuine tripartite entanglement

We present a faithful geometric picture for genuine tripartite entanglement of discrete, continuous, and hybrid quantum systems. We first find that the triangle relation Ei|jkα≤Ej|ikα+Ek|ijα holds for all subadditive bipartite entanglement measure E, all permutations under parties i,j,k, all α∈[0,1], and all pure tripartite states. Then, we rigorously prove that the nonobtuse triangle area, enclosed by side Eα with 0<α≤1/2, is a measure for genuine tripartite entanglement. Finally, it is significantly strengthened for qubits that given a set of subadditive and nonsubadditive measures, some state is always found to violate the triangle relation for any α>1, and the triangle area is not a measure for any α>1/2. Our results pave the way to study discrete and continuous multipartite entanglement within a unified framework.

Early Detection of Cyber-Physical Attacks on Electric Vehicles Fast Charging Stations Using Wavelets and Deep Learning

Transportation electrification plays an important role in the operation of the smart grid through the integration of the electric vehicle fast charging stations (EVFCSs), which allows the electric vehicles to provide regulation services to the grid through the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) concept. However, such an integration makes smart grid assets prone to cyber vulnerability threats. In this paper, a cyber-physical attack detection approach is developed to early detect such attacks. The proposed approach combines the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and the convolution neural network (CNN) to provide an effective detection technique. The proposed detection approach has undergone rigorous testing that considered 420 realistic operational scenarios. Unlike in previous work, the proposed detection approach was found to be effective in automatically learning the salient features from the data as well as identifying the frequency bands that hold such features and using them in the classification process. Furthermore, this work investigated the cyber-attack detection accuracy using different time resolutions of smart meters. The results have shown that the proposed approach effectively detects cyber-physical attacks with an accuracy of 99.76% and a low computational time of 1.8 seconds. © 2024 IEEE.

An imbalanced dataset often challenges machine learning, particularly classification methods. Underrepresented minority classes can result in biased and inaccurate models. The Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (SMOTE) was developed to address the problem of imbalanced data. Over time, several weaknesses of the SMOTE method have been identified in generating synthetic minority class data, such as overlapping, noise, and small disjuncts. However, these studies generally focus on only one of SMOTE’s weaknesses: noise or overlapping. Therefore, this study addresses both issues simultaneously by tackling noise and overlapping in SMOTE-generated data. This study proposes a combined approach of filtering, clustering, and distance modification to reduce noise and overlapping produced by SMOTE. Filtering removes minority class data (noise) located in majority class regions, with the k-nn method applied for filtering. The use of Noise Reduction (NR), which removes data that is considered noise before applying SMOTE, has a positive impact in overcoming data imbalance. Clustering establishes decision boundaries by partitioning data into clusters, allowing SMOTE with modified distance metrics to generate minority class data within each cluster. This SMOTE clustering and distance modification approach aims to minimize overlap in synthetic minority data that could introduce noise. The proposed method is called “NR-Clustering SMOTE,” which has several stages in balancing data: (1) filtering by removing minority classes close to majority classes (data noise) using the k-nn method;(2) clustering data using K-means aims to establish decision boundaries by partitioning data into several clusters;(3) applying SMOTE oversampling with Manhattan distance within each cluster. Since the inception of the Internet and WWW, providing the time among multiple nodes on the Internet has been one of the most critical challenges. David Mills is the pioneer to provide time on the Internet, inventing the Network Time Protocol (NTP), and synchronizing the clocks in computer systems. Now, the NTP is predominantly used on the Internet and WWW. In this paper, we revisit the NTP, and present the overview of the NTP. In particular, we highlight the advanced research effort, the SpaceNTP, to synchronize the clocks among assets and entities in space. Support Vector Machine(SVM)has become one of the traditional machine learning algorithms the most used in prediction and classification ***,its behavior strongly depends on some parameters,making tuning these parameters a sensitive step to maintain a good *** the other hand,and as any other classifier,the performance of SVM is also affected by the input set of features used to build the learning model,which makes the selection of relevant features an important task not only to preserve a good classification accuracy but also to reduce the dimensionality of *** this paper,the MRFO+SVM algorithm is introduced by investigating the recent manta ray foraging optimizer to fine-tune the SVM parameters and identify the optimal feature subset *** proposed approach is validated and compared with four SVM-based algorithms over eight benchmarking ***,it is applied to a disease Covid-19 *** experimental results show the high ability of the proposed algorithm to find the appropriate SVM’s parameters,and its acceptable performance to deal with feature selection problem.

Over the past years,many efforts have been accomplished to achieve fast and accurate meta-heuristic algorithms to optimize a variety of real-world *** study presents a new optimization method based on an unusual geological phenomenon in nature,named Geyser inspired Algorithm(GEA).The mathematical modeling of this geological phenomenon is carried out to have a better understanding of the optimization *** efficiency and accuracy of GEA are verified using statistical examination and convergence rate comparison on numerous CEC 2005,CEC 2014,CEC 2017,and real-parameter benchmark ***,GEA has been applied to several real-parameter engineering optimization problems to evaluate its *** addition,to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of GEA,a comprehensive investigation is performed for a fair comparison with other standard optimization *** results demonstrate that GEA is noticeably prosperous in reaching the optimal solutions with a high convergence rate in comparison with other well-known nature-inspired algorithms,including ABC,BBO,PSO,and *** that the source code of the GEA is publicly available at https://***/projects/gea.

In the contemporary years, the Internet usage has full-fledged and has made the advance of networking techniques to accomplish the necessities of better bandwidth, throughput and less latency. Software defined networking (SDN) is a technique which organizes the network functions intellectually by using software applications. One of the foremost challenges is load balancing amongst the manifold servers. Most of the applications cannot be performed well without employing load balancers. The existing load balancing mechanisms are basically either of two types: Static and Dynamic. In this paper the performance of static and dynamic load balancing algorithms are scrutinized. The simulation results of few static algorithms and a Dynamic algorithm are exposed in this paper. The relative analysis of the results of Static and Dynamic load balancing algorithms based on latency, throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio and Packet loss percentage are primed in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

Polysomnography (PSG)-based sleep staging is vital for assessing sleep quality. As a state-of-the-art deep learning model structure, Transformer has been increasingly utilized to enhance sleep stage classification efficiency. However, the default self-attention mechanism in Transformer encoder often struggles with long-term dependencies in time sequences. To overcome this limitation, we introduce a novel method that integrates the Matrix Profile, a time series data mining technique, with the Transformer's self-attention mechanism to better capture global data abnormalities and temporal dynamics. Our approach preprocesses PSG data from multiple channels using Matrix Profiles to highlight significant patterns. These profiles, combined with time-frequency representations, are fed into a Transformer encoder to fuse multi-channel features, and enhance the understanding of temporal interdependencies. The enhanced features are classified via two fully connected layers, yielding substantial improvements in sleep stage classification accuracy and efficiency on multichannel data as compared to the baseline models. This work not only underscores the efficacy of Matrix Profile in sleep classification but also proposes a new paradigm for processing complex temporal data in deep learning models. The disease of Kidney stones is a risky disease for individuals all over the world. Many people with kidney stones in the early phase do not detect it as an illness, and it harms the organ gradually. Precise analysis of kidney illness is vital, as it is a major health concern that needs accurate detection for appropriate and effective treatment. CT scans are one of the most extensively accessible imaging models, and they are employed for effective diagnosis. Deep learning (DL) techniques are gradually identified as beneficial tools for analyzing illness in the medical field. However, present techniques employing deep networks often meet low accuracy and overfitting challenges, demanding further alteration for optimum performance. This study presents a Leveraging Flying Foxes Optimization with an Ensemble of Deep Learning for Accurate Kidney Stone Detection (LFFOEDL-AKSD) technique in CT scans. The presented LFFOEDL-AKSD technique mainly focuses on detecting kidney stones using CI imaging. At first, the presented LFFOEDL-AKSD technique applies the pre-processing phase, which involves image resizing for uniform CT scan dimensions and data augmentation through transformations like rotation and flipping to reduce overfitting, sobel filtering (SF) sharpens edges, and the data is separated into training, validation, and testing sets for model development. The presented LFFOEDL-AKSD technique employs the swin transformer (ST) model for the feature extraction method. Furthermore, the majority voting ensemble of three DL approaches, such as the graph convolutional network (GCN), temporal convolutional network (TCN), and three-dimensional convolutional autoencoder (3D-CAE) approaches, are employed to increase the precision and reliability of the kidney stone recognition. Finally, the presented LFFOEDL-AKSD technique implements the flying foxes optimization (FFO) approach for the hyperparameter tuning involved in the ensemble learning models. One of the leading causes of early health detriment is the increasing levels of air pollution in major cities and eventually in indoor spaces. Monitoring the air quality effectively in closed spaces like educational institutes and hospitals can improve both the health and the life quality of the occupants. In this paper, we propose an efficient Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) monitoring and management system, which uses a combination of cutting-edge technologies to monitor and predict major air pollutants like, TVOCs, and other factors like temperature and humidity. The aim is to create an intelligent environment for IAQ. The data is captured and monitored using an Internet of Things network of sensors, manufactured by ourselves, in different lecture rooms at the university. The obtained data is then processed and correlated in real time using a complex event processing engine and analyzed by machine/deep learning algorithms. A long short-term memory neural network is proposed to forecast IAQ. Then a decision tree regressor is used to identify the relationships between temperature, humidity and different pollutants like CO2 and PM2.5. © 2025 IEEE.
